There's something so spiritual about Whitney singing about God and Gospel music. It's so special. The presence of God is most certainly present whenever she sings Gospel. It's like you can literally feel God is actively using her every time.

During this era Whitney was still in training with her mom. Look at how her mom coaches her through this song. You distinctly hear Cissy yelling while in mid belt. And notice how Whitney then modulates or jumps onto a new note.
As already mentioned, that is her Mom, Mrs. Cissy Houston. Cissy is the operatic soprano supporting Aretha's "Ain't No Way". Cissy performed in a 1983-84 off-Broadway musical "Taking My Turn", where she performs "I Am Not Old". A wonderful delivery. Or her rendition of "Be My Baby".

It’s just something --soul stirring when she sings gospel. There’s a clip of her singing “I Go To The Rock” on SNL that makes you want to do a holy dance but unfortunately I can no longer find it. But there’s a performance of her singing I Go To The Rock in DC at a special that’s almost just as good. And I’m mad at how some of your Whitney reactions are no longer on your channel. Obviously, I know who cissy is now. I was a fan of Whitney’s voice and music. I am not a Stan so I did not take the time to learn her personal life and family.
