Ben is suffering more than the organization. Other than PR, which is spinning in Sixers favor anyway, the 76ers are ok. Ben came back for a reason. Money! If he forgot the reason, keep reminding him, until he becomes a pro like he is paid to be. Don't cave in to him. Let his pride teach him. This is his moment of maturity that he must not be robbed of. Every man has such moments that help him to grow and manup! No play, no pay. Get a clue
To make ben the scapegoat, throw him under the bus in front of the media, wasn't just a cardinal sin in sports, its also them fools shooting themselves in the foot. Joels girly mouth didnt also help. they should have addressed that in the locker room and kept it there. the team didnt have a problem with Ben when they were topseed and all of a sudden they expected him to grow a perimeter game overnight in the playoffs. Did he do his usual job, especially limiting Atlanta Guards offensively? He sure did. And Let's not pretend like Doc Rivers didnt bring Pandemic clippers coaching to Philly. He should have retired after that stint.
@@rickyspanish5243 mate you’re so right it’s crazy people don’t see it this way. The way it’s being handled makes zero sense. The Sixers are shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun. If they’re literally willing to drag a talented player through the mud like this.. a player who has no history of being belligerent; I will safely bet people will avoid that organization if they can going forward. Lol Ben Simmons has never shot the ball, but somehow he made all star teams.
That's not how the league works, tho. He can holdout within the confines of his contract and still get paid. Both the Sixers and Ben handled this completely wrong. Sixers ruined his trade value and refuse to get MARKET value for him. Ben won't accept the backlash and hate, go play really well this season to improve his trade value, then FORCE a trade before all-star break or this summer. So, both sides didn't handle the situation like professionals. I never go against a player wanting to force their way out, James Harden did it, Ben should do it as well, but he just has to wait and go play. This is a BUSINESS. Treat it like one. His path is to ball out, he should be selfish in a different way, go out and drive drive drive just take over and ballhog like Russ but with greater efficiency, then play Ben's typical high level of defense. He will improve his trade value and get out of Philly.
Take his money again, and win tomorrow. This is the regular season, it doesn't mean anything. We can wait. The team certainly didn't look distracted last night. Four players over 20 points.
@@anthonyfrazier195 Regular season have little effect if your squad is good. Even the basic analyst will tell you that. For instance, a fully staffed Nets team can be an 8th seed because of injury. But if healthy will run over higher seeded teams. This is because 7 game series are almost always won by the better team. Plus now any 500 win team has a chance to make the playoffs. This is not like 20 or 30 years ago when they had 3 and 5 game series with just a couple rounds. But look if you feel the need to me call... LoL it's ok did not mean to upset you. 😂
@@bjt81366 You want a high seed going in to the playoffs to get an easier first round. They don't want to face Brooklyn, Bucks, Hawks and even Heat in an early round. Only Nets and Bucks don't have to care about seeding as much.
Think about Simmons from the perspective of how much teams have to give up to get a superstar still in his prime. Look at how much LA had to give up to get AD. So its not only the money if you get like 30 cents on the dollar, its like what if a team gets Ben for cheap and he really excels and makes them a contender that knocks you out year after year. So its like, if we can't get diddly for him then why should we give him away and help another team get better and beat us.
Naw SAS is perfect for First take because his whole thing is arguing and debating. Largely why he and Max didn't work, Max is better at delivering objective analysis.
It's not just him. His manager has advised this, the fans forced it (threats of violence and jersey burning) Ben contributed, but his team mate Embib throwing him under the bus sealed the deal. Most importantly it's only a game. people need to get over themselves
Toronto and Philly are TWO different cities. Ben will be booed atleast. If not trash will be thrown. We threw snowballs at Santa at a eagles game. He will get retaliation 😅
He doesn’t want to play PF… he wants to play PG… Ben Simmons can’t play PF because he refuses to shoot and spread the floor for this teammates… he needs the ball in his hands to “play make” or he’s useless…. Offensively he gives you nothing without the ball in his hands.
@@ike.o6944 He doesn't need to at PF, he has the athleticism and playmaker skills to be an old school PF with higher IQ IF and only IF he can bring his free throw % up to at least 70% or better.
It’s not fair to embiid who been carrying this guy for these past few years not only is Simmons a disgrace to basketball but that’s so disrespectful and unfair how he treats embiid
He doesn’t seem to care about what the sixers get back. I think he’s so vindictive he will gladly have them trade him for a bag of chips just to spite them. I suspect they’ll trade him to NBA Siberia first decent trade they get and get the last laugh though
@@thedman05 Well morey just said he not buckling down just to trade Simmons for role players. He wants a different maker. So he said people better buckle down because this could take 4 years.
you could probably say similar things with any of the other recent team-star breakups (Harden, AD, etc...). The problems (being a bad teammate) will disappear once he's on a team he likes. However he still has huge issues with his game but definitely still a star.
I totally understand why he's being like this. He won't act like this for anyone else. Not that he'll shoot well for another team. But he'll at least play hard and be a defensive force
I’m still trying to figure out how they call Zion a superstar already despite not winning and being injury prone while JA has been balling out and winning leading his team to the playoffs🤷🏿♂️
It's 100% due to his name drawing more attention since college. Other than that I've saw nothing (when actually can play) that even puts him close to the same level of Ja
@@sirlanx2915 why he is playing with a beast and he is mad cuz he can’t shoot and the world caught on man he could have been humble and played ball…it’s an opportunity of a lifetime and he is on a verge of blowing it
This dude has shown us who he was years ago. I’ve said he’s a garbage person for years. He comes off as incredibly arrogant and lazy. Fr he has been a pro for over 4 years now and the fact that he is behaving as unprofessionally as he is, and that he hasn’t applied himself to improve the way he should speaks volumes about him
That was intentional so he didn't get roasted out of the Wells Fargo Center Friday Night. But Simmons has to appear in the Wells Fargo Center sooner or later and those Philly fans are going to be waiting for him.
The 76ers should sit him on the bench regardless of whether he is faking an injury or not. If he wants his $360k he should be sat on the bench next to his fans.
Sixers are so pathetic. This is nothing more than ego. Daryl Morey needs to be fired! Just trade the man already. He will never play for the sixers again.
Because it's a big story. All star player being kicked out of practice and then missing team-scheduled workouts. That's news. That's why it's being talked about. Idk how that's hard to understand.
Ben Simmons can be so good. Fantastic perimeter defender, great facilitator and if he develops a jump shot he can as Stephen A. Smith has said become Lebron 2.0. Its a shame to see him acting so unprofessionally like he has. If he wants a trade then that's his right but that doesn't mean you act with unsportsmanlike behavior. What he is doing now is disrespecting the 76ers organization, his teammates, coaches and perhaps most importantly the fans. Fans know that the money they pay to attend games, buy merchandise, etc goes towards paying these guys salaries and I'd feel pretty annoyed if one of my team's players was acting unprofessionally, not caring about the team and disrespecting the fans. We'll see how this all plays out but if Simmons thinks he'll ultimately get what he wants then he may well be wrong because if anything he is lowering his own reputation and other team's fans may not want their team to trade for him
This man has not trained nor practiced in months! What team wants an unfocused and unprepared athlete? If he keeps this up, he is going to end up like Delonte West, no pun intended.
Nowadays there sure ain’t NO MOSES MALONE IN THE LEAD TODAY IN THR NBA. Lebron and the other leaders today would say, hey just do what you want and recruit more all-stars on your team or just change teams and join a loaded team so you don’t have to work as hard or perform consistently. Or today’s players would tell him to apply LOAD MANAGEMENT LIKE KAWAII LOL 😂
This is personal.. Daryl is sticking it to LeBron and Klutch and he is using Simmons to prove his point. When he got hired, his first order of business was to try to trade Simmons knowing Rockets Owner would never give up James Harden to his Enemy. So he started this fight.
Hold your head high young fellow is a lot of brainwashed fans and players that agree with you! Embid is soft and him not being able to beat the hawks proves it! Did the owners tell him to come up small idk! 7 footer mvp candidate can’t beat and under sized hawks team! For how many years have we known Simmons couldn’t shoot? Gtfooh
I remember when people were saying Zion would be the next Lebron James. Now Max Kellerman can’t even remember his full name correctly callin him Zion Williams 😂
The 76ers and Nets need to let these guys go at 2/3 the price. They can still get solid players. That's better than giving up the cap space for players that won't play
nah maybe Zion is just pulling a James Harden fat suit kinda thing. Except instead of wearing a fat suit, he's actually just saying screw it and literally getting fat to get traded lol
i don't care care how strong and young you are, with this kind of freak athleticism and explosion, he's bound to be an injury prone and have short career with this weight.
The only people that are able to make a trade is management this situation has been clear since the day he did not take the shot. Why Simmons is even mentioned at this point just shows how programmed we are to always blame the employee with a freedom tee shirt on. Its clear you need to make a trade. You should have made it 3 months ago. Yet Not one word has been said of how terrible management has handled this. Yet If he was playing and the 76ers were on a 10 game win streak. It would be nothing but glowing praise for that exact same management. Who only had to Offer an all star a max contract before.
They should trade him to the Chicago sky for Candace Parker she can shoot and dunk better than Ben he can change gender and play in the woke wnba plus he looks similar to Lori beatlejuice lightweight !
Dude doesn't want to take responsibility for his own faults. Philly didn't do anything but call you out and it's true. you are a liability this man can't handle criticism. and he's throwing a fit.
at this point, it's the organization's fault. Why would Ben play a single game just so the organization that said he sucks can make more money on the trade?
I let BS rot until the right trade comes along, sixers will probably end up making a deal with BS to go back to LA and wait there until traded, in the meantime BS may only get half his money for the year, he certainly is not going to get the full wages for not playing any games and not wanting to play for the matter.
