I started a project for similar reasons...to give me a central idea to make art around. I don't have any designs quite as finished as this yet, though!

The mood and design decision on the old one is looking better for me. Its more like you shifted from the 'stranger' design to the 'monk'. The shoulder armor looks a bit off, by comparing the accurate clothing shape and even the legs armor. Its just my opinion, nothing bad about whole piece and final resolt The idea and drawing is great as usual :)
