One of the creepiest ones that is almost a delayed reaction is the kids running around in the kinect dots and you think Wyatt is right behind Robbie, then the mom hits the lights and that figure dissapears and we see Wyatt way further back.
One thing I love about this series, is that it can be subtle in ways that you don't notice at first. When they meet Katie face to face, and she says, after hugging Wyatt, "he looks just like his mom". And at first nothing seems off about it because we know she met their mom. But, he doesn't look much like his mom, or soon be to known as as his adopted mom. Especially when you get the closeups. But, he does look a lot like Kristie, face shape wise. When I first watched this, I guessed he was Hunter off that line. But, I loved your reaction to that reveal. I didn't realize I was so excited for this series, love you guys! Can't wait for The Marked Ones.
I recognized the boy as Hunter from the dark hair and eyes he had as a baby. He might look like Kristi, but I think in those features he resembles Ali, his half-sister on his father's side.
I'd love to see you guys react to Paranormal Activity: the Marked Ones. It's a very different feeling and setting than the first 4, but it still has its ties to the original lore.
@@BeRadMH Exactly. There's no connection to the original family at all. My expectations were so high after the 1st four because each movie gave more pieces of the puzzle. I was expecting the marked to answer some more questions while looking forward to the next one. It didn't deliver anything for me since it had nothing to do with anything like the others. It's kind of like Halloween III: season of the witch. That one had nothing to do with the series beyond the title. But maybe watching the marked ones again will give me some appreciation for it since there's no expectations anymore.
@@stephanieclark9849 again, without spoilers, it most definitely has a connection to the rest of the series. It's not entirely standalone like Halloween III. Unless you're confusing it with the newest movie, Next of Kin, which shouldn't even be called anything Paranormal Activity.
The entire storyline to these first 4 movies is so consistent and kinda genius when you think about it as it was originally a standalone movie. They created a really good storyline that spans decades, even parts 5 and 6 still add to the story of Toby, it's all set out perfectly
14:21 LOL, I think my favorite thing about the Paranormal Activities is how normally everyone talks. 😅 I find it quite charming, and I think it adds to the fear when the spooky stuff goes down because the movie has made it feel like its happening to regular people.
I remember seeing this in theaters. It’s also the first time a theater experience was ruined for me because there were these teenage girls that would not be quiet. They were constantly laughing and screaming.
I had the same experience with this film lol In our case they even went as far as spoiling all the jumpscares ahead of time because they've seen the movie on the internet before.
Friend groups that go see scary movies together are always competing to see who can be the most silliest and scream the loudest with each other, cos they think the audience will laugh at how 'scared' they are.
Katy appearing behind the boy and snapped his neck and chasing Alex and finally running to the cult on the street was legit the most terrifying moment of this franchise for me imo even if people hated the movie. I was scared as hell when this franchise came out because back then most people would think found footage was real
There was a 2012 (?)MTV interview of with the directors of the movie where they explain how Robbie is a messenger for the coven and when it's time for Toby to meet a new child, Robbie basically introduces himself to the child and prepares them for Toby's arrival. Also there was supposed to be a sequel explaining/showing how Hunter got adopted by Alex's family but none of the sequels touched on that storyline unfortunately

This movie grows on the more I watch it, it was near the bottom of my PA movie ranking, but its slowly creeping back up, i remember sitting in the cinema and my jaw dropped when he said "My names not hunter", I do hope you react to Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, easily the best of the franchise.
My friend accidentally ruined the immersion of this movie for me 🤣 in the theater when shit really started going down my friend turned to me and goes “I’ve seen the boyfriend on Disney Channel!” 💀💀💀

I really love these movies! Love the fact that none of them are/were very "known" actor, so it feels more realistic! Also, if I'm not mistaken, many of the jump scares where real for the actors, they wouldn't tell them what was coming, they'd just film the scenes and scare them without them knowing when it came haha
Did you ever noticed in this scene at 9:39? You could barely noticed Alex’s cat clock on the wall stopped moving when the paranormal rumbling sound happened whenever something happens
Kathryn Newton is the actress for Alex, if you want to see another good movie with her you should check out Freaky (2020). It's a horror-comedy that also stars Vince Vaughn.
*This is why you keep watching all the movies in the series and don't stop just because others don't like them all. If it was up to a lot of other ppl, you guys would've stopped watching after the 2nd or 3rd one. There's actually 7 Paranormal Activity movies LOL but "The Marked Ones" doesn't really connect anything to anything. I think they knew ppl really wanted another so they just threw something together. The jumpscares here make you feel like Alex in the movie - you know theres something there but you havent got something big enough to prove it to the others.

@@meropemerope6096 So the blonde girls adopted brother is actually the baby from the second movie. His mother was Katie's sister. So when she said he looks like his mum, she was saying he looks like her sister. So it gives away that the kid is actually Hunter. But it was so subtle I didn't notice it the first few times I watched it.
Man these are SO fun! They all tie together too , more pieces each movie! The infrared Xbox stuff was big back in the day and there was a big thing of people catching figures when using night vision cameras etc but nothing there when the lights turn on, was a real creepy thing back in the day. The complete record apple stuff , it jsut loops and re-records , you can save parts or thr the whole thing up to 48 hours out and then it records over fyi, or used to anyway.
There’s a new one called “next of kin” about an Amish community that I really really liked. I liked all of them but 6 , this one and 4 and next of kin are my favorite ! Love these and getting us in the Halloween spirit!
Oh man, I remember the Kinect when it first came out. We went to Minnesota for a small family vacation and we went to Mall of America. This was the same time the Kinect was on display and people were lined up to try it out. I believe it was right before it came out. I was lucky enough to try it
Definitely finish out the series guys. 5 is great and even the 7th film, a kind of reboot, was surprisingly good. Both 5 and 7 have a different feel to them but both tie in to the mythology of the original.
Answer: 16:41 Motion controls. The camera only records when there's motion. So it's not always recording dead space. Also camera.stops recording when no motion. So all footage is ONLY when something going on.
I love the way these movies show different family dynamics. Katie and Micah, Dan and Kristie, Dennis and Julie all pretty different but at least they all communicate when they need to. Interesting to show a family where talking about any unpleasant things is always avoided. Very realistic.

There's only one demon in this series, Toby. He is able to take whatever form he wants to when needed, i.e., a kid with Wyatt and Robbie, an older man with Katie in part 3. He's powerful enough to do pretty much whatever he wants to further his agenda.
May i make a small suggestion, anytime you guys react to a horror movie, maybe dim the lights in your own background. I find it helps with the immersion of the reaction. Still, keep up the good work.
Fun Fact: There was a post-credits scene in the theatrical showing of the movie and it was a cool way of letting people know that there would be a 5th movie But because it was right after this movie ended, People thought the unknown protagonist was Hunter and didn't know that the 4th movie was the last time we'd ever see Hunter in for the rest of the series. Also Paranormal Activity 4 was the first one I saw back when I was 10, before seeing the other 3

This was 2 years before actress Kathryn Newton appeared on Supernatural as Claire in the Episode the things we left behind. That's the only reason I recognized her now. Nice reaction you two. Take care..xx
At least watch until the marked ones lol. You’ll actually SEE Toby in the 6th one. But the marked ones is THE BEST ONE in the series. It actually connects back all the way to the first one you’ll be so shocked
There's sixs movies BUT there's a paranormal activity 0 (at least that's how it was titled here in mexico) it's side but part of the franchise canon AND the new one called Next of Kin that is like a soft reboot; so in total it's like 8 movies
What I really appreciate about these movies is the way they are each told in a different way using cameras that they would have. The first was all with the camcorder, the second almost all with the security cameras, third was a combo of both if I remember correctly, and then this with webcams and cell phones. While these are not ever going to win awards, they are good for what they are. And they are cheap to make and they make a ton of profit.
Seeing how you're reacting to these movies, I'd say go for the final ones as well. Just so you get to see the ending of the fifth movie and I've heard the sixth is a good one as well. I for one will watch your reactions if you'll continue to finish the paranormal activity universe.
Yes please watch them all. Remember, there is also a spin-off, what they made after the 4th part: "paranormal activity: the Marked Ones", which is really good too. The last one from 2022 "Next of Kim" sucks big time. Has neither to do with the paranormal activity series nor even really with found footage...
I would love to see y’all react to all of the movies !! This one is my favorite but second favorite is the ghost dimension & in my opinion the ghost dimension does a good job at switching up the vibe (mostly Mexican actors) so it feels very new but still has the same set up that we all know and love
