I love that at first you were kinda serious, but now you’ve been making videos for a while you’re really letting your personality shine - you are SO funny as well as informative.
Alpha arbutin is made from plants, hydroquinone is a chemical made in a lab. Alpha is safe and does not cause issues over time, whatever creams/serums you use, you must use a mineral sunscreen together. Sunscreen is prevention, otherwise everything else is a waste of money and under sun can become worse with or without products on face.
@@user-ky3hy5fm1y uneven skin my face is more red than my body smoother skin and brighter skin I don’t have wrinkles except for my elevens which are very bad
@@anniesmolkin7685 Azelaic acid is good for redness and rosacea i suppose. It needs to be applied 2 times a day and gives off results in just 4 weeks!!
Niacinamide works the best for me. I had hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, blemishes, acne scars, acne, open pores and etc. Plus my skin is super sensitive and easily burn under the sun.😢 It cleared up my skin in just 2 months😅 worth every penny i spent. Even my friends were shock at my new smooth, glowy and brighten skin.
Did you have a skincare routine that you can share? Cleanser, sunscreen and when you used the niacinamide in your routine. I have dull hyperpigmentation on my face from pregnancy. Pre-kids I had glowing fair skin.
Which products from the yuja line? I only use the serum and it has helped but thinking about getting more diff products in the line for more improvement
That’s where my Kojic Acid soap (Kojie San ) is from! Discovered it 17 or so years ago Loved it. 🥰. I use it more for my body these days, since there are fragrance-free options for the face now, but it’s still great.
Hydroquinone is banned here. I’ve tried vitamin C (skinceuticals), B3, etc. Prescription azelaic acid transform my face. I was already using prescription retinol (tretinoin) so maybe it’s due to the combination. But within two weeks of adding prescription azelaic acid to my routine my face was bright, glowing. I think it’s the antioxidant qualities. Vitamin C is a complete ripoff. Go for prescription not over the counter products and you can get it all online and cheaper than all the OTC products sold by cosmetic companies that mostly just drain your wallet and not all that effective (that’s if you can tolerate prescription retinol).
I am using adapalene (gap of 2 days in mid because it's my first month on adap and I have extremely sensitive and dry skin). My face is covered with hyperpigmentation. My derm has prescribed me azelaic acid and she told me to only use it on spots. I am thinking of using it on the days I don't use adap and only use it on spots just like how my derm prescribed. What do you think? Will this routine help?
@@FatimaAli-lj3yi i also use all over. Hydroquinone and niacimamide is great for hyperpigmentation. I had really dark circles but using that really helped. Just don't use hydroquinone for over 3 months and have a break.
FRIDAY, May 27, 2022 (HealthDay News) -- Hydroquinone use increases the risk for both melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers by more than threefold, according to a study presented at the Society for Investigative Dermatology Annual Meeting, held May 18 to 21 in Portland, Oregon
I can’t tell you how happy I am that more and more people are talking about Kojic Acid. About 17 years ago, right after high school, I somehow stumbled upon a Kojic Acid soap. I used it to treat my PIH from acne I had in high school. I was diligent with it, and It worked like magic. Every time I got some sort of hyperpigmentation ever since, I always sought the soap out. It is fragranced as hell, but I didn’t have much options until the last two or so years.
@@Shiningsnow It definitely works but it makes ur skin so damn sensitive. I used it for a while and its drying but the results are definitely there but it takes a while ( at least 3 months of consistent use ) before seeing obvious result. Although it might work faster if your skin can tolerate putting it on more than twice a week. Use ceramide moisturiser after to fix ur skin barrier and wear SUNSCREEN
@@Shiningsnow Sorry for the (REALLY) late reply! I got red/felt my face burn if I left it on for longer than what my skin was used to (I would leave it on for longer and longer after my skin got used to each length of time. First time: 10 seconds, 2nd: 25, then just upped the time each time). But for the most part, I never got a bad reaction The brand was Kojie San. I used the classic/general one. I know they have more choices now.
Yes. I had a terrible discoloration in & above an eyebrow about 4 inches long. I tried some things first but bought a $9 tube of hydroquinone. May have been AHA brand. I can't remember how long I used it, but it completely erased the discoloration. I had to be careful because if I left it on too long it caused a sore with scabbing. I figured out how to best use it and was absolutely astonished at how well it worked. The dark spot was completely gone. This was in the 1990s & it hasn't returned. But then I stopped tanning my face. The tube also listed the % strength which many really expensive solutions didn't do. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing such great information.
@@shailieejauharri3720Not if you use retinoids too. I swear god hydroquinone + tetrinoin is the best combination ever! My skin's dark and I tried a lot of stuff, also because of my skin picking disorder I was going through a nightmare for many years. This formula just worked so freaking fast that I watched good results within 2 days of application. Now my face and armpits look way more brighter!! ❤ Just make sure you moisturize those areas daily if u don't want your skin to burn badly.
I've used papaya soap from the Philippines since my teen. Been using for about 7yrs because I have had bad acne all over my cheek and chin. Those soap helps my skin looks brighter/whiter and somehow calm my acne. Only left with redness. Then I stopped using cause it made my skin so dry. Now I used niacinamide. Thankfully my skin clears out and there's not much scar from acne. 😊
To be clear this is a silly trend video and is kind of only fully understandable by people that watch her long form videos. She loves vitamin c so putting it last here might seem like she doesn't like it but thats not the case. Also, she has gone deep into how to best use all of these ingredients. She is very thorough in my opinion in mentioning every skin color and type and possible outcome.
Something about about retinol that I wish people told me more is that .. u can't never go easy on sunscreen or that retinol cause even more hyperpigmentation
Okay, it's the same for me.When I started using retinol, I noticed that my skin would get hyperpigmentation if I didn't reapply my sunscreen or apply a proper amount.
Google "hydroquinone Lab Muffin". Lab Muffin (aka Michelle Wong) has a chemistry PhD, is a science educator and cosmetic chemist. She's done an excellent overview of on her website.
I am Indian so almost all dermatologist recommend hydroquinone and tret to my mum who has sensitive skin and some melasma. It backfired so bad for her.... Now she uses kojic acid and liquorice root extract...so far it's working good, slower than other two options but definitely better for sensitive skin
alpha arbutin has reduced my hyperpigmentation so much in just 2 weeks of using, i have been using the beauty of joseon glow deep serum (rice + alpha arbutin) along with the numbuzin no3 toner and it has evened my skin tone and reduced the clogged pores on my forehead and also my skin is glowing frr!
Unless you KNOW how to use them properly, because using treatments like hydroquinone over a long period of time can cause reversed effect and it can actually cause very deep darkening to the areas applied if used wrongly or for a long time, which can be harder to treat later. Now I’m not sure of the exact period of usage, but I think it was 3 months use and then stop for at least 1 month before using it again ( just like with tretinoin ) but that’s just what I know from researching.
Under a doctor's supervision. It is safe. Can only be used upto 2 months i think.. then you must take a break. Otherwise it can worsen hyperpigmentation. Also, don't buy the cheap ones in Indian market.. Always get it prescribed from doctor. If you're too scared to try hydroquinone then use alpha arbutin, niacinamide and tretinoin.. they worked for me
Papaya extract is safe for use this way? I am quite surprised that licorice root didn’t make the pyramid. And I really believed SPF was going to be the number 1 😅
I'm black and i've tried hydroquinone for a week or two, i couldn't sit on my butt for a whole month it burned oike hell... And my butt turned out to be darker than the darkest nigga you've ever found... All i wanted was an even skin tone 😢 ...
Oh dear. That's awful. I used it above an eyebrow on tougher skin than a soft bottom. I'm Italian descent so medium to light-ish skin color. Tanned too much and ended up with discolored big patch, which to me looked very obvious. The hydroquinone worked for me - long time ago so can't remember how long I used it but like you I found it could burn if left on too long. I learned to be careful with use and the discoloration disappeared completely & never came back - this was 30 years ago. Maybe don't worry about your butt, nobody cares what color it is. And if they do then get rid of them. LOL!
When using retinol, use it carefully. Sometimes it does not suit. I tried it a few weeks ago. A little amount, it causes an allergic reaction. So, it's a no for me. Vitamin C is great to me.
Retinoids/ retinal always can’t go wrong but I also wanna hear more on O2 capsule skin care products! c: they so interesting cause I heard from some Korean seems our skin lacks oxygen? Or I think it was carbon dioxide I forgot which 1 😭 But our bodies distribute oxygen throughout our face and sometimes it can be lacking of em. So I heard of 02 skincare brand and really wanted to try em out ^^
I would also add thiamidol that's really great but also glycolic acid (working well together with others), niacinamide, azelaic acid, and of course the amazing melanoxyl and diglycosil gallic acid.
Currently using kojie san soap + reti-A daily mask by VT Cosmetic for my night time routine. Amazing combination. I agree the kojie san can be quite irritating. You need to slowly build up tolerance + hydration. Initially, i kept the foam on my skin for 3 minutes. Then, i add extra min until 5 min. When my skin feels irritated, I go back to 3 minutes with thick moisturizer. I wish there is more kojic acid product. The kojie san is the only one i know
I’m loving these rating videos I’ve akways actually wondered this. Please Mahe explainer videos to go with these shorts! Mahe a hydrating explanungbcjdeo and an occlusive and emollient short plz! Also I always thought alpha Arbutin > Kojic acid
I used it with Tretinoin in my routine as prescribed by my dermatologist. It was about a pea size, once a week. Three months later my doctor was like "you are getting too white, we are going to stop it" 😅. buuuuuut you should only use it under medical advice. That shit can make some horrible things beyond the rebound hyperpigmentation...
@@Najneen99 in my case it didn't, but I was getting medical check ups every month, and nearly used it about a dozen times in total. It can mess up the color and texture of the skin, causing ochronosis exogenous (you can look it up) Poc have to be extra careful about it.
I have been using Hydroquinone for the past two months and I'm going to stop it gradually in the upcoming weeks. So the thing is I'm afraid of a rebound of pigmentation. Please give me some ideas if you have any idea about how to tackle it like what actives can be used to prevent rebounding. Anyone who used Hydroquinone?
