Reacting to NHL Alternate Jersey Concepts! (Designs by MBH)

The shoulder patch on the flames jersey is the provincial crest

This guy is by far the best jersey designer we’ve seen on the channel

Love how you subtly fit the that’s what she said joke in there

These are all clean

My Top 8: MAPLE LEAFS: I would make the minor tweak of moving the striping on the sleeves UP to the elbow. BRUINS: A perfect concept. I love the trifecta of golden yellow, black and white.... doesn't matter whether it's Boston or Pittsburgh. HURRICANES: That logo isn't my favourite (I don't hate it, it's just alright to me), but I love the total package of this concept. AVALANCHE: I generally don't like that logo, but something about the total conceptual package of the jersey is speaking to me. My eyes find it aesthetically pleasing. It's mind-boggling and this is the first concept featuring that logo that I've counted among my favourites, but it fits this jersey. ISLANDERS: A perfect concept. I like that orange as a primary colour better than your suggestion that the teal should be and I exclusively love that shade of teal as an accent. FLYERS: A perfect concept. This looks so much better than the black jersey they currently have, and I love that MBH eschewed using blocks of orange in favour of linework. RED WINGS: I would have included this in the Top 4 if the black and red bands on the sleeves and body were sandwiched between white stripes. BLUES: I love everything about this except for the logos on the sleeves and this would be a perfect concept without them.

1 - it's the goathead, and don't ever apologize for it! 2 - the nonchalant That's What She Said without drawing attention to it was masterful. Well done!

Plenty of good ones. A job well done by the creator! 1. Dallas. Even as a Caps fan, I say; take my money! 2. Los Angeles. The RR is cool, but this shows that black and white also can work, with s-o-m-e purple (or yellow) as an addition. 3. Arizona. Clean.

I love that Canucks jersey!! As a Canucks fan, I'm pretty critical of Canucks concepts (in the same way that you are with the Canadiens), and I'm rarely impressed, but I love this one! I love the 1997-2007 colour palette, and I wish more designers would revisit that era. I feel like it's the forgotten middle period Canucks history

Wow, the sleeves on the Maple Leafs jersey could make for a pretty nice Team Canada jersey.

I'm a Vancouver fan and usually don't like most concepts. But I totally agree, the blue and red era is my favourite as well and this concept would be an incredible jersey. I'd pay full price for that.

These are good but I liked Montreal'sx Iles but how come no shoulder patch for Oilers. Detroit was good as well

Those are some of the best concepts I've seen

The Ottawa one looks like an apron is worn over the jersey. There are some great ones in this set, probably the best overall that I can remember. My top 6 are ARI, CAR, DAL, ANA, TOR & OTT (without the shoulder stripes).

These concepts are all really well done, some of the best so far. My 3 favorites were: 3. Florida Panthers 2. LA Kings 1. New York Islanders ( would buy it if real no questions asked )

These designs were probably the best I've seen on your channel so far. Incredible work. This could, with a few tweaks, go straight out as a new 4th Jersey series by Adidas next year.

The black Red Wings jersey should of been the Reverse Retro jersey

Neil you should do a video "one thing thing I would tweak about every NHL home or away jersey" and then maybe later you could go and do the alternates or the reverse retros.

You should do Ottawa senators jersey history ranking because they have there New Jersey’s

Avs Jersey is clean I'd add a little mountain in the C

That Penguins jersey is one of the most unique and cool ones I've seen in a long time. I love how it basically takes the logo and makes a whole jersey out of it. Not a fan of the Penguins at all but if that jersey was real I would buy it right away.

from a functionality perspective, idk how players would feel about huge patches right in the elbow area. numbers are small and flexible but a big logo patch would probably feel clunky.

Why is MBH's profile suspended?

I’m not red wings fan by any standard but I hate when concept designers use BFBS when doing Detroit jerseys

I think the Nashville and Pittsburgh concepts here are huge improvement of their current ones. Dallas and Buffalo are great. I liked the Blackhawks, but the patches on the arms could be smaller.

Nashville concept is great! imo if you remove the "NP" logo and replace it with the pick logo instead it's a homerun.

Hey Neal, I don’t think a sabers logo should be called a g.o.a.t unless their team is good

As a coyotes fan. If the coyotes started using the kachinas as full time jerseys again then I’d totally accept that as an alternate jersey. Maybe I’m the only one but I like it

I love this concept design but just make a couple of changes take the numbers off of the shoulder and put them in the red on the sleeves also move the C a little further to the right of the logo and then we achieve perfection 😍

With the Canes/Whalers jersey, I can’t help but to see a walrus face... there, ruined it.

Would be cool if you could work it ok so you could some how have the concept creator on zoom call or somthing with you while you react to the jerseys

That particular Rangers logo, I find so bland and generic. It's like it was illustrated by a computer program. There's a bunch of detail, so you have to pay a bunch of attention, but you get nothing out of it. Same with that Panthers logo - cat head coming out of shield shape... Nope nope nope. Here's one definition of good drawing: Saying the most with the least strokes. It fails on that accounting of drawing.
