Once i found out i could make my main horse follow me on a secondary horse, i used that technique to hunt every time, carrying double the pelts and not having Arthur holster the rifles every 10 seconds, made hunting less tedious
What if i tell you that you can have THREE horses at a time? You have your main and secondary horse with you and you just tame a new one or steal someone's horse. Ride that new horse and just whistle and both your main and secondary horses will follow you. Although not for a long time - when you newly timed or just stolen horse will become level one, it will replace your secondary horse and you will remain with only two horses... Another good option is to bring a CARGO WAGON, like that John had in the epilogue. The wagon allows you to farm pelts of bears, elks, mooses, you-name-it with enormous volumes and profit )
Unfortunately gotta be in Chapter 4 ... BEFORE the TROLLEY HEIST, to really unlock and/or find most of the good stuff. Much as everyone hates Micah, I just ignore him. Unless he says something stupid, only then do I antagonize him. I prefer insulting Uncle as it's way more fun!
Worth noting is that the Legend of the East satchel is a permanent upgrade. If there's another style of satchel you like more, you can equip it and still have the 99 capacity for everything. I prefer the Valuables Satchel myself. (I think that all of the satchel upgrades are permanent, but I haven't verified it)
So all the satchels are the same as far as capacity? Then why are they named different different things like valuables or materials? Is it just that they look different?
ill try to explain... so basically for every satchel that you get, it will apply the benefit as you go.. for example the valuables satchel will increase the carrying capacity for valuables, and the provisions satchel allows you to carry more provisions.. however, once you have unlocked a satchel, the benefit remains with you no matter what. and once you get the legends of the east satchel.. it massively upgrades the carry capacity for all items on top of what benefits/perks you have already acquired from the previous satchels. its totally different then other games.. it through me off too.. but you have to remember that changing the satchel is not forgoing any benefit, because once you have unlocked said satchel the perk remains permanent.. hope this helps.@@redbarron1010
@@redbarron1010 Each individual satchel you craft upgrades the capacity for an item type. After that, the Legend of the East satchel increases all of them further
I am a firm believer in upgrading that satchel ASAP! Makes life waaaay easier. Took me like 2 or 3 real life days because I couldnt get a freaking perfect squirrel pelt. I kept headshottimg them and they were always 2 star. Then my dumbass realizes I needed small game arrows and not the Varmit rifle 🤣 Im an idiot but its okay I still love this game and thats all that matters. Stay safe out there partners...🤠
What I did … I did everything (pelts etc) and finally got the ‘legend of the east satchel’ early in the game (30%). I saved this as my HEAD save. When I want to play the game again I can start from this point. Made another HEAD SAVE after getting all collectibles: bones, rockcarvings, herbs (challenge 9 herbalist) windchimes. Did no missions that I didn’t need to do. 👍 Maybe a goog TIP for other players
You can get all five in one run. Take a second horse with you each horse can carry three. They can store 2 small animals and one big animal per horse. For the small ones you gotta hang one on each side of the saddle.
Great vid ! I too can highly recommend to upgrade the satchel as soon as possible. So helpful. Those badgers. I remember that i had a rough time finding them. Your encounters with the jerks on the road and the convos with the gang are making your vids really fun. I subbed a couple of days ago. I re-started playing this beauty of a game just a couple of weeks ago. This time i'll take it all in by playing slow.
I remember finding a perfect badger pelt pretty consistently on one of the NPC’s during a random encounter, though I can’t recall which. He might have been a hunter…
I get it, but when you factor in solely the amount of time it took to hunt all the perfect pelts, it likely took you around 2 hrs give or take. Not counting the distractions. Players don’t have to do it all in one go, that’s just how i go about it. So I wanted to share with you.
Steal amd Bond to minimum Level1 with a temp horse-leave the saddle on it, this gives you more places to store large and small game. Also, store any 3* pelts you can on it-the temp horses do not get attacked by wolves, beas or get shot.
Here's a fun fact about the "Americans At Rest" Mission. The Mo-Cap for Charles during the bar fight portion was done by Benjamin Davis, Dutch's actor. :)

Lol literally got this recommended about 20 minutes after just having picked up my legendary satchel. The 3-star cougar took me ages to find, eventually ended up riding up and down that river north west from Annesburg. Found lots of cougars by the river bank including the 3-star.
Thank you for this video. I’ve just come back to the game because 5-6 years ago I didn’t have the time to play this. I’ve now been playing it with my kids and this video helped a lot. A tip to others. This will not take you 2 hours. The actual hunting once I found the 3 stars was around 3 hours of gameplay. The actual finding the 3 stars for each then hunting took me days. I reckon it took me a good total 7-8 hours of gameplay to do this. At least. Although this video explains things well do some research when struggling on certain animals. The cougar was the hardest for me. There’s a video that shows the best three spots along a river they can be found. You have to put animal scent cover on yourself then lay bait for them to come and eat it. Then shoot it with a high velocity rifle. That is the only method that worked for me. Overall great content though but for the average Joe this whole process takes many hours of patience, saving, reloading etc to get everything 3 star with the right weapon etc.
It’s better to do it in one go, plus it’s fun. A little tip is put the marker on your map where ever you’re going and hold a while putting yourself in cinematic mode so it auto runs. Makes it easier to watch the video while not wasting time.
I spent 2 hours searching for a perfect cougar only to find that I must have donated one way back when I created this save 3 years ago. Very exciting to get this satchel every time
I've crafted this bag in the game twice already I can say that the three hardest skins were from the wapiti, raccoon and badger The main thing is to know where to look
back in 2020-2021 during covid decided to try RDR2 and kind of “speed run” it by doing only main story, so didn’t enjoy the game at all, it felt like drinking a shot of vodka, while this game needed to be treated like a glass of wine. And 3 years after decided to try again, this time doing as much of side activity as possible. However most of stuff you wont know without channels like yours, thus you will be my main companion in experiencing this game like the way it should be. Thanks for your input, dude. P.S. can you tell me how much of real time hours it might take to get this satchel, 2 hours really?
Glad you found my channel. Yes, from unlocking the ledger, milestones, hunting all required perfect pelts - around 2 hrs. That’s the perk of going in one trip, but it is risky. Keep in mind you don’t have to rush through it or try to do it in 2 hrs or less, just embrace the experience. The only pain in the 🍑 is trying to find certain 3 star pelts…raccoon and badger in particular. In my case, the raccoon was the most difficult to locate.
I've done all these satchels it makes things better having more items I'm able to carry and it makes the single player last longer, i really liked getting these satchels it was fun. Also you should go for the Buck antler trinket helps in getting perfect pelts.
Get this in chapter 2. I’ve beaten this game 7 times 😂 but I do it first (and get all possible trinkets). It does not take 12 hours like people would have you believe, I’ve done it in around 2 1/2 hours. Just look up what the location of what you need. And use the appropriate gun/bow obviously…
My technique in crafting the LOTES is as soon as the start of Chapter 2 in horseshoe overlook i start gathering 3 * pelts for the satchel until Hosea start the mission to hunt the large bear.
Mann this is the best video. Bro. I was ctfu! On the side missions that u encountered. Gun fights and dialogue. 😆 🤣 😂. But I messed up on my encounter because I died in gunfight and lost all my Pelts. Ima start again soon.! Smh just made me so upset. Because it's not east need patience
This was fantastic - thanks for the great video! Didn't realize you could make it to Iguana island before Ch3, so lesson learned there! I think it took me about 2 hours to get a 3* badger my first time around, but looking forward to trying this out when I start my next playthrough.
@@joolsmacgrools1288panther is easy. Just use potent bait down at the fork in the road (west of the road in the woods a bit) by catfish jackson’s and wait across the road. I like to drop a deer carcass there too just in case
Honestly because I passed this game like 4 times now it's best to get the weapons you need to get 3 star coat and as you adventure or doing what ever kill ever animal you see that's 3 stars easy as that
Great video. I have no idea how you find perfect animals so quick. Took me 25 elk just to get to perfect. And tons and tons of dear to get 7 perfect. The small game was actually easy its like as soon as I came across them they were perfect. But that big game was only spawning 1-2. You don’t want to know how long it took me.
So everyone can make fun of me this took about 15 hours roughly. Though I did maybe maybe a few small other things that was a few hours I focused on hunting for upgrades. It took so so so so long because so many animals would just not spawn 3 stars so I would try a different animal or loop around a few times till I found a 3 star.
@@RockworthRDR2 thanks mate! Yeah I ended up finding a couple of canoes, but I couldn't work out how to get rowing... It's been so long since I played last I've forgotten 🤦♂️
Almost makes me want to restart the game. Mainly because I enjoyed Arthur as a character and for him not to get this satchel much like him not having the MFT horse just wouldn't do him justice.
Go for it partner. Check out my current playthrough episodes to help along the way: ru-vid.com/group/PL5F3_UYQ6mv_GhwYHsrYB1IOaEy-Zd1Io&si=4iur-qc1VraUE66N
The trapper you speak of has pelts that are random. I’ve found him to have everything from foxes, rabbits and wolfs. It’s a random draw. I’ve played through multiple times and never once was the same.
Anyone have tips for finding 3* deer, elk, and racoons? I spent an hour riding around and I couldn't find any. Also, shouldn't a badger shot with a Varmit or arrow yield a 3* skin if it's a headshot?
Not really, kinda just gotta go out there and try your hardest. But I will say, most larger sized animals will spawn in as a 3 star frequently. But you can also find random camps with 3 star pelts hanging up. And the Appleseed lumber co mission w the wolves will guarantee 3 star pelts.
I just started this game a few days ago and I already lost several legendary animals pelts and I saw at the beginning of your video says manually save your progress. How do you manually save your progress so I won't lose my pelt?
this magic satchel: 99 big game meat? HECK YES! 99 dead squirrels AND snakes AND robins? Oh Yeah 99 bottles of beer---whiskeys AND LARGE jewelry bags??? Got you, bro ok, how bout pocket watches???????---OH NO NO NO NO! what are you on, crazy pills?? 5, dude, 5, read my lips F-I-V-E only. Let's not get loco, now
Fr tho. Like we can store 99 gold bars, 99 large and small jewelry bags, 99 rings, 99 carcass each of different animals and many more but we can only store 5 pocket watches
I get questions like this kinda frequently, I have no idea about graphics settings. I never changed them. I’m actually not a big “gamer”, so I don’t know enough about the optimal settings, etc. I turn my ps5 on and get to it. I learn as I go. My content is the result of patience and editing.
How are the pelts not going bad after 1 day. It looks like you were out there more than a day. I've always heard/been told pelts go bad after that long.
PS4 single player offline a third horse is not possible whenever I attempt to get a third horse stolen or whatever they take the second horse away after a few minutes
How do u get perfect pelt each time...i have trinket, i use arrows but end with shitty pelts all tje time...on the other end, if i spot them.and shoot with rifle from far away, i get perfect pelts..wtf?
While this guide is great, and very helpful, I like how you also just stop to talk to everyone who talks to Arthur, and included random clips like the Gunsmith and Tommy’s friend talking about the street fight. Whenever I see interactions like that in people’s videos, I can’t help but feel like I’ve missed some substantial things already in my game, and it makes me want to stop and start the game all over from the beginning again. Like, each time I try to play through this game, I try to slow down more and more, and yet I still find myself feeling like I’m missing out on things, like I’m playing the game wrong. Is that just me?
Also, I really enjoy the way you seemingly play Arthur as someone who doesn’t start shit, but also doesn’t take any guff from anyone. If someone is nice and cool, you regard them in kind. If someone’s a mouthy prick, your Arthur responds to them antagonistically. And if they decide to try and be a tough guy, your Arthur doesn’t bat an eye about dropping them and going about his business. It’s like he’s just wandering around, making the world a better place, one dipshit at a time.
Partner, thank you. You get it. It’s always an honor when I meet people who can connect the dots to understand the madness of Rockworth lol. I have a particular way that I play, and you summed it up verbatim. I’m glad you found my channel friend. This is for collectaphiles and achievement boi’s. This game doesnt require you to carry this many items to get through it lol. I never once upgraded the satchel bc its too much of a hassle. I has no patience for it. And i never once felt like i legit needed more space.
