Razer Huntsman Mini Review: Razer FINALLY does a 60% ?? 

Im not gonna lie, I never thought id see the day that Razer improves upon their products by using community feedback. Excellent review as always Big Bearded Lord.

Dang, i'm just too much of a sucker for any 60% board x.x

The way the music starts before the “Lets go” is like waiting for the beat to drop. I replayed that a couple of times I love it.

The intro with the “Are you ready? Lets Go!” in the beginning is great it adds so much hype. The music choice is great I like it, no screaming, no obnoxious loud music, and no flashing frames.

That switch rattle was a little rough, the switches themselves are pretty quiet so that rattle sticks out like a sore thumb. Reminds me of how noticeable spring ping is on even high end silent switches. Ultimately I love the board and that razer is using optical switches as a no BS method of faster switches, definitely great to see innovation coming from them. Price point (and having a custom mech already) curbs that enthusiasm though, but innovation costs money I guess.

Ugh I bought a huntsman tkl 31 days ago at BB. A day outside the return window...IMO the switch are worth the extra $$ on the price tag. Also extra frame added between 7:35- 7:36 😀

Great Review as always! You're always my go-to when it comes to peripherals, but keyboards in particular. I like that you review the mainstream ones as well as dabble in more custom builds so you have that knowledge to really compare the mainstream against the nicest custom keyboards out there.. Quick question though; the Razer website says "aluminum construction" so is the entire case made of aluminum? or is it just an aluminum top plate and the rest of the case is plastic like on the TE? Thanks! Also just my 2 cents but I wish that the Backspace key was across from Tab and that the "\|" key was moved above along with "`~" above where backspace normally is as a standard layout. I've always thought it was weird to have Backspace so far away and have such a large key for \ and |. For reference; I like how my Whitefox (65%) is set up like that by default, so now it's hard to move back to standard keyboard layouts... Also as far as aesthetics, keycap sets having Backspace across from Tab also looks better for symmetry between the alphas and mods imo, wish it was standard practice to set it up like that :(

My friend has a TE of ones of these and it took me all day to hand lube each Stabilizer wire on each switch and lube the sliders without taking the switches apart. It was a royal pain in the ass but his board sounds 1000% better

it's good that they finally released a 60% i just could never recommend this for what it is at the price it is. There's just better options out there.

Great review! Not going to lie though I found myself bopping to that intro music. Had to rewind the video a few times for it. This keyboard truly could have been the perfect side for me but I already got the g915 tkl which fits my wireless needs.

dang i never thought in a million years razer would make a 60% keyboard

I was a big fan of razer when I got into peripherals and since moved onto other popular things in the market one of them being my One Two SF but damn the way they changed the sound on those switches has got me interested again, this seems like their turning point on keyboard trends just as the mice and i love my viper mini

I got invested into the Razer brand when I got the Razer Deathadder V2, I feel like I have full control over my mouse and have done a 12 hour game sesh without any problem, I got the Razer tournament edition last week and been loving it so far as my first true mechanical keybaord, getting used to the sensitive linear switches but it's near instant input is worth it

razer has been going OFF lately. First the deathadder mini and now this... I feel that they are going to be the top brand for gaming soon

Was really hoping this would have had a wrist rest like a lot of the other Razer keyboards. I love 60% boards but am disappointed with the wrist rest market for them.

That switch wobble looks terrible. Why would you want every key to feel like a poorly made stabilizer?

I was excited for the typing test when you said that razer factory lubed their switches, but man I couldn't be more let down, it really does sound like each switch has rattling stabilizers.

Brian. Nice video. I have seen many of your videos reviewing keyboards. But I still unsure about what to get. I am looking for a 65% mechanical keyboard with linear silent or tactile silent switechs, where you can change the keycaps. Ideally RGB or at least LEDs. Nd detachable USB type c also. Any advice? If this is not possible which tlk you recomend to me??? I have been looking for months

The one thing I was surprised you didn't point out for this board is that whilst you may be better served buying a ducky one2 mini or mecha mini depending on your budget, this is one of the few 60% boards that you can buy with a software suite if indeed that is your thing. It is for some. Just looking at direct competitors or that which would be arguable to be such.

Full programmability? Already purchased! Time to get this bad boy on a HHKB esk layout ASAP!

Good job razer but if you want a quieter version you can lube and band aid mod get the sk61 and get some gateron silent yellow optical linear switches much quieter and you can lube and band aid mod the stabs

Razer opto-mechanical switches in the huntsmen series are based on Bloody's LK libra switches, you should try them as well. or the Lekker switches from Wooting.

will the new internal stabilisers on the space and shift keys prevent you from using your own keycaps?

@BadSeed Tech So they added pre-lube to the keycaps and dampening material. Was this a thing before this Razer model keyboard came out or it's a "new" feature for this brand new model? A reply would be great if you it's confirmed a new quality improvement thing. The next issue they need to address is the switch design themselves as you said it rattles/wobbles which is a design flaw at it's core. if they can fix that immediately in future iterations, it WILL significantly improve the rating of Razer switches. Nonetheless, it's a step in the right direction and hopefully the other big PC peripheral brands WILL follow suit.

Just got it today and so far I like it, it is a bit loud but when you break in the switches it should sound less springy, if you are looking to get it, it’s $120 at Best Buy rn and I reccomend

What is the mouse pad that you are using in that video

I really wish they would've done this before I already took the leap into the world of higher end boards. I really hope it does well, would be nice for people that want to get into mechanical keyboards to be able to walk into the store and have more of a choice than full size and tkl

@badseed tech hey brother! been awile since i have commented so i feel slightly bad XD but your opinion is the one 1 value the most. my amp dac just died. it was the creative sound g6. it was good but it had some shortcomming i felt. so was wondering what else you would reccomend. was thinking along the fulla or hel but would love to hear it from you. if not no worries you got alot on your plate im sure :) keep up the awesome vids as always!!
