The things in the astartes' forehead ate called service studs. They represent how many years they've served. I believe a silver stud is 50 years and gold is 100 I believe. So that space marine has been serving for over 400 years.
@@allystermack2439 I know but she wouldn't know who Titus is. I watched that reveal trailer's world premiere live and when it showed Titus I sat up in bed and yelled fuck yes! Scared the hell out of my wife and cats.
She is a battle nun, fighting necrons is no joke. You can see the difference between a normal guardsman being disintegrated by one doing nothing and her slaying several of them. And even healing from the shot. I hope to see you react to Helsreach, and i WOULD watch you play anything Warhammer 40k! (Darktide will be out shortly, that's also a trailer to watch!)
15:45 - So the Space Marine here is being armored with the assistance of the Mechanicus. The Mechanicus worship the Machine God they call the Omnissiah, seeing the Emperor of Man as that Machine God. Technology is their religion and they make and maintain the wargear that the Imperium of Man depends upon.
The feather duster on the helmet is a plume. It's just to be cool or to display rank, it's been used in real history. (there's still an Italian special forces unit that puts feathers on their helmets).
The darktide trailers, lord inquisitor, astartes, siege of vraks, krieg, and the rogue trader CRPG trailer are all fantastic and i hope you check them out
He wasn't just falling in love, that guardsman was having an outright religious experience. To him, it was the end of days, his world was being destroyed one moment and the next the literal angels of God fell from the sky and saved his ass. Those were battle nuns. They were Adepta Sororitas. The armor, the hair, and the fact that they use bolters tells you so. Not to mention the sororitas are known to manifest minor miracles such as that one healing herself through prayer. For the armouring ritual, it's a ritual, it all imparts power in reverence. Remember everything everyone believes is repeated and amplified through the warp. They treat him with reverence because he is of the blood of the emperor. He bears the DNA of a primarch, the son of the emperor within him. An angel amongst men. His weapons and war gear are holy relics, and treated as such. And in return for their devotion, he will fight all the stronger, his armor will withstand more blows, and his weapon will strike faster and more accurately
At the last moments of the Horus Heresy, Horus stroke the Emperor with his claws severing his right arm and then hitting him with his maul in the skull, destroying his left eye, while the Emperor layed down about to be ended by his favoured son, he unleashed his psychic power over his body and before he torn appart not only the soul but his corporeal form too, the dark gods abandon him so Horus could see all the destruction and pain that he brought to his loved ones and the people he wanted to protect and serve, then, he was destroyed for ever. Sanguinius dead and cold by the side of the Emperor, Rogal arrived to save him. The Beginning of the End
Yep she was a battle nun. Really Necrons are no joke, they are all using some terrifying weapons and even without their ability to reanimate, their bodies boost some of the best armor in the galaxy. On paper they are about equal on defense and much better on offense than a sister is. Also not gonna lie Chaos Gods really pulled one over on ol' Horus there. He's kind of referred by them as a joke which, well he was pranked hard. But his legacy is to be known as the devil by the Imperium, a fool by his sons and the other chaos legions, and a punchline by the gods. Man had it rough. But yeah, he's super dead, like you can't possibly be any deader.
Fun fact; some, if not most, Sisters of Battle don't hold much reverence for Marines, because they see Marines as mutants, albeit designed by the Emperor. Plus it's not uncommon for there to be a lot of blowback between the inquisition and marines. Of course, versus the foul enemies of humanity, they do work together.
And the Emperor's most holy Inquisition has been known to be a bit... dickish. Especially Ordo Hereticus. That said, there are quite a few dickish chapters of Space Marines. I'm thinking of the Dark Angels "help" on Vraks as one example.
But when the shit hits the fan, no sororitas, astra militarum or inquisition can't fulfill the duty space marines do. The worst of the worst were fought by space marines.
Check out Wh40K Darktide trailers, especially the world story trailer. The game seems awesome and it comes out very soon. Also there is a teaser trailer for WH40K Rogue Trader that has some cartoony bits and the upcoming game seems interesting. Wh40k Necromunda has two games which aren't that good, but the trailers are pretty good and have a good lore representation. It's about gang wars in those overpopulated mega cities.
I recomend u watch the full Astartes series, thats a depiction how badass Space Marines feel when u as human stumble across them. Its made by one guy alone and is to be honest, far superior to anything Games Workshop ever done for their games.
When you think about wrhammer 40k the first two things comes up is fan made The Lord Inquisitor Prologue and Astartes 5 series shorts. Also Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - World Intro is superior even to others great darktide trailers.
If you like chaos don't feel bad, just go with it and have a good time, alot of loyalist fans will call you heretic and such but it's all in good fun, there's pros and cons to every faction so there's no one single faction that's the best No matter what you do today do be sure and make some time for... fun
@@stratigangames508 Horus technically wasn't wrong just not the way he wanted... since that's the whole point of The Cabal helping Horus since Chaos winning would have them bleed out to the Materium & the unnatural Chaos corruption would burn itself out if the Warp restoring it to its natural condition. The xenos were perfectly happy with that result & burning out humanity as well was a happy by-product... the God-Emperor had a different plan to create a pocket of Linear Time thereby trapping transdimensional beings who exist outside of Linear Space-Time inside it & implementing a plan that they couldn't fuck with. Hence why He let God-Horus strike Him to cleave His soul in half creating the Star Child to collect the quintillions of souls and worship for ten thousand years to use as fuel into the Star Father when He finally allows Himself to die and His soul is rejoined. Star Father will then cleanse the Warp of the unnatural Chaos corruption on His own while saving humanity in the process
also horus did not know anything about the 1000 psykers since that was not a thing at that time. ironically that only became necessary because horus injured the emperor so hard, that they had to keep him in stasis on the golden throne ever since... so u could say the sacrifice of the 1000 psykers/day is a collateral damage of the horus heresy in a dark way
Though the details don't quite line up, the captain's shield from the 9th edition trailer is said to hold the remains of the previous captain preserved in the shield's power field.
Thing is, Marines are few, and usually focus their efforts where fighting is worst. Many citizens will never see a marine in their lives. When they do, it's usually because things have gone to shit, or are about to.
16:45 You say that, but bricky mentioned in his video : "were not going in too deep" and on screen it showed adeptus arbites (police). And yea, they're judge dread ripoffs xD
Well to bad, Horus is dead and he's not coming back. Even though he was powered by all four of the Chaos gods and the only reason he injured the Emperor so bad is because the Emperor was holding back, because he still loved his son Horus. It was only after watching Horus flayed a man alive in front of him the Emperor realised that this was not his son anymore and unleashed his true power. Horus was completely obliterated not even the four Chao gods could bring him back to life. The blast was so powerful that all Chaos demons that were on Earth/Terra assisting the Traitor legions got sent back to warp screaming.
'Why is he wearing a feather duster on his head?' idk, ask our own soldiers/warriors in history as to why they did the same exact things (i.e romans, or warriors from any other culture). I would assume it's a personal preference/rank identifying thing
If you really wanted to show how space marines fight from the perspective of a guardsman, you'd have to show a blurr of colours. They are so very fast. That Armour only ENHANCES their speed and dexterity, it doesn't slow them down as a lot of people seem to think in things like Master Cheif Vs Astartes "Well master cheif would be faster because the SM Armour is bulky and heavy". Think again, Mr Astartes gets a big boost to speed, strength and dexterity.
Gotta keep in mind that 90% of people in the Imperium, including other militarum members, will never see a Space Marine in their lifetime. So yeah, those Guardsmen are SHOOK.
Before I help with some analysis I must say I play mostly only Daemons/Chaos/Khorne. So take this all with a grain of salt. :P Vid - 1: Tyr-a-nids, Marines came in a ship called a Thunderhawk . That's a Tyranid Warrior - Hive fleet Leviathan which is a larger, more powerful Tyranid unit. And the basic guy is a Guardsman which are your basic human troopers. If you see Tyranids at all it's usually nto a good thing as they usually are part of larger tendrils coming into that sector of space. Which means these planets could be overrun very quickly. Vid - 2: Battle sister (Imperium Nuns) vs. Necron Warrior(Xenos faction, previous ruler of the universe before the Eldar which came before the Imperium). Dude with the funky legs the Battle Sister and Marine 2v1 is a Skorpekh destroyer (cool as hell), and the Dude at the very end is a Skorpekh Lord which is even more badass. Necrons is one of the most complete and unique factions they have at Games Workshop. Vid - 3: Robes guy and additional helpers are Tech Priest and engineers. The armour is standard power armour, the gun is a standard issue Bolter. Vid - 4: Imperial Fists (yellow armoured good guys) vs. Sons of Horus (green armour, previously named the Luna Wolves). The big badass guy narrating is Horus and he's like the #2 guy in the entire game. Basically he's Cain to the Emperors able and he fell to Chaos. And no he's waging a war against his father and the Imperium with the help of his new-found imbued power from the Gods of Chaos. Horus is a 10/10 badass! And this video is specifically to coincides with the release of a new model for him in Heresy which depicts his second form when he's turned to Chaos. Thanks for sharing! Best of luck on your journey into the realm of Chaos!
I have issue with the second cinematic. Those Ultramarines have 4th company markings but their pauldron edges are gold when they should be green. Uriel needs to talk with his artificiers. Again
they are studs to commend how long that particular marine has been in service gold stud= 100 years silver stud=50 years. its meant to be very grimdark grisly but it comes off a little 80's punk goth to me at least.
Well, it was Horus himself who mortally wounded the Emprah, FORCING him to consume those souls to stay alive and support FTL beacon in the first place, sooooo 😅😅😅
Uh... Just so you understand, Horus's version of freedom was might makes right and demons are the mightiest so we should serve them, not exactly freedom... unless you don't mind everyone's firstborn being sacrificed to summon a deamon prince There is no worse fate than being a virgin woman and being captured by chaos - Deamonculaba has some art depicting what it looks like but I suggest reading it's description before looking at it
She was one of the Sisters of battle, you were right. They aren't supposed to be better than space marines, but she still absolutely kicked ass so expecting her to be stronger doesn't make sense
the soldiers face was filled with pure awe. Guardsman don't see Space Marines very often, hence why he referred to the space marines as 'His Angels' (The Emperor of Mankinds 'angels') tbh, I would have the same reaction.
Yup. Space Marines exist in such a small number and are so rare that the VAST vast majority of humanity will never seen a single Space Marine in their lifetime. Most regard Astartes as holy mythical figures.
The "I am the Law" bit is somewhat fitting for 40k as they do have their own version of Judge Dred XD The Adeptus Arbites which are the brutal police force that love heavy bore shotguns and shock maces. The armor used by space marines in 30k aka the Horus Heresy were much more...flashy and clearly showed the roman legion inspiration - rank was shown by helm plumes - front to back were rank and file while the "feather dusters" were captains.. plus im sure they could use them to keep their armor clean after battles XD
Trailer/Teaser/Shorts wise. There’s (The Lord Inquisitor Grey Knights) teaser (Chaos gate Demonhunters) teaser (Guardsman-2018) it’s a short 4 1/2 minutes (The Faith) black Templars Fanimation. 13 minutes There’s also (Death of Hope) fan animation 20 minutes long it’s good if you’re curious for a glimps of what it’s like being held captive aboard a chaos ship traveling through the warp.
Its never not going to fuck me up that when she says "HIS ANGELS" the angel appearing is a fuck off big dumb revving chainsword going through a four legged roboskeleton with a dumb 40k skeleton face. Its really cool but I just bust out laughing every time.
Sororitas & astartes don't always get along. Namely because astartes dont for the most part buy into the religious aspect of the imperium & can occasionally be major a holes. While the sororitas are major zealots & can be fanatically dedicated to their understanding of a book that was technically written by a traitor. The ecclisiarchy bible was written by lorgar who's currently a deamon primarch lounging around in the warp. The sororitas as a whole probably get along best with the black templars(who buy the religious angle) ultramarines (guiliman is basically space jesus right now, & the ultramarines primarch) & the blood Angel's (their primarch was basically the imperiums first saint.)
Let's make this one hundred percent clear just because they didn't go through all that trouble for one Space Marine captain, don't think for one second they're not going to do it for the rest of his entire legion ultramarines. And you've added memory serves me correctly there are 21 Legionas Astartes. If you think he's tough you ever seen the black templars
if you would live in Romania you would see the armouring ritual live, in 40000 years from now, you should know is inspired from byzantine, roman, orthodox rituals
Focus Home interactive is one of the best gaming studios I own several of their games they don't really disappoint. Let's be honest we want Space Marine armor
There are few things that I’ve watched and have brought a tears to my eye and gave me a case of the feels. Disneys The Fox and the Hound, the Titanic and >>> Helsreach
Imagine if Horus stayed in his lane and the Emperor completed his Webway but then again I would have no Black Templars... but the second golden age of the Mankind!
As a financial advisor for the adepts astartes I can confirm that we could probably afford another few chapters of space marines by cutting the babies flying for dramatic effect.
Armouring ritual: Different Chapters of Space Marines have different customs and rituals for getting ready for battle. Mostly based around how religious the Chapter is, the culture they come from, etc. Some see themselves as warriors and soldiers and put their armour on without religious ceremony, while others go the opposite direction and make the entire process a holy ritual from how their equipment is maintained and stored with blessed oils, having choirs singing, chants and prayers said while putting on the armour, having prayers written out and attached to the armour, etc. They treat their equipment as holy objects, especially the more powerful ones that can take on stronger enemies like the Power weapons (they look like really fancy melee weapons wreathed in lightning).
Great WH40K vids to watch: Occulus Imperia has an entire channel devoted to WH40K. I especially like his ones on specific topics like Power Armour, different Legions, their history and their Primarchs. He goes really in depth, and narrates the vids as an in world historian who has been tasked with investigating the video topic. Maybe not something to go through the entire series on here, but might work if you pick a topic you're interested in, like the Chaos Space Marines. They started out as loyal Space Marines, and he's done vids on several of them detailing their histories before they turned to Chaos, how they did so, what their Primarchs were like, how their battle tactics and doctrines work, etc. Astartes, as in put "Astartes fan film Syama Pederson" into the search bar. Possibly the best fan made content for WH40K.
You should do or react to the Very first Warhammer, it's called Warhammer mark of chaos that's the very first Warhammer trailer like almost a decade or more than a decade and it was great.
