Kuuga has probably gotta be the most realistic rider series. The police and government actaully does something to help the world against the monsters, they don't trust the Rider to easily and view him as a vigilante at first then slowly see him as a good guy. The hero doesn't immediately know how to fight yet and is slowly learning.
That's what I liked about Kuuga. There was progression and growth along with his other forms having real drawbacks. Plus there were consequences for his actions/inactions. Also, has one of the most epic beatdowns in all of Rider history.
30:44 Funfact: the Kiva suit was once the heaviest rider suit, this was due to the chains being made of real metal, however that also put strain on the suit actor and hence why Kiva got his final form early. Later on, the material of the chain would be changed to be more lighter. 44:58 Literally reading Rider Kick, as the katakana on the face is for Rider, which is then followed by the katakana for kick being added to the foot.
@@albumkosong yeah, but in this case, the story actually justifies it, as Emperor Form is Kiva's true form so it's logic that Wataru would defaut to the true form of Kiva
Actually, the fact on Kiva is true and false. The Chains part about putting strain on Seiji Takaiwa is true, but the part about it making Kiva's suit the heaviest is false (As Decade's suit has been confirmed to be heavier than Kiva's) The problem wasnt really that the chains put more weight on the suit, it's the placement that created an unbalance and ended up causing strain due to all the weight being focused on the leg
@@DarkAnon100 decade came out later than kiva, so that part doesn't stand, but Kuuga's purple form was still heavier. You are correct tho that the weight distribution of Kiva's suit was what made it really difficult, on top of it getting really hot.
27:38, ASK AND YE SHALL RECIEVE! to put kamen rider hibiki's premise into context, the forests and rural countrysides of japan are plagued periodically by ancient man-eating monsters called Makamou. Takeshi, is a long-standing organization of oni dedicated to hunting and exterminating makamou. the oni use "ongeki", special musical weapons to amplify elemental power and sound to defeat makamou. 3 main oni in the series are Hibiki, a flame oni who uses taiko drumsticks, Ibuki a wind oni who uses a trumpet/machine-pistol that fire special oni stones that resonate heavily with sound once the gun's trumpet mode is used, and Todoroki, a thunder oni who uses a spear that doubles as an electric guitar.
Not "all" of them are kicks, but it is the trademark. All main riders do have at least one variation of their finisher that is a kick. Don't apologize for pausing and talking about stuff. That's what reacting should be, don't get in the twitch mentality of "just press play and watch silently with other people that were too lazy to google the material" mentality. 27:00 this Rider season went through some stuff; they changed director and writers midway through. They were constantly going over budget for each episode, because they had this vision for giant cg monsters and stuff and it was super expensive because it was 2005. It also needed a *lot* of nature shots, complicated shots and music (because the Riders of the season would purify evil with music). In short, even if it was doing ok, the show wasn't paying for itself; and the second half really put a break to the spending and became really watered down (to the dismay of even the actors). It was really ahead of its time on what it was trying to do. The staff that was laid off never came back to Kamen Rider and to this day the fandom is full of rumors and fake news about what happened that year. It's kinda tragic really. 30:00 in this season, the main character is a host to multiple time-traveling "demon" djinn. Each one of his forms has he hosting one of them, and their personalities take him over. Momotaros, the red demon there, is the tropey 'dumb and loud delinquent' stereotype and is a heavy contrast with Ryoutaro, the main character. 49:05 kinda like a ghost, but no, his inner devil manifested. Those are the villains of the series, people's inner demons.
44:56 fun fact, the thing on his forehead says "kamen", his visor says "rider" and it's written "kick" on the feet. It's literally highlighting "rider kick"
You're so far my favorite Tokusatsu reactors out there, because you're not just "that's cool" or "oh I like it", but you give a time for a little observation of the details, not many reactors did that, and I hope you keep doing it that way... Also, that's fine if you keep pausing the video, we like to see how you feel about the particular show. Maybe you can pause in the end of the iteration, and you can give your opinion about that...
Fun fact about Hibiki: His show wasn't originally going to be part of Kamen Rider. The studio just thought it would do better with the Kamen Rider name slapped on, so that's why he doesn't say "henshin" before he transforms.
_Hibiki_ was actually initially planned to be a reboot/reimagining of _Henshin Ninja Arashi._ That’s why the Armor of the Oni from the novel resembles Arashi’s suit so much.
Kamen Rider Shin (not to be confused with the recent Shin Kamen Rider which is a reboot of the first Kamen Rider by Hideaki Anno, the creator of Evangelion who also made Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman) is Toei's first of many attempts on appealing Kamen Rider to the adult fanbase. Released during the franchise hiatus after Black RX. This can be seen with the body horror transformations, darker tone and gory violence. Since then, Shin has only appeared briefly in big crossover movies. After Shin, Toei would try again with Kamen Rider: The First & The Next (also a reboot of the first Kamen Rider), Kamen Rider Amazons and Kamen Rider Black Sun. Fun fact: In Super Hero Senki back in 2021 to celebrate Kamen Rider's 50th anniversary, Shin's suit is so irreversibly damaged that they had to use a mannequin. Thus, you never see him participating in action shots, only the initial group shot of all Rider and Sentai together where he's just standing there.
I grew up with both Kamen Rider and Power Rangers. Super Sentai was a thing but they didn't really air them that much during my childhood as much as when my parents were teenagers. They went back to airing Super Sentai a lot more recently though. I grew up with the 2000s Kamen Rider. During that time period, Kamen Rider has its own identity that distinguishes it from shows like Power Rangers or Super Sentai. Kamen Rider Ryuki (2002) shifts Kamen Rider's image from heroes to just people. Meaning not all Kamen Riders are good. They are people. Some choose to do good things with their powers, while others use them for personal gains. This show introduces villain riders, anti-hero riders, anti-villain riders, and neutral riders. The series also took a continuous J-Drama-esque approach rather than a monster-of-the-week approach. Meaning there is more room for tense drama and personal conflicts between riders. Which is why, during my childhood, Kamen Rider shows were more popular among teenagers and young adults.
you talk about how the showa transformation looked like the db fusion dance, Akira Toriyama was a huge super sentai and kamen rider fan (you can see that with the Ginyu group, and the great saiyaman in the buu Saga)
Man if you liked the explosion on Kamen Rider Ryuki you gotta see Kamen Rider Zolda's Final Vent bro, it litterally says "End of the World" by that you know what it means
That red demon guy is possessing the guy who transform into Kamen Rider, thus he got red armor and sword. So the possessed guy did not fight, but the red demon guy who control his body is the one who did the beating. The guy who transform will eventually fight when he got access to the final form.
@@justinarzola4584 He merely twisted his ankle. But let's be fair here, that was his first time battling like that, so he wouldn't have any practice with how to not hurt himself like that.
Jokes on you, I got De-o, Decade and W's toy belt from a friend of mine(altough some parts are missing and I accidently broke the belt part of the Decade buckle😞). I was able to wear it until I turned 13. Once a month(or 2-3 months) I check if they can still make the sounds and stuff(thank god they still can☺️)
Kamen Rider Black and RX are my two favorites next to og rider and Amazon Also Amazon bites and scratches when he fights He's kinda like blanka from Street fighter
You got a new sub from me, i enjoy your reactions, and the pausing to diacuss things, looking foward to the next one, and wrlcome to the giant rabbit hole that's tokusatsu reactions, hope everyone in the comments keep it wholesome too
In This Miniseries Called Saber Spin Off and Paradise Regained Where Faiz and Ghost Are The Only Two Riders Who Does Not Have Any Shameful Battle Scene... Decade and OOO Were All Beaten Up Badly in Zi-o Spin Off and Core Medal Resurrection Only Takumi and Takeru Exceeds Tsukasa and Eiji Every Expectation.
Den-O gets his powers from creatures called Imagin( The Main monster group in that series),he "befriends" them and gets the personality and powers of their five spirits but his normal personality is timid and weak,Sword form is his main form and the red devil guy is one of the Imagin, his name is Momotaro's and is based on a japanese Legend, Den-O is a popular series so the Imagin often reappear in crossovers especially Momotaros, keep this in mind for other Kamen Rider videos you may to react to.
hahaha, ah that was excellent this didnt cover _every_ main Rider, because there were the handful of specials/Amazon exclusives with new main Riders, but this did as good as cover every main TV Rider, and Im so glad you finally get to see these, but boy howdy are there so many other Riders to yet see and I think more you'd yet love the look and design and henshin of, Im so glad you're getting into Kamen Rider
A good frame of reference would be to compare Kamen Rider to the 1975 Hong Kong movie called "Inframan". Both are about singular protagonists morphing into armoured heroes and fighting rubber suit monsters, making stuff explode. Highly recommend reacting to the Cinemassacre review of Inframan if you have the chance (or watch the movie in your own time)
idk if anyone said this but every Heisei Main Rider, aside from Kuuga and Hibiki (Agito - Zi-o) , are suit acted by Mr. Takaiwa Seiji during the duration of their series, which earned him the nickname of Mr. Heisei Rider and 01 was a sendoff to him after he decided to retire(?) as he suit acted the final in-series villain, the final villain's transformation jingle also contains a homage to his name
Every Rider have their own catchphrase or one liner my favorite are: Kamen Rider Build "I found the Winning Formula" "Let's Start the Experiment" Kamen Rider Gaim: "From now on this is my Stage"
You should watch secondary Rider transformation and finisher too, too cool too unique Fun Fact: Kamen Rider W(Double), the one and only Rider that required two person to transform into
I like that you pause and then speak out your thoughts that you had. This is good because you're doing not just reaction but also commentary. Edit: My favorite? It was Kamen Rider Black / Black Rx. Why the two together? Well, Black Rx was the sequel to Black, so they're really actually just the same rider (check up the top left on the screen again, the video actually introduces the name of the rider, and you'll see both Black and Black Rx are the same guy - Minami Kotaro). I grew up watching these two seasons. And you were right about the poses too - me and my pals in elementary schools loved mimicking the henshin moves.
The one that you liked for the finisher, Black RX is actually powerful. Most fans of the newer Kamen Rider series dismiss the idea that RX's power is on another level, only because majority of the people don't know the capacity of RX's power really is. RX and Black are technically been fighting in an incomplete form since Kotaro never ascended to a century king in both Black and Black RX. The guy is actually immortal, immune to time changes, like time stop etch and can literally stop anything moving that is fast, but most of all survive a planet explosion and hurled back from space and landing on earth without so much as a scratch. Hence him loosing to Decade is bull, but then again a manga adaptation on Decade did confirm that the reason RX and the other riders lost was intentional or just part of the Rider's scheme. So all good in the end.
some trivias about kamen riders here: 10:27 the Belt (or in today's term it's Buckle/Driver/Gear) is one of the most important design of Kamen Rider alongside the finishing kick, compound shaped bug eyes (in some form or another), and the henshin pose. Every main series Rider has a belt as their transform device. Side Riders don't have to. 30:46 fun fact about Kiva suit. That chain dangling on his suit and legs are made of real steel. It's so heavy the producers fastened up his final form episode and made him fight more in his final forms than base form to ease the heavy burden the suit actor have to endure every shoot. 36:36 in Kamen Rider Wizard meta lore, he transformed into a wizard suit. He didn't even know he is called Kamen Rider until later in crossover movie by his crossover kamen rider peers. Build and Geats have in-world hundreds of suit combination due to how versatile their transforming gimmick items.
i like your reaction, and i dunno if you want to, but maybe you can watch each kamen rider form henshins and finishers, but i think it maybe too long hahaha, btw good reaction
Kamen Rider Black RX is really cool. And to this day, RX still has my favorite alternate forms among other Riders. They are completely different from the base form and yet still as cool (if not cooler).
For Shin (the one looking like biohazard creature after Black RX), it seems to be the original idea of the Father of Kamen Rider - 石之森 章太郎 Ishinomori Shōtarō (Note: He is also the creator of Super Sentai). He depicted Kamen Rider to be something not purely heroic, but somehow anti-heroic. However, perhaps to avoid launching something so dark and creepy (and adult-like), he didn't release it in the first two decades of Kamen Rider series.
In Hibiki, the one with the drums, was the story about defeding monsters with Pure Sound. it was itended that hibiki was the first of a own series, but that got cut. if you watch that season you will notice 2 things: The dont say henshin, until afte ep 35 i believe. And in the show They are not called Kamen Rider. The are called Oni
Hibiki was originally supposed to be a separate show( there wasn't going to be a Kamen Rider show for 2005) but they decided to make it a Rider show because Toei didn't want Kamen Rider to lose toy sales for a year, this is why the vibe, lore and setting of the show is different from the rest of the Kamen Rider universe.
Black RX's henshin, forms, finisher, and especially the OST hold special place in my heart, even more than original Black. Maybe it was more lighhearted and cheesy than Black, but it still my number one favorite rider show.
Shin, ZO and J are movies if im not mistaken. They where launched in a period where Kamen Rider was what many people thought would be an "indefinite" break since no series came out since Black RX.
so about W ( Double ) they don´t fuse per se in this its Philip consciousness that is transferred over with his gaia memory to Shotaro , there are varations of that so mabyer check that out too, W is one of my all time fave riders
There is just a lot of variety when it comes to kamen rider. For instance, some of them have a form that is weaker than their base form. Like Kuuga has a white form that is considered incomplete called "Growing" form. There are some that have something similar to Kuuga's growing form like Ex-Aid's Level One, Kabuto's Masked form before he casts off, Den-O's Plat form before he is possessed by an imagin, and Geats has Entry Raise form. Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, but I am sure there are others.
I think that why I love everything I see from it cause it always feels different were I think alot of shows or series these days just repeat the same thing
See I love your reaction and excitement I love to see you watching the series of it bro all of the kamen riders or from 2000s up on it would be great to go through this journey with bro❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I just love all your reaction videos. Kamen Rider Gaim (the guy who becomes an orange) is my favorite Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider Wizard is great too. Kamen Rider Ex-Aid has one of the best villains in it. I have to get by watching Kamen Rider Zero-One. I heard it was awesome but this Kamen Rider Thoser drives me crazy. But my favorite Henshin is Kamen Rider Wizard, maybe because I love magic. Anyway, looking forward to more of your reaction videos.
Highly suggest looking up the secondary rider hensin and finishers rider form changes, and final form collections. You will get a lot of fun finishing moves
