Raul Malo and the band are the best, I have such a hard time finding anybody that knows of his music, and then I met someone from Seattle who is crazy about his music, finally. This guy is absolutely wonderful off the charts. So talented, as his band is also
It's nice to see the accordion guy get some attention! Usually Eddie or that dancing piano player get most of the camera time. I would love to watch Paul the drummer for a while song too. As a musician, I'm more interested in what they're doing instrumentally than the look on the vocalist's face. Raul is probably in my top 3 favorite singers, but it's cool to give the background guys some front time like this.
Unbelievable talent. Raul is so amazing. The button accordion player is truly fabulous. Such brilliant talent. Love love love these guys. Latino..... YAY!!!!
Vince Scaglione ....I bought a Stephen Foster tribute CD for a Mavis Staples cut.....and was BLOWN AWAY by this guy singing "Beautiful Dreamer". Everyone has roots and influences....few are able to take it to another level like these guys.
Wonderful video of Raul, Michael and Elio.. I, too, love that there was a strong focus on Michael Guerra on the accordion. He is amazing! One of my favorite songs to see Raul perform live..he almost gets into a trance!
I came here to share my love for this song since youtube eliminated comments on studio music. Everytime I hear this song, I see a beautiful woman in a simple dress dancing in my head.
Looking at your El Cajon date. The last one at Talking Stick the week Eddie's Padre past on, was so sad for all of you. Just was too hard to get the engery pumped. His sorrow was felt by you all. 💜 SO, this one should be off the hook after this forced hiatus. Be happy and healthy 😎
Yes! It matters when the man is Raul Malo! He sings with such passion that watching him is part of the song. I love "hearing" him, but "watching" him sing brings the experience to a whole new level. But you'd have to be a woman to understand that, so we'll let you slide. ;-)
It's a Hohner diatonic accordion. It's not a concertina. It's not a button accordion. And please, refrain from calling it a "squeeze box." That is so retarded!!!
@Donna Noble DOES have a good point: Raul IS the headline artist in this song - so why the hell WAS the cameraman not focussing on him throughout??? At the same time however, the lad with the squeeze box DOES also have a lovely voice - did you miss that? All the same, overall, I agree with Donna: was the cameraman in love with the squeeze box guy, or what?!
Uh, did the cousin of the accordion player shoot this? I mean, he's good and has some pipes, but almost all of this video is focused on him and not Raul Malo, who is a god among men. Can you imagine 3/4 of a video about Prince focusing on his bass guitarist?
Patrick Murphy Get over it, Raul doesn't tell the cameraman who to cover, he is too big for that. And if you think he is a GOD, that just shows how you feel, but there is only one God.
The cameraman was only following Raul's instructions. He wanted to make the accordion the center of attention since this was such a mesmerizing Spanish gitano piece. Ya old hens need to stop getting y'all's skivvies in a bunch. It's only rock and roll and your supposed to like it.
They show this in film classes as a lesson in how not to shoot a performance. When it was over, one woman raised her hand and asked, "Did the director get a date he wanted with the accordion player?"
