From the show: A Man and His Soul. This show was celebrating Ray's 40 years in showbusiness. It was taped in The Coconut Grove Night Club of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, August 1983. A part of the show was broadcasted by the German TV on ZDF.

I’ve been in love with Joe Cocker since I wa s13…and I’m 65. Played Ray Charles at my mother’s funeral…what a duo….fills my heart.

Susan!! Me too!!!! And I’m 66! 😂😂😂. I had a 6foot poster of Joe on my wall!! He 😮is absolutely one of a very precious kind of human being. May he rest peace . I hope and pray we get to see him in heaven!!! In Jesus name, amen. 🙏😊

I love how Ray tells Joe to "sing it" at 2:16 - none of the modern artists "ego" and trying to outshine the other artist... the hallmark of two self-assured and great artist - with a mutual respect for one another!

I sang this to my ex-husband at our wedding in 1986. I chose the song as I was nervous and thought if I chose any other song, I'd forget the words. Not this one. "You are so beautiful to me." And that's about it. Still, it is a total classic.
