REACTING to Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 2! | FIRST TIME WATCHING 

I loved this kiss, because it's so unique. I think Pen reached a breakpoint where she lost hope. So asking for a kiss it's her way to say goodbye to any expectations towards Colin. Meanwhile, Colin has been with many women whitout feeling a true conection. And the kiss is a moment of Clarity for him, to be able to see her in a new light. And from now on, they will change places. After being in love for so long with the most oblivious man in Ton, I think it is a perfect first kiss.

The way I interpreted the kiss was that for penelope, this was her goodbye to her feelings for Colin. She has lost all hope of ever finding a husband and that is reflected in the way she wrote in Whistledown. She didnt have to write as harshly as she did, but ultimately WD is a reflection of her true feelings, which are that she genuinely believes that there is no hope for her at all. And because she has lost all hope, she is brave (or reckless) enough to ask for the one thing she has always wanted. She has never truly believed that she is worthy of Colin's love, therefore it never occurs to her that kissing him would change anything.

Pen was basically letting her feelings for him go, giving up on hoping he would ever love her. It's a goodbye kiss for her, a memory to treasure and move on. However, Colin's world tilted....

Loving your reactions! Something I feel like a lot of people miss is that at the end of the diary excerpt penelope reads, it says "I marvel at how one can feel such intimacy, but also such great distance". Colin isnt fulfilled by all of this interactions with other woman because he has no emotional connection to them. He is doing the whole Fuckboy thing bc he thinks thats the way a man in his society & position should act (as demonstrated by his older brothers and other men in the ton). Its basically a front he is putting up bc in previous seasons he was always ridiculed for his romantic and sensitive tendencies (by his siblings and otherwise). I think this arc makes a lot of sense for his character!!!

YAY!!! I’m so happy that y’all watched seasons 1 and 2. I can’t wait to see what y’all think of the rest of Polin’s love story! It’s been so good seeing different perspectives of season 3. I hope y’all love it 🥰. Their first kiss to me is just so perfect and very book accurate, which makes me very happy as a book reader. I also love how Penelope & Colin’s outfits match each other, before they started filming, Luke Newton, the guy who plays Colin, had a wardrobe for the season so that whatever scene they were filming that day, they’d match up with Nicola’s, Penelope’s costumes.

I love hearing a guys perspective, because it shows how differently women and men perceive this love story, and I’m kind of in the middle because Colin only saw Pen as a friend, and valued her for that, he apologized for what he said last season and wanted to help her as a friend should, Both are still maturing… maybe Pen faster than Colin and this is when he starts to see her as a woman and not just his lil sisters friend, it’s not his fault he didn’t see her like that before… but obviously as we get older we are able to see people differently because we grow up and this is exactly what is happening between Pen and Colin ❤
