@Clifford xeno literally altered the elder crossing from every 100 years to every 10 years Oltura has rage rays AND compelled entire rathalos populations to mass migrate and present themselves as food
I like to imagine while the player and Kyle are taking on a world ending monstrosity, there's like a 60 man orchestra behind them playing this soundtrack
Oltura is certainly a black dragon after what we've seen it do to the world of MHS2 - It's an undeniable threat to the world, not just the villages. This dragon is a world ender and it was marvelous to fight. I wish we see it more in different titles.
Oltura strikes me as similar in "lore" to Dire Miralis. A genuine world-ending threat was a unique anomaly in nature. Only one of it ever existed and it was defeated by the best of the best. Especially considering Oltura was literally a doomsday prophecy. I honestly wouldn't put it past Oltura to be a White Fatalis level threat, if not actually higher. Clearly it's mastery of the elements surpasses even Alatreon by a significant amount.
when i heard the melody of the song in the first cutscene of the game in phase 2 i just couldnt help but ter up god damn and then they mix in the main stories theme, masterful.
To be fair it was implied that Oltura was in its larval form for at the very least 50 - 80 years(considering the age of Red when he dies), possibly HUNDREDS at the maximum.
Hopefully just pray to gog we get this beautiful apocalyptic nightmare back in a mainline game or maybe stories 2 M rank or stories 3 also a reminder to hunters and riders this was a LOW RANK BOSS
Always was a fan of when final bosses introduce alongside their music a couple strands or full melodies from generic music throughout the game. Oltura is by far the coolest black dragon design wise imo. Hopefully we see it in a main game at some point
Honestly this dragon would give even the black dragons a run for there money and this thing is a just a newborn and it's already more powerful then safi jiva.
@@RoomDude yes but is useless and irrelevant after the final boss, as Deviants and Elder Dragons become ridable after Oltura. Making Ratha completely useless
Oltura has to be one of the Most powerful monsters in Monster Hunter History Considering it changed the monsters behavior, causing Sinkholes or Craters to be exact in its Larval state, and when it was i guess finnally "born" it had better control over elements then even Alatreon. This thing would clap fatalis cheeks without much effort. I know i am putting it way up there but consider what it's capable of.
thats actualy making alot of sense. the only other super powerful new born elder was zeno in world but even tho it was super dangerous it was only a clumsy new born and even in its mature state with full control of its element it isnt as powerful as oltura is right after birth. the only thing i can put next to oltura is gaismagorm because of how much destructive power it has and the fact that nobody considers it a monster but just a demon in game BUT even gaismagorm wouldnt last long. man imagine getting to fight oltura head on in the regular games
I'm not sure about Oltura would simply clap Fatalis cheeks without much effort. In a way, Oltura posses a protective light aura just like Kushala Daora & Teostra who have their own respective wind & flame auras. However, the light aura that was able to disintegrated / or shattered an simple arrow into smaller bits is never tested to be able to block or disintegrate more powerful elemental attacks from other monsters. Fatalis in this game is able to condensing its flame breath to the point it legitimately becomes a pale white laser beam imbued with dark aura named as Hellish Flame, capable of turning the very landscape into a field of molten lava by just slightly grazing against it in matter of seconds. I really doubt Oltura's light aura would just outright disintegrating / or shattering an condensed attack with extreme tempratures on such scale like that, as it looks to be an attack strong enough to breach the light aura and damage Oltura's main body. It's also quite effective to intercept with Oltura's various elemental nuke attacks. Fatalis is also able to unleash powerful gust of wind strong enough to visually shatter the ground beneath it called as Sky Force *(weirdly enough is capable of inflicting All-Elem Atk Down, All-Elem Def Down & Speed Down statuses somehow),* which should be able to counter Oltura's scaterred elemental shots from its wings called as Tempest. Fatalis is also have its own equally deadly dragon elemental nuke called as Dragon Burst, and its strongest attack the Dust Erruption which can be executed faster than Oltura's strongest attack, Luminosity, that took several turns to charge it up. Without the turn based setting, realistically it would still take quite the amount of time to charge, giving enough time for the opposite party to basically prevent Oltura to finish charging up its strongest attack. While Fatalis gameplay wise is shown to be better than Oltura when it comes physical strength attacks, on top of capable to inflict Bleeding status. Fatalis in MH Stories world setting is also equally deadly since folks says Fatalis' rage is implied to be one of, if not the main source of the Blackblight utilized by Makili Pietru, that caused monsters to go frenzy and very hostile back in MHS 1. So Oltura wouldn't be able to interrupt Fatalis' mind like what it did to the Rathaloses and such, since its mental power would be too strong to get affected by another monster. While the only way to properly defeat Oltura is that one have to use whatever material contained within Ena's amulet and shoot it at the glowing spots of Oltura's wings (a gimmicky set up to defeat it nonetheless), which is the source of its power, before the protagonist can overpower Oltura and take it down. One thing I noticed is that during the final battle cutscene, Oltura is visibly no longer surrounded by its light aura, unlike during the intro cutscene as the group was about to fight it. This may imply that Oltura is weakened enough to the point of its light aura is no longer active (just like both Teostra & Kushala Daora respective flame & wind auras that can also dissipate once the monsters are weakened enough), of which makes the simple arrow shots by Kyle carriying Ena's amulet are able to hit Oltura instead of getting disintegrated, only leaving the amulet to still intact. And also implying that even when the light aura is still emanating from its body, Oltura is not invincible as the continued attacks from the protagonist group are able to weaken it. There's also a theory by Josh from Ragegamingvideos channel about the light that was able to disintegrate an arrow is just a burst of sudden energy surge coming out from the ground when Oltura is finally "born" from its larval stage, and thus only happened once in a lifetime. So Fatalis doesn't have the key material in order to defeat Oltura properly, nor Oltura would be able to overwhelming Fatalis' offensive capabilities, due to the narration of Black dragon itself being the secret major boss that can only be encountered after the main protagonist character & their monstie had defeated Oltura previously, alongside with bunch of other Elder Dragons such as Kirin, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Velkhana & Nergigante, thus they have grown stronger and more experienced ever since. So narratively speaking that alone should tell us the strength of which Fatalis posses, I say the White dragon occupies the similar level of power to the Black dragon.
inb4 obnoxious Fatalis-fanboys come in and start whining about how their favorite overrated dumbass-looking lizard iz the "GOD UV ALL MONSTERZZZZ!!!1!1!1" Edit: Oh look, there are two right above me!
I should not have struggled with this beast. Like I found it hard because well I never would heal after the big attacks. Then I would use something dumb against it changing elements til I learned about those
@@multimate7760 That has nothing to do with it, a black dragon is so called because of the level of destruction it can cause on the planet, even if it is a little less, Oltura is definitely a black dragon, it has an elemental control apparently better than that of an Alatreon, it can cause complete changes in the behavior of monsters, and of course, if left free it can wipe out the world, it is a full-fledged black dragon.
@Clifford Capcom confirmed time and time again that the black dragon´s are the strongest monsters, I dont knoow what kind of arguments are needed at this point
@@reallycantthinkofausername487 nahh anything soulsborne would have a more sinister tone, i can see what you kinda mean tho (edit) i apologize! I was incorrect, oltura's theme gives me the same kinda vibe of seathes
