If im paying top $ for ray bans i want Italian made ones!!

yeah, I was bummed when I saw that on my Clubmasters

I bought a pair from ray-ban website. Original 2140 wayfarer, they say made in italy on the box and frames but were shipped from china. They seem a little smaller than before. Am a bit confused by the whole situation.

Bought some glasses off the Official Ray-Ban website, RB6335 series, and they say made in China. It has all the logos in the right places and such. Do you have a complete list or know which ones exactly are produced in Italy and which ones are in China?

I recently bought RB3387 and a RB3267, it says made in China. So these two models are also being made in Italy? If yes, is there any difference in quality and consequent difference in prices?

My fiancé bought some large size clubmaster sunglasses that were made in Italy a couple years ago. They got a little worn out so he just bought some optics large size clubmasters made in China. They say they are same size but the Chinese ones seem to be a little smaller as the bottom of the lense doesn’t hang down as low on his face as the Italian ones. He is kinda upset about it and we can’t figure out why they are that different. He has always ever order sunglasses and then just had normal glasses lenses put in them. This is the first time he ever ordered the normal glasses ones. I think he is going to get his prescription lenses in them and see if he likes them then idk

Bought made in China aviator by accident and they are not the same quality IMO. I own both of the same pair and the China are Crap and even broke. Not to mention the Chinese ones should be half the cost.

made in Italy is the most authentic types made, ones in China are copy’s made with cheaper materials for half the prices and half the trade marks, notice real ones always say made in italy somtimes twice

when I bought my rb frames they were not cheap. and I didn't care. I want my frames from Italy. Made in China is so wrong. makes my expensive frames cheap.

I put my clubmaster's right back in the case and box and returned them as soon as I saw "Made in China". If I wanted sunglasses made in China I'd buy some at Walgreen's! I felt deceived to be honest.

I have two pairs of club masters aluminums, one from Italy and one from China. You can definitely feel that there is a difference. The Italian made one feels heavier and thicker on the frames. Very disappointed...

Please note that italian law allows companies such as Luxottica to write " made in Italy " on the inside of the temples if the lat part of the work is made in Italy, So glasses can be interily be made somewhere else, then they are importe to Italy, they get for examples nosepads screwed on, and the company is allowed to call that made in Italy. same thing happens with clothing and many other goods. Honest manufactoreres write the real origin of the goods , as there are also good manufactorers in China, Romania, Korea etc etc....

Here's something to understand about China that most people dont comprehend,the Chinese can make a really nice product ,they only go by what the person in charge (the man with the cash) tells them to do, if you tell them "i want you to make me some pencils that I'm going to sell in America and i want to sell them for a dollar but i want them to cost me 10 cents" they will be happy to do them for you just as long as they make at least a nickle in the process, the problem with this is you will have a shitty product,whose fault is it? follow the money and you will figure it out.

Made in China ones are not great compared to the made in Italy !!! I have the made in Italy cluroubds and hands down better! Ray ban won’t tell you where to get the made in Italy ones which is wrong of them. Of course who wants stuff made in China we all want Italian made! They charge the same amount too like we’re stupid. I really don’t want something made in China it sounds cheap and they treat animals bad there.

even if luxottica made the chinese glasses they're still radically overpriced for chinese glasses. whether or not they're italian is way more important than whether or not it was a luxottica chinese factory or some other chinese factory. only an idiot pays name brand prices for chinese glasses.

Sorry to meddle, but my opinion of chinese R&B is not favorable at all. What bothers me is that you pay for the brand posted on a chinese product, instead of the nice "optical instruments" B&L used to offer as sunglasses. So the profit margen is insane. That is why I rather scout Ebay for vintage and in great condition B&L Ray Bans. Great deals there, instead of more plastic crap from China. Would like to see how many chinese RBans will be on ebay in 30 years.

Even if both are real, having Made in Italy labeled on the sunglasses just makes it EXTRA AUTHENTIC and RELIABLE.

At $200 +/- a pop they should ALL be Made in Italy!!!! I was comparing my brand new Ray Ban eyeglasses to a similar looking set of China made reading classes in Walmart and they were virtually identical. Not even kidding. $20 vs $200 = SCAM!

Besides the same quality, I purchase a product for its brand. Everyone knows that Chinese products are cheap and that’s why psychologically I feel rejection even if I buy directly from Ray-Ban website because I don’t expect that my product has that negative recognition as well. If one day I want to sell my sunglasses made in China I think it would very difficult to find a buyer...

The assembly in China is awful. They may use the same materials. The price to be assembled in China is probably 1/2 the cost for Italy's assemblage. Does the price reflect the much cheeper labor cost? I spent one hour at Nordstrom's looking at the Club Master which are made in China. Typical China. Not straight. One side is different than the other. If you are a knit picker you'll spot the terrible work.

What a crock of BS I don't care what Ray Ban or your review claims about the quality of the Luxottica made in China vs the Italian made versions prior to 1999 I have two Ray Ban Outdoorsman, one I purchased in 1988, and I still have them, and they are so high in quality that they are immune to scratches and are pristine as the day I bought them, the only wear on them is I once bit on the ear wrap, but that's the only defect after YEARS of day to day use. I also have the same pair of Ray Bans Outdoorsmans that I bought after 1999 and they ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same. They look the same, but the post 1999 Ray Bans scratched EASILY, and the brow bar literally fell off the Chinese made Outdoorsmans, not from a fall nor abuse, but because they are not on par with the Italian made version. My best friend's wife owned a Authorized Ray ban and Maui Jim retail store, they were genuine, that's where I bought the Chinese made Ray Bans. The Italian made Ray bans I bought at a mall. I do not believe this reviewer, not one bit as it's simply not true. On a sidenote, last year I bought a pair of Maui Jim Makahas. Now these are a bigger turkey than even the made in China Ray Bans. I dropped them one time on concrete, they didnt slide, just a quick slip out of my hand, dang if these didnt get the biggest scratch from that 2' fall. I will never buy another Maui Jim as they are absolute garbage, just like I will never buy a Chinese made Ray Bans, been there, done that, not doing it again. I don't mind paying the price for higher end sunglasses if they're quality, but these days, finding quality robust glasses are few and far between. My Ray Ban Outdoorsmans that were made in Italy probably fell tens of dozens of times onto hard surfaces over the years, and they are still pristine with perfect lenses.

I bought some raybans at the optician they are a certified rayban reseller. But they are made in china. But still they are original. People are going crazy if it doesnt say made in italy. No one is going to look at that when you are wearing them..
