It’s always good look back at our old work to realize how much you’ve improved over the years. I often do that, I’m not where I like to be but I have definitely improved from when I started..

This video is quite helpful, looking back and giving a critique on the shots taken. That is helpful for a beginning Real Estate photographer not quite sure what what details to look for when shooting a property. I will review this and others for my own benefit. Thanks a lot

Alex.. What kinds of contracts do you recommend to give to clients that lays out payment structure and other details that you used? As well, what is a website style that you also recommend? Thank you in advance..

Awesome video! Great to see your progression. Im an actor and I’m wanting to start this as a side hustle until I grow it as a business. How do you go about paying taxes? Do you have an LLC or do you freelance? Would love a video on these topics. Thanks and be safe!
@AlexSerrao
@AlexSerrao 3 года назад
You don’t need to have an LLC when you’re starting. You just pay taxes on your income minus expenses as self employed.

And I’m trying to find (but it does seem impossible) of a how to shoot in a small town , no mansions just regular small windowed with crappy ambient light situations. Never would it work ambient only no matter how much hdr you throw at it. All I find on you tube and, and yes I know these video are most of your income now and very lucrative, and Kudos to all of you but can’t any one show rural American homes to help a guy out. I have winter 5 month of the year and not a lot of million dollar all window all painted white videos who couldn’t shoot that? see what I’m saying? Sure I learned about Flambient blending techniques but you guys seem to be able to do 3 to 5 homes a day, it took me 3 hours to shoot a 4 bedroom right out of the gate, bad direct Sun, all colored walls with only a 24-70 on a full frame Sony……helllllp I’m sick of searching LOL

Man there’s a lot here… Well first, these videos are FAR from my main income. The business is by a long shot. You can ABSOLUTELY shoot those dark homes hdr. We do plenty of them. Not every single home we shoot is high end. You need to find a good editor that can take care of them for you. Just shoot 3 brackets of -2/0/+2 and you’ll be fine. Just pay attention to color casting. As far as small town and long winters, you may want to honestly consider moving at some point to find yourself in a more lucrative career. Your situation may not allow it, but if you can it may be a good option. But homes still go for sale in the winter. Do what you can to be the dominant photographer in the area. Your 24-70 is not the right lens. If you are on full frame Sony I’d recommend the Sigma 14-24mm f2.8. It’s a fantastic bang for your Buck. You NEED a lens that’s at least 16mm wide. Hope that helps man

This was great and extremely helpful. I just got a Lumix G85 and DJI Ronin SC. Did the firmware updates for the body and lens. The kit is a 12-60mm and when possible, I'll upgrade to either a 7-14mm or 8-18mm lens. Can you offer any advice on video and photo settings for shoots? You have definitely come a long way in five years, congrats. I wish I had left tv prod much sooner to pursue real estate. Better late than never, I suppose.

If that camera has the ability to, shoot your footage (especially interiors) in a log profile. That way you can get the most dynamic range. You don’t need your aperture all the way open. I keep mine at f4-7.1 depending on the room. You want as much in focus as you can. Don’t be afraid of high ISO numbers. You’ll need to do it shooting in log. There’s a few tips! 👌

@@AlexSerrao The Lumix G85 is notorious for having focus issues, fortunately many have provided good setting adjustments along with your setting suggestions should bold well. Thanks!
