What a fantastic method of making a fiitted dress form! I have been walking around with a desire to make one myself for quire some time but didn't know where to start. This method looks much better and cleaner than duck tape-method. Can't wait to put it in practice. I live in Europe and unfortunately the dress form and a princes seam pattern used in this video, are not availible here. Will have to adjust to that. Thank you very much, Connie for this great video! Sylvie Vicenza Hi Sylvie: To determine your dress form size, you would use your smallest measurement. Then you pad the other areas to your measurements. Measure carefully in 2" to 3" increments up and down and then around front to front and back to back. Have fun! Connie

Connie, I have a question for you. I would like to purchase a Wolf dress form on Ebay and was wondering if you know if they can be taken apart: base and body. It is a difficult to get these ship easily. Thank you for your time.

Sylvie Vicenza Hi Sylvie: Joe Vecchiarelli from Fashion Supplies Inc. in Los Angeles carries the French European Dress Forms. They are less expensive than Wolf and they have the same quality as Wolf. You can contact Joe at 213-749-5944. We carry CS1301 which is the pattern to make the shell to give the dress form a final linen fit. All of these dress forms are shipped in a box with the stand in a separate box. We even had dress forms shipped to Australia last year when I was touring. You also might check out Joe's schedule because he will personally measure you. Both Joe and I will be at the American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan the third week of September. We are independent from each other, but we do some shows at the same places. Also, don't forget to try some of my patterns as they are made on live models. Because they are fitted correctly at the shoulders, you will always measure the full bust to determine your size on my patterns. You will be pleasantly surprised as to the fit. Happy Sewing. Connie

kelly russell Hi Kelly: The dials leave spaces exactly where you would want to pin and fit various garment styles. The padded dress form allows proper draping and fitting techniques and is cushioned to make sure that pin go into the form. The dialed version is hard as a rock and does not allow for pins to go into the form. This is why you purchase a form a size smaller than what you are and then pad it appropriately and finish it with the princess pattern CS1301 out of heavy lycra (bathing suit quality) fabric.
