Ray Charles performing his well known song "It had to be you" live in 1998 at the Polar Music Prize. Ray Charles received the prize in 1998 along with Ravi Shankar.
Such a beautiful song. There is no happiness in this life, without pain coming before it. The reason we suffer is to experience happiness. That’s what Ray sings about in this song. A woman that gives him grief, allows him to experience true happiness. A woman that doesn’t give him grief, will never allow him to experience that.
I don't know of any other singer who can make you laugh and cry in the same damn song. He really was a Genius. His movements from the audience and the reaction of the royals are priceless.
