I love mlm couples in TV shows and books, etc and what I've realised for me as a pansexual girl is that mlm couples allow me to kind of experience romance in a queer way without all the emotional baggage that sometimes comes with reading about wlw couples. Of course I relate to mlm in a way as well but most of the times I don't have to deal with my own trauma connected to my sexuality as I do when I'm reading about a lesbian couple for example. But I'm just not really interested in straight romance so although I now read a lot more wlw books, in the past mlm romances were the only way for me to experience queer romance and I heard about this same experience from soo many of my queer friends.

To the Coming-out thing: I've heard a lot people who said that they don't want a Coming-out for LGBTQ+ people in the future anymore, which I totally understand. But I also think a good solution would be that everyone can say what their sexuality or gender or... is ( also straights ) like a Coming-out for all people, because then you know how to speak with them about their future fiancé or their pronouns or sth.

I agree with Noridog. We should make the space where anyone feels comfortable to share but I think making everyone HAVE to say their gender or sexuality could be problematic. some people may just want to keep their lives private for whatever reason. I think people’s sexual and romantic orientations will always need to be talked about, but hopefully one day the stigma surrounding it will disappear. I hope society will move from being heteronormative to being accepting of the fact that you cannot and should not assume someone’s orientation. So in that sense, people will probably always need to ”come out”. But hopefully this won’t require a big coming-out thing, but rather people will feel comfortable just mentioning their orientation in passing without worrying that anyone will react badly to the news. Hopefully it will be as simple and common-place as asking ”Do you prefer orange or apple juice?”.

Hey! I love your videos but I have one thing to say: Bisexuality includes trans people (obviously I don't understand why people think it doesn't because trans men are men and trans women are women and if you like men and women that includes trans people too like come on) AND nonbinary people too! The definition of bisexual varies but some of the most common ones are: 1. Being attracted to your gender and other genders 2. Being attracted to 2 or more genders And this includes everyone. Now the difference between bi and pan with these definitions is that pansexuals feel attraction REGARDLESS of someone's gender while for bisexuals gender is a part of the attraction.

Hi Keara, I love your channel. I wonder how you define the difference between bi and pan? From this video it seems as though in the past you would say that being bi was not (or was less) inclusive of non-binary and/or trans folks. And present day you seemed to allow this interpretation to stand. I am leaving this comment in hopes that perhaps, if this is actually how you define bisexuality, you might consider the other definitions of bisexuality that have been reclaimed by bi and queer people, wherefore bisexuality can and does include non-binary and trans folks within the realm of attraction. As a non-binary (gender fluid) bisexual myself, it is important to me that other people attracted to more than one gender know that bi is a valid label to choose if they know they are attracted to non-binary folks as well. I’ve had folks in my life look down at me for ID-ing as bi because they assumed simply due to the label itself that I wasn’t being inclusive with my attraction. That couldn’t be further from the truth for me. I’ve also had folks I know say that they stopped ID-ing as bi themselves for the same reason, and that doesn’t feel completely necessary to me. There are many valid reasons to choose Pan over bi for ones label and that is a deeply personal choice that I respect. But I do feel I needed to stand up and say that bisexual is not inherently exclusive of non-binary people. I subscribe to the definition that bi is attraction to two or more genders, and/or, attraction to one’s own gender and other genders. I hope that helps make things more clear. I enjoyed your video, and I always love to see how you navigate your life and identity. I hope you have a good week!

Thank you for this comment!! I have left similar ones on their videos and never get any reply... I know she can't reply to everything of course but it seems like they are still spreading the same false message that bi would mean exclusively men and women. Bi people don't care about assigned sex at birth just like pan people don't. Both can date someone of any sex or gender... I was surprised to see they are still sayin this kind of thing. I remember commenting about this on the old videos too....

@@Raddiebaddie I have definitely not seen the same increase of correct understanding about bisexuality in queer discourse as I have about gender identity. A lot of folks are still under some pretty outdated misapprehensions about it, from what I see in commentaries, as well as people I know in my life. I don't think if you watch gay po*n you are fetishing them same goes for straights who watch les po*n except if straights every damn time come up to you ( if les) tell you they can turn you into straight or do some other sh*t. Also, I don't think Keara does these things whenever she sees any gay couple. I think ACTION matters because I read somewhere nothing wrong with watching p*rn if you are not harming others i.e ACTION.

So bisexuals can and are attracted to GNC and trans people and saying that you "must be pan" because you date non-binary peeps is kinda damaging and reinforces the idea that bisexuals care about the gender binary and/or only someone's genitals when that isn't the case and bi just means "genders like and different to my own"

There are some solid explanations for why women are drawn to and consume MM content; it's just a shame that "MM for women" isn't recognized as a different category from "gay" as the former has now drowned the latter out, though perhaps not yet to the same extent as how "lesbian" is still mostly "FF for men". Gay fiction is almost absolutely dead and I mourn it deeply. "Toxic positivity" is good.

9:28 hey so as a trans/bi person it is kinda weird to call yourself pan just bc you would date trans people bc it is kind of invalidating to our identities as men/women, you can be bisexual and still like trans people, to say you can't is both transphobic and biphobic... idk if this is just unfortunately how it's come across in your video but it does come across like you're saying you're pan and not bi bc you like trans people...

I´m pretty sure that they didn´t mean it like that and just didn´t correct their past mistake or cleared up the misunderstanding. But I had the exact same thought as you so I´m glad someone else is pointing it out . Maybe she just meant that maybe dating non binary people as well is why pansexual might be a better label? But then again I label myself as bisexual and would still date nonbinary people... labels are confusing...

@@whatsyourname9581 awww thanks for that long explanation 💕. It definitely gave me better language to explain it to friends. But I actually meant labels are confusing as in it's confusing for me to label myself, I did actually know most of this already (English is not my first language so the actual meaning kinda got lost). But thank you so much, I feel like your answer might help a lot of other people and you seem like a very kind person. 😊

I caught this too and had the same thought but I think she uses pan now because it’s more inclusive of non binary/gender fluid people.

Actually not embarassing at all. You said a lot of things that are very true. I would say that bisexual fits you best because your attracted to 2 or more genders, but you have preferences. Pansexuals, like me; are "gender blind", meaning that they don't have any preferences.

Kinda? Depending on which communities you're in people's understandings and usages of the words will be different. Personally I've sort of settled on just describing what my sexuality is to people and letting people use the words/labels for that which fit in the context we're in, and then using those labels in that group of people if they have a shared understanding of what they mean. I try not to be too prescriptive when it comes to definitions unless they're actually harmful, very clearly incorrect, or someone isn't familiar with the term and wants to know, in which case I try to describe the uses people have for them and the reasons I'm familiar with for why and how those meanings took shape within the different groups who use them differently. There are, for instance, fairly large groups of people who use pansexual to mean 'attraction across genders', without the part about having no leanings towards some genders over others. Much in the way that for policies and curricula in Canada, Pan-Canadian usually means that broadly, it spans the country, but there are differences in regional implementation due to different conditions (e.g.: a bunch of language specific things shouldn't be the same if the languages are different). The meaning you described has currency, but the usage isn't really cut and dried everywhere, and I don't know that it will settle into a singular universal meaning any time soon, partly due to inertia, and partly because people want a word that has that meaning and bisexual already has another meaning in some communities, so isn't as viable a candidate.

I only dated cismen and had boyfriends ... which is odd... I never had a crush on a girl but I've been sexually attracted to them... so I thought I was heteroromantic ... but since I'm non-binary ... I feel Androromantic fits me better ... and I had my first romantic crush on a genderfluid person (confirming I'm not heteroromantic)... but she didn't return my feelings so big sad...
