Trust me; don't sleep on ToQGer; watch the season with a clear mind and you'll come to love the story as well as the suits. It was just THAT good; especially when people thought it would be bad, yet ended up being one of the more interesting Sentai.
@@washiperjoestar I won't argue, it looks really silly, but the writing is amazing. The silliness is part of its charm. The first gattai where the doors open to reveal ToQOh's face - I love that detail. Right's story is a bit like watching a descent into depression, where he thinks keeping everyone away and taking the burden on all by himself, only for him to lose the ability to see victory and thus become unable to defeat Zetto. Luckily his friends are able to remember Right and with their help he's able to overcome Zetto. Damn it. I'm going to have to rewatch ToQger again. It's that good.
@@Frieowksf1293which is funny cus I know a few people obsessed with trains that would have ate that up! Lol I even want the mecha for some reason idk there something about it that’s just feels different and I like that
Probably not the best choice of video to see the roll calls and transformations, a lot were missing - particularly the earlier seasons. Still fun to watch though!
1:17:07 just some funfacts about Zenkaiger: This is the 45th anniversary season, and because of that each of the rangers design is based on previous teams The leader, Zenkaizer, has a costume based on Akaranger, the red ranger from the very first super sentai season, with Big One's (the leader from the second super sentai season) color scheme. The gold ranger, Twokaizer, is based on the Gokaigers The purple evil ranger, Staceaser, is based on Battle Japan from Battle Fever And the other 4 Rangers are all based on previous teams giant mechas. Jyuuran, the red one, is based on the Jyuuranger (mighty morphin) mecha; Gaon, the yellow one, is based on Gaoranger; Magine, the pink one, is based on Magiranger; Vroon, the blue one, is based on Boukenger.
1:08:15 iirc they dance because one of their secondary themes is music (to put it simply), so while it's unclear if the music that goes with their transformations are diegetic or not, that music causes them to subconsciously dance if they aren't fighting when initiating their transformation. They talk about it as a minor plot point when building up to the climax of the season, i don't remember if they say the music is heard or not. Super Sentai tends to teeter between being campy and being kinda dark in tone, the one prior to kyoryuger was kinda dark, so they seem to have tried to be mostly light-hearted, the dancing being a small part of it. Contrasting that at 1:18:10 they don't explain why he dances, it's just a thing he does almost anytime he transforms even though they have shown it's unnecessary (although rarely), occasionally it's treated as a running joke instead of an actual part of the transformation.
Zuran literally started dancing the moment he first changed to the beat of his changer, so the music is definitely not some sort of background theme. There are some instances where the music directly effects the characters in the show, much like Twokaiser in one episode where their changers were tampered so that they wouldn't close, but found out that they could just hold the cover down, which caused a funny scene where Zenkaiser had to do his best to keep the cover of Twokaiser's weapon, Geardalinger, closed while he was dancing. There is also the cross over with Kamen Rider Saber where after Twokaiser first changed into his super form, Super Twokaiser, Kamen Rider Durandal states "Why must he dance?!"
1:01:18 For the short explanation on the voice change for Shurikenger, is due to him being in disguise all the time, so a number a people portrayed his many faces, even some previous Sentai actors took up the role as some of these identities. 1:09:06 That was Robert Baldwin, a Canadian-Japanese actor who is more well known for his acting in the Tokusatsu genre. Heck he even requested to “reprise” his role as Cyan for Dino Charge.
Fun fact, Toei produces Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, so a lot of the same composers from One Piece, Dragon Ball, and a bunch of other anime work on these shows as well.
Yeah watching the final transformation isn't really the best place to judge it. But to be honest the video you chose is probably the best video on youtube on this subject since all the other good ones that has their main transformation footage was deleted by the almighty toei.
Which is a major shame, because for the Boukenger one, they didn't play the normal transformation theme which is imo one of the greatest piece of music in all of Tokusatsu. You really should check it out yourself sometime, here's the link to it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pHHJ3Qym0Bo.html&ab_channel=SuperSentaiMusicCenter
Denji Blue and Battle Kenya is the same actor also known as Legendary actor... If you watch Uchuu keiji Gavan(Space Sheriff Gavan) that is him.. Our legend actor Gavan you better watch Gavan or the New Generation is better one tho but most people like when Crossover with Gokaiger and Kamen rider... The movie called Super Hero Taisen Z and Gavan Vs Dekaranger The new one is Uchuu sentai Kyuuranger vs Space Squad(Gavan/Shaider and Dekaranger)
A few months on, as someone that loves Tokusatsu and watching reactions to it as such, I must say that I appreciate a more critical eye being placed on these franchises, even if I don't entirely agree with all your thoughts. It makes for a much more entertaining and engaging time. I hope you react to more Toku material in the future, even if you're (from what I gather) not wholly interested in the genre.
Yeah...Battle Kenya has...an interesting backstory at least, being a Japanese man born and raised in Kenya. The trouble, however, is that they portrayed him as very...tribalistic, which hasn't aged too great. Also, another interesting, if somber fact is that Kirenger's actor (not the suit actor, mind you), Baku Hatakeyama, is the first deceased Ranger actor. Unfortunately, he took his own life in 1978, and in the suicide note he left, he blamed his dwindling career as well as his inability to escape being typecasted as Kirenger. It's very tragic, and assuming there's an afterlife, I hope he finds some pride in knowing that he, at the very least, got to entertain so many people, be it Japanese children at the time or Sentai fans today.
I find it funny that, I, as a Sentai viewer am seeing someone who grew up on Power Ranger say Doggy Kruger (Dekamaster) looks weird, while I think Power Rangers SPD's Anubis "Doggie" Cruger looks a little weird -- but I guess this means it's come full circle lol Not saying it's a bad thing, I think the opinion on Sentai's Doggie Kruger is interesting from another perspective
I think a good direction would be to kamen rider Kuuga Gorongi Kill Count compilation and the Kill count compilation videos for each Ultraman series. They are HILARIOUSLY BRUTAL!
41:03 I know toqger suits are not nice but the series is one of my favorite alongside of lupinranger vs patranger and gokaiger 46:29 wait whom do you call handsome ?
46:55 ...but they are in a real wall with a real light doing the shadows on the wall. The first part with the Wanted posters has a hide cut to go the the part with the Rangers.
Both the compilations you saw are missing the full detailed transformation, yes. Unfortunately I guess there are not a compilation with all the full detailed transformation AND poses, just these resumed ones that you saw.
Just the right timing when i was browsing my RU-vid Subscriptions... nice one ahahaha would like to recommended you some Openings from olders 80s/90s anime...
If you double tap the left and right keys on your keyboard, it will go back and forth by 5 seconds, rather than having to manually go back on the video timeline.
with this now i am also really curious to see you react to Kamen Rider Henshin and Finisher (all rider have it ofc) also Kamen Rider final form Henshin and Finisher (only Heisei onward Rider have it) they also have final form theme too
57:40 that's fan made. i'm the person who made that sequence. i don't mean to show off; i just want to let you know that it doesn't appear in the official show. it originally only has the red ranger's transformation; then i added the others from other episodes p/s: please react to metal hero openings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SRp1_rIEDf4.html
Why was that dude dancong in zenkaiger? Because he had been singing just a few momenta before Its literally a running joke that he always shows up singing.
I've seen you've been getting a lot of requests to react to the Gundam openings, so I want to ask if you are going to react to them do you want them in chronological order or release order?
Spin offs like SD gundam? Or the OVAs? I guess it'd be better to skip those or do them separately. Though putting together a comprehensive playlist for this stuff would be quite a chore lmao
@@yaboiken2951 Alright, last thing to know, you said you wanted everything in release order, but do you want two playlists, one for the Universal Century timeline and one for the alternate timelines. The Universal century being the timeline that the original show came from is the most revisited timeline and gets new stuff added in sometimes between alternate timeline shows.
Dare I say, that was a bad selection of transformation scenes. Standard, mid-season ones would give you a better perspective on the team, but that's the one who made the video to blame...
Edit: trying to include links at the bottom of this comment, but having some dificulty due to being currently stuck on mobile. Dude, seriously look up metal heroes transformations Winspector in particular Not even for a video, the ridculous ammount of detail in their suits will blow your mind. Again, winspector in particular has some next level shit that bo show before or since has really matched. Yeah, normal roll call is much better. Many characters missing. Here's a 2019 roll call ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w1RPs4LLoKU.html For transformations, here's a 2021 video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OpjQRfSjm8E.html
This guy doesn’t know the information he needs to know to completely judge it fairly. He needs to get more educated with Sentai knowledge before judging it. L judgements. No disrespect.
38:44 Ah yes, I introduce to you overtime, the worst Sentai/Rider sub group. If you want a comparison for how bad they are, just think of how 4kidz dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh. They're on that level.
