I have RCI skids on my FJ. I just received the transfer case skid and will be installing it soon. I have aluminum for the engine and trans skids and steel for the rear diff, fuel tank and now transfer case. Front skid has done its job well and has taken some good hits over the years.

I don't INTEND on harsh rock crawling. Do you think the arb will suffice? I'd hate to add more weight but who wants a cracked transfer case😬

@JAMin The Creator RCI makes an aluminum version which is a little less than half the weight of the steel ones if you want that piece of mind without the weight. The steel is 78lbs and the aluminum is 38lbs

Is it easy to access the oil filter now or does it cover it?

Yes you can still easily access it. I make a taco out of cardboard and crack the oil filter loose and let it drip down the taco into a drain pan. And have a fumoto drain valve on the drain plug. Don’t need to drop the skid plates for oil changes.
