me. I watched this last year then seen it on sportscenter 2day and had to make sure it was him. if the voters seen him cry n they prolly felt his pain!
your majesty mrmac215 lol it took me 2 minutes to look up the list. I scrolled two 5 names and found a black guy Eric Williams of the chargers and paylor Perez a Hispanic. Not everything is racist you victim
@@harringtonbenton334 whatever! Roger staubach is Def a hall of famer!!!! So is Drew Pearson! Drew was as good as any receiver today! And Roger was an awesome QB..a Top 10 ALL TIME QB
@@wayneoneal7952 Hey, you don't have to "whatever" me! I'm not the HOF. drew is not anywhere near the HOF in my book. But it looks like the HOF told him "whatever". That's why he's CRYING! @@MrGrace So I'm a hater for telling the truth? It sounds like you hate the truth. If he was a HOFer I would support putting him in but I don't support him blaming the HOF because for 30 years they have told him the same thing..."NO". And I don't support him being protected by red cashion (from college station, tx) all those years on the field. Or dallas fans twisting how he was erroneously put on the All Decade Team buy the teams in the south that are part of the dallas media market like atlanta and new orleans. But when he has to excel on merit he fails then cries
There are a lot of receivers past and present but who csn forget this man! Im a Steeler fan and this guy can break down a defender in a heartbeat... Passed over no more.. Good luck DP
I was a die hard Steelers fan when Drew Pearson was playing, so I viewed him as the enemy. But I always feared and respected his talent. The man deserves to be in the hall of fame.
My thoughts exactly as a Steelers fan since the 70s I think I am most happy for him getting in today he was a heck of a player and a thorn in our sides when we played them.
Amen, how could they keep Pearson out. Some of these receivers that are in, God Bless Them, but they were no where near the talent Pearson. Sorry Drew this is travesty. What was l thinking. The NFL is a no more than another Big Business with all the politics like any other. I am a Raiders fan, but right is right.
David Coulibaly the pro football hall of fame has lost all legitimacy. It’s no longer a hall of just the elite players, coaches and, executives. Now, the very good get in.
This is an example of the saying, "give me my Rose's while I can still smell them." He knows he will get in eventually, but he wants to get in while he's alive. He wants that moment with his family.
That's facts, they refuse to acknowledge you since they are the empowerment, but we need to begin our own celebrations and stop demanding from them!. He did nothing wrong...zilch. But it's a joke to satanic masonry to laugh at your weakest projected point.😈
@@johncastor5565 Yeah Guy, I was not at all a fan of theirs either, but Drew Pearson WAS THE TRUTH! He should have been in LONG before now! Still very glad for him and his famjly.....
I’ve never been a cowboys fan but if anyone on that team ever deserves to be in the HOF it’s Drew Pearson, keep your head up Drew the real fans know who you are....
Those who witnessed your talents know you are a Hall of Famer. For what it is worth. As one that watched your career. You deserve to be in that club in Ohio. No bitterness. You have respect of the fans and players that saw you play. What else truly matters? You won't be forgotten. Period.
@@toddsands6000 I was just kidding. I know he probably deserves it but there are several other players who are deserving who haven't gotten in. I just don't get why he made such a big spectacle about it.
Don't fall for those cowboy tears, he'll be alright.... Let him look at that trophy he was talking trash about when he came to Philly during the NFL Draft #FlyEaglesFly
@Shabazzrgt007 Bazz he can be rightfully upset, that's understandable.....but all the dramatics like his due date is next month is what I'm talking about. Look at Harold Carmichael.....better stats and better response to all those years of not making it. It's a way you carry yourself and just like the team he played for, nothing but drama and theatrics.
As a giants fan who despises the cowboys this man should’ve been in the hall of fame about 20 years ago they keep robbing him of the opportunity to share that moment with his family
yes, the worse thing to see was the other year, yes he made it finally, but Jerry Kraemer waited 50 years to be able to walk on that stage, his parents and siblings never got to see it though.
Steeler fan born an raised in Pittsburgh..yea I'm happy Donnie Shell got in today but in all honesty...Drew deserves in.... shuda been in ...and this was hard to watch
Good for you, sir. As a huge Drew fan, I appreciate your appreciation. The funny thing is that I always felt that Donnie Shell was getting snubbed forever. Trust me, as a Cowboys fan--especially in the 70s, I had huge respect for that once in a lifetime defense. Not a one or two year great defense, but a defense that was nails for most of a decade. Congratulations to Donnie Shell.
@@jblaze600 I live in enemy territory (Virginia) so I have to be diplomatic. LOL. Skins fans have had nothing to cheer about in recent years after they got rid of Cousins.
This is true, raw emotion. You can easily see how much being in the NFL Hall of Fame meant to Mr. Pearson. I respect the fact that he was real about it, and he didn't pretend like it wasn't a big deal to protect his pride. Truely one of the great wide receivers and men to ever play in the League 💯
DPEART6475 he probably didn’t deserve to be on the all decade team. The reality is, if you put Pearson on the field today he’d be just an average receiver. Not saying it’s right but that’s just how it goes these new voters never saw him play and crying about it won’t help him.
@@eatfarts3024 Drew Pearson is a part of 3 of the 10 greatest plays list in NFL history and you cannot mention the original Hail Mary play without his catch. Due to the media attention brought to him crying on this video he is assurred to get in. Hope your MLK Day went well.
This hurts my heart. I didn’t watch him play but we all know the feeling of utter disappointment. Someone else on the comments said it best: don’t spend your life waiting for other’s validation. Live your life with happiness and fulfillment knowing you did it your way. How many amazing scholars, inventors, warriors and artists only got their recognition posthumously. He looks like he has many great people around him so I know he’s lead a pretty good life. EDIT: just read as of August 2020 he’ll be inducted into the 2020 class!
No worries Drew. You are a major ingredient of the legendary "America's Team" era Dallas Cowboys. You will not be forgotten. They can't mention Hail Mary passes without mentioning your clutch reception.
As a well known serious Cowboy fan, Drew was definitely THE clutch receiver for us during his playing career and represented everything noble about the sport of football and the game of life. NEVER QUIT!
rhdcheme except when at the draft in Philadelphia lol wonder if he wants to thank the eagles now for allowing him to have a career in the nfl harold Carmichael > Drew Pearson all day everyday.
@@romulodelmendo8361 Yep. I was a kid living in Dallas when got a chance to meet him in person in the 80s. I was able to take a (Polaroid) pic with him that he signed. Coolest thing ever! He was so nice with everyone. I think he smiled the entire time.
Brother man you got to understand something if he's crying that's cuz he put his sweat and tears into the NFL oh, but you see to be in the Hall of Fame you got to beat your wife, or beat somebody else's wife or shoot her in the stomach is she carrying somebody else's child instead of her husband's child or run in illegal dog fighting operation if the dog don't fight well in the ring stick a hot poker up his ass and that'll make him perform better the next time, oh yeah and shoe stripping the head for not giving you a b******* at a nightclub in Miami says he didn't do all that he don't qualify because the NFL if the official wife-beating Sports League Cabo yeah I forgot to mention the NFL don't pay a dime in taxes since they are nonprofit organization those f****** boosters and alumni dies and club Owners they are the real criminals here this this man is not acting for nothing he didn't earn in the fact that he's crying show that he's a real f****** man
Sucks this generation won’t know who this was, truly one of the best to ever do it. He has every right in the world to angry, Deion Sanders was right when he said they just giving out Jackets.
SuperSuperman Pearson. You were like the 3rd comment shown on my comments. Happy to flatter though! But besides that. Hes not even considered on the ranking system. Hes about 20 pts shy of the avg wr in HOF
Mike Jay lol respect! But out of his entire all decade team he’s the only one not inducted plus out of the 17 WR’s there’s only three that have had more all pro awards than him. He have to remember the era he played in. He played a huge role in it and him Roger Staubach made the Hail Mary! I understand what you’re saying but I don’t think you’re looking at all the facts
The real 88! Drew Pearson has been nothing short of stellar for the Dallas Cowboys, the City of Dallas, the game of football itself, the N.F.L, the state of Texas and most importantly the Pearson family. We love you Mr. Pearson! You will always be a Hall of Famer to any real football fans. God did put you in Dallas for a reason and that is to be an example of poise, integrity, class, and determination that is unmatched .
I still can't believe he's been lamenting over this for 30 years!! Man, you have what appears to be a beautiful family. If everyone is in decent health, then be happy. Your soul can't be fulfilled by mere mortals.
To be honest I thought he was in the hall of fame like he was great during his career with roger stabach and one of the reasons why they won Super Bowls in the 70s
Mr. Pearson I remember watching you play. You were the epitome of grace when you caught the ball. As upsetting as this is to you, be mindful of the fact that there are a lot of players who may be HOF worthy, but are not in. True fans who saw you play can acknowledge how good you were. You can walk and speak coherently Many former players today suffer from brain injuries. Be thankful you can walk and speak clearly. Always remember many were not good enough to play in the NFL, but you were and you had a stellar career...
Well unlike some NFL players he doesn't beat his wife oh, and he doesn't beat somebody else's wife and he hasn't gotten somebody else's wife pregnant but his own wife and he doesn't run in illegal dog fighting Ring went to prison did got right back into the NFL after a prison sentence over with oh brother any didn't shoot some stripper at a nightclub who refused to give him a b******* yeah I said us about right you don't need to be in the Hall of Fame f*** the official wife-beating network of the NFL
That’s how they do black players. They don’t this with the white players! They give them their flowers while they are here and praise them for being one of the the greats. That way they can make money off of the fame. We have to die first. The NFL is not fair to black players!
@John Pottorgg What you're saying dosen't make sense. There's no way I'm going to spend 30 yrs waiting for someone to validate my work. Who care if less are in?? Life isn't fair either. Drive on!
Houston Asterisks super bowl champion and multiple first team all pro you fucking idiot he played in the 70’s guys in the 90s and 00’s would be considered “has beens” this guy accomplished it all have some respect ass wipe.
Big Bucks Harold Carmichael perfected the back shoulder fade he was unstoppable he was better and more influential to the game just watch the tape and look at the stats. Meanwhile Drew Tearson is crying.
Well Terrell Owens, if that is what TO means, I mean dude really is top 10 all time, maybe Arguably top 5. Rice. C. Johnson Moss. (Owens, Largent, Hutson, Carter)
Drew Pearson won 1 Super Bowl, made 3 Pro Bowls along with 3 First-Team All-Pro's and a Second-Team All-Pro, and made the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team and led the NFL in recieving yards in 1977, he did all those great things with the Dallas Cowboys, and he is in their Ring of Honor. He had 489 receptions, 7,822 receiving yards, and 48 touchdowns spending 10 years with the Cowboys from 1973-1983. Induct this man into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I think he will get in, in 2021.
Datonerman26 I would be considered an"OG" and I remember when Drew Pearson came out of the University of Tulsa. He came out in the" 73" draft class as a undraft player because he played Quarterback in college. They converted him to wide receiver because they really didn't want black players as a Quarterbacks back then.
This is what we need, pure raw emotion. I actually feel bad for the guy. No acting, just raw feelings...... Btw, after looking up his stats he deserved it
Get real… He made sure everyone saw this video so he would be able to garner enough sympathy to get the votes he needed. Why else would anyone put a video like this on RU-vid? This was a stunt and it worked, but it tarnished his legacy, big time. No one else would do this unless they were desperate. A (what should be) private moment with family and friends made public for one reason.
He is a legend he's also the classiest guy I've ever met in my life! Agree Rodger would have been Rodger without an outstanding receiver like Drew! The 90s Cowboys can only wish they were as good as the 70s Cowboys! Hall of Fame put this man in as soon as possible it's an injustice that everybody else is in there before him especially the 90s Cowboys like Jimmy Johnson Troy Aikman Michael Irvin and all those Jokers what a joke!
You have the right to be upset Drew, this just doesn't make any sense. And I can tell you this I was upset when Dallas gave Irvin your number. We love you man. I'm so sorry. god bless you and your family.
How could they not induct him then. Man lead the lead In Receptions. He’s Super Bowl champ. He was a bad man in his day. As a long time dallas fan Thank you for all that you did. You were awesome.
@@IceWhiteice22 well i guess he feel like he deserved it and had the numbers or somebody told him he was going in this time? but make no mistake he belongs in there point blank & period.
Mr Drew, I cant tell u why after 30 years u not there yet. But what I know is : u were and still are the best.God will open that door brother, it will be beautiful.
Drew, I watched you for years and in my opinion you DESERVE TO BE IN THE HALL OF FAME!!! You were AND STILL ARE always my favorite COWBOY! LOVE TO YOU & FAM!
@Keith Thomas Should I as an Eagles fan say i liked Irvin getting hurt? No I won't stoop so low. Pearson should be in. But there are a lot of other guys who should be in as well.

@@IAAP. Marshall played in a ton of (consecutive) games....that's about it. Was never the best player on his own D-line. But if Fred Dean is in....Marshall might belong there too.
That's because he doesn't beat his wife or somebody else's wife and he doesn't run in illegal dog fighting ring in which if a dog don't perform will they stick a hot poker up the dog's ass to make him fight better the next time and he doesn't do cocaine and shoot a stripper that won't give him a b****** the NFL is the official wife-beating Network
I guess anyone can get into the HOF. Drew is not a HOF, not even close. Stats don’t lie. Has under 8,000 yards receiving and under 50 touchdowns. He was a great player and has a lot of love for the game.
You cant compare stats of Drews era to modern stats. First of all they didnt throw nearly as much as they do now. Secondly in Drews day a defender could manhandle a receiver from the time the ball was snapped all the way through to when the ball got to the receiver. Today you cant go anywhere near a receiver or they will call pass interference. Drew would have those gaudy numbers if he played today.
@@thomasp3865 You’re definitely right about the era but to me it doesn’t make sense for him to have those numbers when your quarterback is Roger Staubach! There’s no excuses when you have one if the best quarterbacks of all time and the best versatile running back of all time Tony Dorsett. Tony Dorsett was able to put numbers and was getting crushed play after play. Drew was just good and not great. And that’s the problem with the HOF a lot of people are getting in.
To me Drew is one of those borderline cases for making the HOF. I agree he wasnt great but he was very good. I agree too that the HOF should be only for the greats but at the same time there are receivers in the HOF that Drew was definitely better than. I think for example Drew was just as good as another Cowboy, Michael Irvin, who is in the hall.
There would never be a Michael Irvin if it wasn't for Drew Pearson🌹 2 of the baddest WIDE RECEIVER'S to ever play the game. Mr. Pearson DESERVES to be recognized in the Hall of Fame; should have been inducted 20 yrs ago if you ask me.
It's something all the greats dream of,they strived to be the best, and they deserved to have the careers end with that Induction, shame on the people who didn't vote him in, he was before Dez Bryant, Jerry Rice, lyn Swan, he deserve it
