That must have been a lot of hummus haha. The Vitamix is huge. How is the blender with smaller quantities? We had the Ninja and it always struggled with smaller quantities
@@Yes2LifeShow The Vitamix is mighty and can handle almost anything, but I was pushing my luck as chickpeas can get heavy if you're not careful. Of course smaller quantities is fine and easy. I've had the Vitamix since 2011. They are very durable and work great. The company is also very good with service and warranty.
Is it also ok to just use 12 hours+ soaked chickpeas instead of sprouted? I wonder because I heard someone doing that but Id like to have your view aswell because its such a contoversal topic...
You want them to fully sprout if you're not cooking them. Your body will not like them at all if you eat them (essentially) raw. Same for all legumes I believe. Cooking OR sprouting eliminates the lectins that cause this issue. Some people cook the sprouted lentils but I think that defeats the purpose/benefits. Raw sprouted lentils and grains are jam packed with a boat load of nutrients that are immediately diminished by cooking (and eventually time). Traditional hummus is great. Sprouted raw hummus is a true superfood, imo.
Did you sprout the beans first or you just used raw beans? Raw beans and chickpeas are toxic, so I wouldn't it eat in that case. We used sprouted chickpeas for this recipe
I feel terrible eating, killing, cooking things that are clearly alive. I guess its unavoidable. It's like when u pick up a potato or piece of ginger that started to sprout. Its clearly alive and u just chop it up or boil it 😩 I guess this explains the verse in the Bhagavad Gita 3.13
