Are false converts to Christianity like dogs in vomit or pigs in mud? Is the test of a false conversion the lack of fruit or obedience in one's life? Is the presence of sin evidence that one is a false convert. Bob Wilkin of the Grace Evangelical Society examines the claims of Ray Comfort and Todd Friel and tells us how we can know for sure that we have everlasting life and that we are not a false convert.

I came back to my faith after a prodigal experience brought on by divorce after 10 years in 2019. I was looking for resources to help me find my way back. I found the Calvanist and works based salvation people in droves online and it was utterly exhausting and confusing. I've had to find my way back to grace through faith recently and am thankful I did because I was mind numbingly tired.

False converts are not believers in Christ who others view as living a poor Christian life. False converts are those who are trusting that Jesus will save them on some basis other than faith in His finish redemptive work.

False converts are those who say I believe in John 3:16 and continue living no different than before, while somehow thinking that a change of lifestyle is trying to do it yourself rather than just claiming to trust in Christ. Paul says Repent of sin and have faith and show evidence of your repentance by your works/lifestyle.

@@2Chronicles714_ You wrote: _"False converts are those who say I believe in John 3:16 and continue living no different than before"_ When you think about it, the phrase _"false convert"_ is an oxymoron, since the phrase _"true convert"_ is a redundancy. I mean, either a guy is a convert, or he is not. So, if he is a convert, then it is true that he is a convert, and you could call him "a true convert", but what's the point of throwing in the superfluous word, "true", when you could have just called him "a convert"? And, if he is not a convert, then, of course, it is false that he is a convert. But why use an oxymoronic phrase like "a false convert", since he is not a convert? Why do that when you can just call him "a non-convert"? Now, regarding John 3:16: either a man is a convert to John 3:16, or he is not. That is, either he believes John 3:16, or he does not believe John 3:16. Now, you spoke of people who say _"I believe John 3:16."_ Perhaps not every person who says _"I believe John 3:16"_ is a person who believes John 3:16. If so, all that means is that some people who say they believe John 3:16 are not converts to John 3:16. Now, of anyone who is not a convert to John 3:16, obviously it is false that he/she is a convert to John 3:16; but why use the oxymoronic phrase, "a false convert", to refer to someone who is not a convert? It is true that a cat is not a dog, and false that a cat is a dog, but would you consider it reasonable to call cats, "false dogs"? No. Why, then, would you think it any more reasonable to call someone of whom it is false that he/she is a convert, "a false convert"? _"...and continue living no different than before"_ Before _what?_ If you are talking about a convert, then do you mean _before conversion?_ And, if you are talking about a non-convert -- someone who has not converted -- then, I especially ask: *Before **_what?_*

Millions have turned from their sins. Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow,brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life. Repentance is not an emotion. Its more than being grieved or feeling sorry about my sin and even having remorse. God wants the person to make a decision of the heart and mind [the will] to turn away from sin. Your life was going in one direction [sin] and you make a decision by faith to take your life in the opposite direction with His help. It is making a genuine 180° change of heart recognizing that sin(s) is against God. By turning from our sins to God we acknowledge we have disobeyed God. We have violated His law, offended his moral purity, tried to cast off his yoke of authority. It requires that we admit we have turned from God to sin.That is faith. Repent means change your mind about your sinfulled life ALL SINS INCLUDING UNBELIEF, false gods, witchcraft, self righteousness etc. After repentance there must be a genuine change of life because living in sin is disobedience and rebellion against God and the end result will be destruction of the soul in hell. There must be a change in conduct and how you live. You don't have to remember every sin, Jesus knows them all. Confess ongoing sins, and ask for deliverance of them and forgiveness of all sins. Repentance turning from sin - is a prelude to holiness. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord. Walking in holiness begins with repentance.We should think about it as a lifetime daily discipline of our faith, necessary for a holy life. Matthew 6:9-14. None of us are sinless.

@@2Chronicles714_ You wrote: _"God wants the person to make a decision of the heart and mind [the will] to turn away from sin."_ And what if the person does not do whatever it is you are calling _"to make a decision of the heart and mind [the will] to turn away from sin"?_ Now, is that two decisions: 1) _"a decision of the heart",_ and 2) _"a decision of the mind"?_ Or, is that only one decision, a decision of the heart/mind (since the heart is the mind/the mind is the heart)? And, by your phrase, _"to make a decision",_ what do you mean if not _to believe some particular truth?_ You wrote: _"After repentance there must be a genuine change of life"_ Interesting. So, you do not use the word "repentance" and your phrase "a genuine change of life" interchangeably, it seems. Otherwise, what you said, there, would be: _"After repentance there must be [repentance]"_ / _"After [a genuine change of life] there must be a genuine change of life"._ Which, of course, would be kind of an odd thing for you to say, no? You wrote: _"you make a decision by faith"_ Is not _"make a decision"_ simply a synonym for _"believe"?_ So that, what you are saying, here, is: _"you [believe] by faith"?_ But, since faith is nothing more or less than believing, it seems all you are saying by _"you make a decision by faith"_ is that _"you [believe] by [believing]"._

@alltimeislikethepresent Let me give you a biblical example of what repentance means. The Bible calls on men to repent of their sins and believe the gospel. What does it mean to repent? In Greek it is defined as to change one's mind. It means more than we can conceive in our culture today. To understand the reference of mind in the Bible, it connects with the heart as the very controlling center of the person.It is the control center of emotions, our intellect, and our decision making process. So what Jesus is saying when you have changed your mind, everything else will change, especially your conduct along with it. A perfect description of repentance is the Apostle Paul. When he was on the road to Damascus he had orders to capture christians, Paul believed Jesus of Nazareth was the biggest blasphemer who ever walked the planet, he also thought christians were a terrible sect that ought to be destroyed. That's what he thought, and then on the road to Damascus, he had an encounter with the resurrected Jesus, and what happened? His thinking changed, which caused a changed life. His entire reality was proved to be wrong. Everything he thought about reality, especially with regard to God, was wrong.He recognized he was wrong and began to think completely different, he now thought Jesus was the Son of God the long awaited Messiah and he surrendered to Jesus's Lordship and served Him the rest of his life. Paul should be our example.

Luke 9:62, in the New International Version (NIV), states: "Jesus replied, 'No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'" This verse is part of Jesus' teachings and emphasizes the commitment required to follow Him. The metaphor of putting a hand to the plow and looking back conveys the idea that discipleship involves steadfast focus and dedication. Those who start following Jesus but then turn back or are preoccupied with what they've left behind are likened to someone unfit for service in the kingdom of God. It underscores the importance of resolute commitment in following Jesus and not being swayed by distractions or attachments to the past.

Until a person realizes how wicked there hearts are I can't see how they can understand Grace. Godly sarrow works repentance that leads to salvation. I use my testimony with the way of the master to share the Gospel. When you can get a deceitful heart to say it's a liar thief adulterer fornicator murderer blasphemer. And watch the law open there eyes. And then share the Good news with them. It's amazing Timothy ;The law is good if used properly. Most people categorize sin and don't like to look at individual sins. They call themselves a sinner and everyone does it, but they don't take responsibility for it.they usually justify just like I did before.God laid my sins bare before me. When I seen how wicked I was I asked for forgiveness and meant it. Jesus entered my room I could see the holes in hands.he wrapped his arms around me. The peace and love you feel in the presence of God is undescribable. If anyone has experienced grace and been in the presence of the Lord. I asked him why He lt me see him and He told me He hugs everyone of his children.

In my youth, my pastor always taught, "God accepts you the way you are, but He doesn't leave you that way". This means it is up to God to change you (sanctification). This process is different for everyone. Some progress faster than others, but all progress. Even if Ray and Todd are right, it is not the believer's behavior that sanctifies him, but God's continued grace. Somewhere (I believe it's in Colossians) the Bible teaches us, "Just as you accepted Christ, so walk in Him". The whole process of salvation (spirit, soul and body) is by grace and not works.

The Bible states 1 sin gets you into hell, by 1 sin you’ve broken ALL of the law, so what’s the difference between a believer who lives a sinful life and a Christian who lives an almost ‘perfect’ life? Nothing! Because by sinning once they have broken ALL of the law! Jesus is the only one who is perfect.

Can people see since the moment of your conversion that God is working in your life to make you Holy? Philippians 2:13 For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Can you see that? When you look at the world and maybe it decieves you,and draws you to it,that God comes and disciplines you? When you participate in sin you can't stand it because the Holy Spirit is so convicting you. Or can you call yourself Christian and still look like the world, act like the world,talk like the world,dress like the world,do everything that the world does? 1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world. 17And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. He's going to little by little remove from you,your desire and fellowship with the world, and the lust thereof and He's going to replace that with a desire and a fellowship with Christ. Philippians 2:12-15 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. 14Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 That you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. Since your supposed conversion are you growing in your devotion to God,and your love for Christ? Are you growing in Holiness, striving for Holiness or are you the same person that you were when you began? 1 Peter1:14-17 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15but as he who has called you holy also be holy in all your conduct, 16since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile Do you still love the world? James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. @bradmccoy7996. Blanket statements like that are like never and always. The thief on the cross was saved by faith without a single fruit of any kind being visible. Foxhole conversions don’t show works, neither do deathbed conversions. But they occur and are real faith.

In the passage that says “ you will know them by their fruits” who is Jesus speaking about… read the context. Taking up your cross and following Christ is discipleship, it’s a daily process of being conformed into Christ’s image. Putting off the flesh and following after the spirit, this is not salvation. Faith without works is dead, meaning it’s unprofitable and of no use to others. Doesn’t mean faith without works isn’t faith, otherwise the verse wouldn’t make any sense at all, James would say “ Faith without works doesn’t exist” but he doesn’t, he knows it does happen which is why he is encouraging believers to add to their faith. We are saved by grace through faith apart from works ( faith alone), but we will not be profitable if our faith does not produce works.

Fake news!! And let me ask you a question…how is that “holiness” going for you? It is obvious you don’t understand the Gospel, and unfortunately you are not saved until you do understand that it is a FREE gift, that you CANNOT earn. Christ took on the penalty of YOUR sins to satisfy God’s wrath IN YOUR PLACE. All you have to do to be saved is believe and trust in that. If you do, salvation is a one time event, certainly not a lifelong “process” based on your works or your self proclaimed “holiness”. Put your faith in the Savior today and not your self.

@@bndwoodlands775 OSAS is, along with any other eternal security doctrine such as Calvinism, a false doctrine. We are not saved by our works we are saved by grace, but we are saved *for the purpose of* good works as Ephesians 2:10 tells us. Matthew 28:19-20 tells us that the gospel is everything Jesus taught and commanded. There are 1,050 commandments in the New Testament, they are there to be followed. Jesus said if you love me, keep the commandments (John 14:15). The Bible tells us in 1 John 3:6 that sinners do not know God and John 9:31 tells us that God does not hear the prayers of sinners. Sin distances us from God. Jesus said, I came to call not the righteous but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32), proving that repentance of sin is required. Otherwise if repentance was only referring to changing one's mind from unbelief to belief as OSAS believers claim, that verse would be saying that the righteous are not offered salvation which of course would be ridiculous. Be ye holy as I am holy (1 Peter 1:16). Be ye perfect as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48). The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9). Revelation 21:8 tells us that all sinners go to the lake of fire as unbelief is listed as a separate sin, proving that it's not only unbelievers that go to hell. Read Hebrews 5:9 and Acts 5:32. All of God's promises are to the faithful. Jesus said He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5), and He said that branches not bearing good fruit are *cut off and thrown into the fire* (Matthew 7:19, see also John 15:2). He also said that if we don't forgive others God will not forgive us (Matthew 6:15 and Mark 11:26), if we are not forgiven we are not going to Heaven. Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Thanks, Bob for the clear explanation. Of course, I knew what you were going to say because I've read a number of your books as well as those of other Free Grace Evangelicals. In fact, I wrote my MA thesis titled "An Examination of the Implications for Christian Life and Liberty Stemming from Two Evangelical Views of the Gospel." The two views compared were the Free Grace view and the traditional Reformed view. A summary follows: "A critical point of departure occurs over the content of saving faith and whether saving faith always produces a change that is manifested in a visible expression of spiritual fruit and good works. Evangelicals who advocate for the simple gospel as defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 are sometimes accused of preaching a deficient message of “easy-believism” that promotes a libertarian or antinomian lifestyle. Moreover, it is argued, that a gospel lacking a call to turn from sin may result in so-called believers who are not genuinely saved. Advocates of the simple gospel share the concern regarding the decline of moral behavior in the body of Christ. However, they do not agree that adding subjective conditions to the gospel will provide the needed remedy, nor will leading believers to continually question the authenticity of their faith by gauging their behavior against specific values or standards. These schemes may lead to debilitating doubts and spiritual defeat. A gospel message that incorporates subjective elements that provide little or no assurance can scarcely be called good news. A different, but similarly undesirable consequence may emerge from this. Upon successfully conquering some major sin in his life, a new believer, may not come to see how lesser sins, even very minor ones, will hamper the working of the Holy Spirit in his life and thus delay and diminish his spiritual growth. His Christian walk will be characterized by mediocrity."

@@grizz4489 I saw this video of Bob's, and I can say that his explanation is way oversimplified and doesn't really nail the meaning of what the term "lordship salvation" actually is. Like the detractors who created that term, (it was not created by John MacArthur), Bob explains it in a way that appears to say that, CHRIST'S LORDSHIP is "required" in order to be saved! Nothing could be further from the truth. What the LORDSHIP OF CHRIST IN SALVATION actually means, is that the fruit of salvation results in CHRIST being viewed as LORD over every aspect of our walk. Yes we sin from time to time, however, we don't just shrug our shoulders and take sin lightly. We should display an immediate response of CONFESSION and repentance, knowing that we have HIS forgiveness, as promised in 1 John 1:9, and 1 John2:1, and continue on in our sanctification. Along the way over time, we should see a progression of sinning less. Adhering to the scriptures in an attitude of seriousness is not likened to "works" salvation. It is the natural growth pattern of a committed believer, (Romans 12:1). JESUS said in John 14:15, "If you love ME, you will keep my commandments", (see also:1John 2:3-6)!" This is not about earning salvation, but the reasonable display of behavior of the regenerate person who is growing in sanctification. Bob appears to have a very antinomian view of salvation, but I don't believe he is quite understanding of the topic, going by the explanation that I saw from him. Our assurance of salvation is what JESUS completed on the cross, however, watching HIM change our lives in the most miraculous way and having it displayed by an ever growing love for HIM along with a desire to see HIM glorified in our lives, by our obedience, simply gives credence to that assurance. BTW - You can check out Bob's video for yourself, here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-msWsC0srUas.htmlsi=PEkd15-53vgQ7Fw2

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:26‭-‬31 KJV But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 2 Peter 2:1‭-‬6 KJV Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Ephesians 5:1‭-‬6 KJV And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. Excerpt from "The Spirit of Antichrist: Decoupling Jesus from the Christ" by Zane Hodges faithalone.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/hodges-the-spirit-of-the-antichrist-edited.pdf B. FAITH IN JESUS SAVES As you can see, the Gospel of John teaches that people are saved by believing in Jesus. Not by believing in God. Not by believing in an unknown Messiah. But by believing in Jesus. Regardless of how people were saved in the OT, this is how they are saved now. This is certainly not contradicted by John 5:24. We are used to reading that verse this way: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word [and believes in Him who sent Me] has everlasting life” (emphasis added). But the first thing we must notice is that there is nothing in the Greek to correspond to the word “in.” So we really should read the verse like this: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word [and believes Him who sent Me] has everlasting life.” Notice carefully: the believer hears Jesus’ word and, when he believes it, he is believing the God who sent Jesus. The point is, of course, that Jesus’ word is God’s word. To believe Jesus’ word is to believe what God says. This is an important point for John. Take, for example, John 12:48-50. Jesus says: He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him-the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak. Or again, in John 8:28, we read: When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, so I speak these things. As my former Greek students will all know (I hope!), John’s characteristic phrase for the faith that brings eternal life is pisteuo„ eis. This is usually rendered by our English versions as “believe in” or “believe on.” But pisteuo„ eis is not found in John 5:24. (Instead we find pisteuo„n to„) It was a mistake for the translators to use the words “believe in” (or, on: KJV) in John 5:24. John never makes God the Father the Object of pisteuo„ eis. John’s point is not that we can “believe in” God for eternal life just like we do when we “believe in” Jesus for that. On the contrary, his point is that when we believe Jesus’ word we are, in fact, believing something God Himself is saying to us. And of course, faith in Jesus’ word is still faith in Jesus. But obviously, the saving experience of John 5:24 cannot come to someone who has never heard Jesus’ word. No matter what he believes about the Creator, the heathen person still needs to hear the message brought by the Savior whom the Creator has sent. And note well: when the unsaved person believes the word of Jesus, he is not simply believing God, but he is believing the God who sent Jesus! To put it plainly, God apart from Jesus is never the Object of the faith that brings eternal life.

🇻🇳 I received some useful information from you. Thank you.And I would like to respond- Firstly, it's about the context of the question. This is a question about the church and those church members who have bad or wrong lifestyles. I think as you mentioned the Gospels Ray did not speak. Likewise, the lives of believers are not mentioned in the books you mentioned. That is, the subject of the question is answered with an opinion answer for the unbeliever (which Ray practices regularly). And you are the answer of faith pointing to Jesus. I think at each stage, you and Ray are each being called by God to your goals. And he and you both have a target audience for communication. I don't have a problem with faith, nor do I have a problem with being a carnal Christian. I am reminded and learn from both, and I don't see any contradiction.

Who in their right mind would want to become a Christian just to continue sinning freely? When I was an atheist, I sinned without feeling bad. Now I still sin but feel bad about it. So it's absurd to claim people become Christian just to keep sinning as Comfort and Friel claim. They mix salvation in with discipleship. Salvation is free. Discipleship comes afterwards and is voluntary.

@@letstalktech96 1 Corinthians 5:5 It outlines the process of church discipline. Apparently, the sinning wife has already responded with repentance but not the stepson. So the apostle Paul was giving Satan freedom to afflict the body by following the process of church discipline. The ultimate end could be the stepson's death if necessary. That his body might be shook, buffeted, afflicted, and tortured in a terrible manner; that by this means he might be brought to a sense of his sin, to repentance for it, and make an humble acknowledgment of it: that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus; that he might be renewed in the spirit of his mind, be restored by repentance, and his soul be saved in the day of Christ; either at death, when soul and body would be separated, or at the day of the resurrection, when both should be reunited; for the flesh here means, not the corruption of nature, in opposition to the spirit, as a principle of grace, but the body, in distinction from the soul: nor was the soul of this man, only his body, delivered for a time unto satan; the end of which was, that his soul might be saved, (which could never be done by delivering it up to satan).

@TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel No, if we quit believing we will incur God's temporal chastisement in this earthly life and experience a forfeiture of eternal rewards at the future Bema Judgment Seat of Christ, but our eternal salvation remains intact and untouched. 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 - 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: BUT HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire.

@TheKeesBoerMinistryChannel It is the false doctrine of Arminianism/Lordship Salvation that asserts that if a Christian stops believing that he/she will "lose their salvation" and go to hell. This is based upon a very faulty understanding and eisegesis of such passages like Luke 8:6-7/Luke 8:13-14, Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, Hebrews 10:38-39, John 15:2,6, 1 Corinthians 9:27, 2 Corinthians 13:5, Philippians 2:12, Revelation 3:5, etc, where these passages are all taken out of context and misapplied. On the opposite side of the same coin, the false doctrine of Calvinism/Lordship Salvation will assert that if a Christian stops believing, then that person "was never saved to begin with" and is a "false professor with non saving faith". This again, is also based upon the same passages that are taken out of context and eisegeted.

@The keesBeor Simply read your Bible You can't lose your salvation. When you lose something, it means you don't know how it happened. You can most definitely forfeit salvation meaning you went back to a life of continuous unrepentant sin, with no desire to change. According to dozens of passages, this would mean you forfeited your salvation. Matthew 24:13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Hebrews 3:6-19 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, IF indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory., as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, IF you hear his voice, 8do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, 9where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. 10That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ 11So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” 12 See to it brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ, IF indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. 15As has just been said: “Today, IF you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” 16. Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest IF not to those who disobeyed? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. Colossians 1:22-23 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation 23 (IF) you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. Revelation 3:5 He that OVERCOMETH, THE SAME SHALL BE CLOTHED IN WHITE RAIMENT; and I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, but I WILL CONFESS HIS NAME BEFORE MY FATHER, and before HIS angels.

it does day God is the judge of all (abraham called God this before He sent angels to investigate sodom and gomorrah) and it does say God is not mocked, those who sow to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption that said, the more i read the bible, it does seem like there is some work/effort involved. We are saved by grace, through faith, our works alone cannot save us. If Jesus had not come, no amount of our 'good' deeds coild ever help us get to heaven. However, if you look at the Lord Lord scriptures, it appears that isnt enougj to just "call" God and Jesus our God and Lord, but faith without works is dead. Salvation technically only comes through what Jesus did, but it seems to be seen as acceptable and chosen by God, theres an element of doing the Father's will, being known by God, not practicing lawlessness (which seems to say not regularly committing sin, but then also not hyoer grace, that is not just doing what many ppl do, merely say a prayer and then go about living their own lives, sinning, and doing their own thing. That also might be lawlessness (refusing God's law and rule over your life)) the fear of the Lord is the beginning kf wisdom, jesus gave a very serious picture of how we should be tresting sin. Hebrrws says we are not to be regularly sinning otherwise there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin. Unforgiveness looks like it can also stop salvation, see parable of great debtor, and the Lords prayer. Parable of wise and foolish virgins, half were ready/wise/prudent, the other half were foolish/unprepared and look to have been left behind doers of the word, not merely hearers who deceive themselves. Faith requires action, i see it like, its belief in something enough that it actually changes how you live. Everyone knows its good to exercise and eat healthy, that knowledge is useless if it is not applied God will one day separate sheep and goats, the qualifier being our actions. If anyrhing, that shows you some of what God really cares about. Post Jesus, the Revelations churches, God speaks correction over them. A fair bit of the nt is speaking correction to believers. Paul turned one man/believer who was committing atrocious sexual sin, "over to satan", why? That his soul might be saved. Implying it could hace been lost/unsaved had he continued in sin. True repentance isn't just saying sorry for sin, it's changing your thinking, turning away from sin/evil, and towards God and the things of God (not remaining in or making a habit/practice of sin/lawlessness, it seems). To say, its a fallacy to think we're immediately perfect on salvation, or that its OSAS once saved always saved. Otherwise, you have to explain how the Lord Lord scriptures can be explained. Many will say on that day...i never knew you, depart from Me many churches preach a hyper grace message, implying kr claiming God doesnt care about how we live or act post being saved. This is wrong, did lying, stealing, killing, idol worship suddenly "become ok" or good to do, post Jesus? No! While Jesus paid the price, it doesnt change the fact that sin is why Jesus chose to come and die for us, and that God hates sin (bc it hurts ourselves and others, and God loves and wants the best for us). To regularly commit or be in or practice sin is part of tbe Lord Lord scriptures and the ppl God rejects. The begjnnjng of wisdom is to fear the Lord (not be afraid of, but have a holy reverence and healtht respect of God), which is to hate evil. In 1John i believe it says let no one deceive you, the one who practices righteousness is righteous, the one who practices evil is of the devil. We're called not to make converts, but to make disciples. The disciples sat and learned at Jesus' feet for 3 years, and a disciples goal is to be like their master in word, deed, action, thought. Every christians goal should be to be like Jesus. Jesus said not my will, but Yours be done, modeling how our goal is to do Father God's will. Though it is relational, see mary vs martha, spending time w God is better than just doing stuff for God. And yet, how did Jesus model it? He woke up early mornings to pray, but then He didnt stay in the prayer closet, He went into the world and went about doing good. is how it looks the more i read scripture. I suggest you look and research on your own wht the bible, and what Jesus said about it, and pray about it. Salvation is by what Jesus did, but to have that salvation it appears we must forgive and not harbor unforgiveness, and there is action/effort involved in truly making Jesus our God in reality/action, not just in name or word. As God leads, respond, trust, obey Jesus says why do you call me Lord and not do what i say? Whom does Jesus then say is a wise versus foolish man? many are called, few are chosen. narrow is the path. Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery, but then said ' go and sin no more'. Jesus said to pharisees, the true sons of abraham are not just those who physically descended from him, but if you are sons of abraham, do the deeds of abraham. Abraham believed God, but he also obeyed when God spoke as shown by his willingness to give up Isaac. Hebrews or James list other heroes of the faith and how actions accompanied/showed/proved their faith, or showed their internal reality/heart was changed by producing good fruit. To do this we need to abide, remain, live in God, and remain in His word. Without God we are like a dead branch on the ground. Jesus is the tree, if we are connected, we can produce much fruit, which can last. Study the bible for yourself, listen to the prompting you get/feel. Compare with scripture to ensure its God speaking, and not jsut your own thought or the devil trying to mess with you (discernment). Dont just take my word for it, read scripture for yourself and verify or disprove it

@haydenbray1952 What is the one that God wants you to change your mind about? The only thing that will keep you eternally separated from God. Sin. Certainly, we can all agree that this definition rightly divides Gods meaning; Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow, brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life. Walking in holiness begins with repentance.We should think about it as a lifetime daily discipline of our faith, necessary for a holy life as Jesus says in Matthew 6:9-14. None of us are sinless.

Hej but at the end you also proclaim a person can lose his salvation, but not by lack of works or commiting sins, but by unbelief. This means you also didn't get it yet. Salvation can't be lost, it is also not depending on somehow continued faith, that would still be an uncertainty. Look trusting Christ for salvation is a one time done deal, getting saved is a moment in time, whatever you do after that moment does not affect your everlasting life.

Absolutely astounding how many people within christianity challenge the integrity of Jesus Christ. So many times i have heard it said " You can't just believe in Jesus and make it to heaven" Yet Jesus clearly says over and over again "whoever believes in Him has eternal life . Some within christianity say that a born-again person is not eternally secure yet Jesus says " whoever believes in Him has eternal life and will never perish, hunger, thirst, be cast out, plucked out ect... To think that there are those who think they know more than Jesus and must correct Him. UNBELIEVABLE. Thankyou, GES

@2Chronicles714_
@2Chronicles714_ 7 месяцев назад
@@michaelparsons7474 Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow,brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life.

@2Chronicles714_ so, God promises everlasting life to me if I promise (i.e. commit) to change the direction of my life? An exchange of promises like this is a CONTRACT, and if what you say is true, then everlasting life would not be a GIFT to be freely given and freely received but rather it would be CONSIDERATION, to which I would be entilted as a promising party. What happens if I fail to keep my promise? Does God get to rescind the consideration that He offered (i.e. everlasting life)?

They are quoting scripture. To me it sounds like you just don’t want to hear the truth. Because IT IS A BATTLE EVERY DAY OF OIR LIVES. We ARE told we must crucify the flesh. That, the old man dies hard. Jesus said, IF we love him, we would OBEY his commandments. Faith/Works are dead without the other. If we are to stroll past a shivering, starving beggar and wish the peace of the Lord upon him and walk right on by…what good does that do for him? Maybe it makes us feel sanctimonious but the poor beggar is still freezing and hungry. We are to have given him our coat. Feed him. It does no good to tell ourselves we have faith while outwardly we look no different than the unbelievers. Our lives need to bear fruit. We WILL be judged by every word ever spoken, and every deed. To me it sounds like you’re being unnecessarily contrary. These guys are quoting scripture and it seems you’re trying very hard to contextualize it in a false light. We are in a war every day. That’s why we need to put on the whole armor of God. Every day. Ephesians 6. Jesus even spoke about how MANY will go the wide path of destruction. And FEW will find the narrow path of eternal life. And many will say…’Lord, Lord!…did we not prophesy in your name?’…now surely these sound like they would have been perceived as believers and would have perceived themselves to be as well. They were DECEIVED. And how many times does the Bible warn us, to NOT BE DECEIVED. What Jesus said, he meant. He did not embellish. He spoke the absolute truth. Because of course he IS the truth. And we are to place our very souls on his word. So, anything Jesus says is good for evangelizing to anyone anywhere anytime. As humans none of us are going to be perfect. Not even and especially when it comes to spreading the word. That’s why it’s so important to stick to it to the letter and be VERY CAREFUL we don’t fall to our tendency of conforming it to our wants and desires.

He thinks that his sinning is accidental He therefore thinks that he is sinlessly perfect. He ALWAYS assumes that every single person that he preaches to at the. Jesus not only died for you but lived for you as well. Why then would anyone think they need to live for Christ in order to be saved if he already did all the work? You live for Christ because he commands it and because you will reap rewards in Heaven, NOT because God will see your obedience and decide that you're good enough to go to Heaven. They teach works-salvation very cleverly repackaged.

Our obedience absolutely is evidence of regeneration. To claim Jesus did it all so we do nothing is not at all scriptural. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone AND TO BE HOLY, WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 IN FLAMING FIRE TAKING VENGEANCE ON them that know not God, AND THAT OBEY NOT the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 9WHO SHALL BE PUNISHED WITH EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. 1 Corinthians 10:21You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription “The Lord knows those who are his, and, “EVERYONE WHO CONFESSED THE NAME OF THE LORD MUST TURN AWAY FROM WICKEDNESS.” Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him being abominable and disobedient, and unto every good work. 1 John 2:4 He that saith I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
