Also, in the "wheel" diy, you can slightly see how the hamster is slightly struggling to move it. I'm not sure if you noticed it, but I thought I'll point that out
@@Oops2007 same, but then I went outside and faced the sad reality of my small town in one of the most conservative areas of the most homophobic country in the EU :,(
I remember my brother made a science experiment, of if a hamster can get through a maze. (They can) We made the maze out of cardboard and cardboard tubes, because we KNOW plasitic is bad for them. I also did an experiment of if a hamster can get through a maze better, if they have due in their food, or if they don’t.
For those wondering why balls are bad besides injury it’s bc hamsters are basically blind. I think they can only see around 4 ft in front on them. So they use their sense of smell to get around. So the ball is essentially blocking their eyesight
I love how the cage in the bg has 2 levels! Also side note my school has this room with like 10 pets including a few mice and we had that exact small cage in the video but only used it to separate the 2 new rats one time (for a few mins till we found a bigger temp cage that was laying around) cuz they were trying to kill each other and we soon got rid of one and kept the other one in a nice big cage. 🙂
I have a question. I recently upgraded my hamster's cage to a much bigger one, before she would bite bars and climb up the walls and ceiling. Now I have an aquarium tank that is a 10 1/2 by 20 1/2 before she had a 12 by 10 (inches) shes able to breathe in the new cage she seems much happier in the cage upgrade. The only toys she has been made by paper towel tubes. she gets fed in a normal hamster cup half full. Am I overfeeding and is she in a good cage?
Just looking a the title of the video with the guinea pig. "How to sneak pets into school"....Sure that's gonna work. So long as the teacher never asks why your backpack is constantly squealing.
ngl came across you in my recommended (i guess bc i own rats?) but today i learned Hamsters need alotta fricken space, like thats more square floor space then for a rat o.o, ofc could be because hamsters spend more time in cage (honestly dont know)? my rats dont really spend more then 3 hours at a time in their cage during the day, at night ofc different story XD
I watched that video a while back and I commented on how the cage is WAY to small, other people agreed with me but Troom Troom hasn't said anything about it.
Me : um why do they need the eye shadow palet .... me again : oh never i know what its going to be . Erin at the end of the vidoe: not suprised it troom troom
I think the fanny pack one if made right could make a good way to take them for vent trips, it would make it easier for the owner to carry, the way they made it though is awful
i think im going to scream i cant freaking believe that stupid troom troom did this to those poor babies. okay, everyone, we need to make a plan on how to save troom troom's hammys any ideas???????
[Question ] How deep should a pool of water be to be safe for Hamsters and can i leave the Hamsters alone with it? Id like to create a cute little 'beach' for my future Hamsters
You can create fake water using blue coloured paper bedding, but hamsters shouldn't have any large areas of water in their enclosure as they are strictly land mammals. Climbing into water and getting too wet can be very damaging to their fur and skin, the only water they should have is in a very small bowl for drinking from :)
Work out if it’s big enough by timesing the width and length together In inches- that’ll tell you how big it is- under 450 inches is too small :) but yea it sounds good xx :)
My hamster has a blast and hamster balls and we have a dog. Is there a good alternative that would give him a similar experience to running around in the ball
Playpens, bathtubs and/or hamster-proofing a small room and free roaming them are all far safer and more enriching options than a ball. Dogs should always be closed in a separate room when you have a small animal out playing :)
This is very much true. Did you notice how the hamster was actually trying to get out. It looked more stressed then "safe" and "fun" as Troom Troom puts it.
I can’t stand when people treat hamsters like toys, and also just because they’re small and relatively cheap they think that they don’t need to give them medical treatment, THEY ARE STILL LIVING THINGS!! LOOK AFTER THEM PROPERLY
@Mehrangiz Rahimzade This is going to sound cringy but animals that i can actually bond with e.g. dogs, hamsters, turtles ect.. i don't like to call them pets.
@@rhys896 i understand not calling animals pets as long as you still recognize how to treat them as pets (or wild animals depending on what kind of animal and where it is from) so they don't get either spoilt or mistreated. (because too much spoiling of animals can be bad too, for example obese dogs.)
I take my Hamster to the vet ones a month to get his nails clipped, his teeth checked and a general health check. He also lives in a coconut and his name is Coconut.
Despite being a bird person, I feel a connection to rodent people (and also reptile people). We all deal with watching our favorite animals suffer due to the fact that the general population isn't educated enough. They don't understand how much cage/enclosure space these animals need, how much mental enrichment they need, what to give for a healthy diet, what environmental dangers there are for these animals (funny you mentioned ingesting fabric, because that's a main cause for the potentially fatal 'impacted crop' in birds), the physical exercise you need to facilitate for these animals, etc. Not to mention, at least for birds and rodents- particularly budgies/cockatiels and gerbils/hamsters respectively- they are often viewed as some sort of "easy pet for kids". In my opinion, no living creature should be a child's responsibility. It's unfair on the animal and unfair on the child, and these animals aren't that simple.
*P R E A C H* I have 3 budgies, a mom a brother and a sister they share a cage because the mom and son hate being separated 2 are somewhat tamed but I can never get them to come to me and is a struggle to take them to my room (they’re in the Second living room)
I have two budgies, I have had them since January and they are only starting to finally become slightly more comfortable with me. I would almost certainly not call them ‘kid pets’. They require SO much patience and mine are still addicted to seeds.. I’m trying to get them onto a better diet but it’s still pretty difficult as they refuse to eat different fruits and vegetables I give them. ( For some reason, my attempt at sprouting seeds didn’t work. They just smelt horrible and started to mould.)
The second hack. The hamster was looking through the whole probably trying to get air. If your gonna do that....which you shouldn’t....then they need bigger air holes.
Anonym dude that’s barely enough of an air hole, more of a random hole on the cap. Only two small holes for one hamster who is USING THIS FOR ENRICHMENT AKA EXERCISE is barely enough! Remember that hamster balls are still bad for them
@@ReverieCat They're advising people do things that are very dangerous and cruel to animals. Their main demographic is children. They're actively teaching children to be cruel to animals.
Yeah. Usually tall bird cages aren’t the best. Most birds fly across rather that straight up and down. Also that cage is NOT AND I REPEAT IS NOT a bird cage. That cage should never EVER be used for ANY permanent home for ANY animal! No animal should ever have a home that small. MAYBE JUST MAYBE a travel cage for a VERY small animal!
My bird cage takes up the whole wall and is huge (it's meant for a parrot but I have two parakeets) and I open the cage door for 2+ hours a day to keep them from getting bored. And yet others just put them a little cage and never open the door, just a bit of food and water..
God, If I was more educated and new how to build better stuff for pets, I would totally do that. She needs to start a Kickstarter to make this happen or anybody really.
7:45 Ugh I can’t stand hamster youtubers and their unrealistic care. Like seriously, hamsters need air? That’s so extra... Lol great video! Hope no poor hamster has to suffer in any of these contraptions
My main problem with their hamster “ball” is the fact they didn’t cover the sides of the cut plastic inside. Since they just shoved it into each other, whichever one is on top will have its edges exposed. If it doesn’t lay down perfectly or if a side lifts up slightly the hamster could get cut.
Yeah. I have a ball for my Syrian because that is one of the only ways they can explore. I make sure that she is never around stairs and that there is a dark place for her to hide if needed. We clean the ball to make sure there is no dirt in it. I know it’s not the best for her but I am trying to make sure she can explore outside her cage.
It's horrible the way you do it with hamsters. I think you need to reconsider because these ways hurt hamsters. These little animals also need to be loved
Psychology: Animals have feelings, can be driven insane, and are capable of many of the same emotions, attachments, and reactions that humans have. Many have complex societies and even languages! Biology: Animals have similar needs to us, like oxygen, food, water, companionship and exercise. They also have these adaptations that make them more/less susceptible to certain hazards and some things are more/less toxic to them than us because of this/that. Troom Troom: Hm? Did you say something? *Already doing the thing*
L L I like to hope that cats don't feel existential dread and many of the things that make people pause and wonder if living is really worth the mark we make on this world. Cats are happy to live, eat, hunt, love, and comfort hopefully without the extra baggage we put on everything. I know they can get depressed, that you have to make sure they get all the attention and love they need because they do feel negative emotions just as much as positive ones... but I can't stand the thought of my cat looking out the window and thinking a lot of the dark thoughts that people do. Otherwise, yes. I know they have empathy, are SUPER intelligent, and if they had opposable thumbs it would be like having a ten-year old who is constantly hungry in the house.
I feel so bad for the hamsters I had when I was younger😔 companies definitely take advantage of children when it comes to small pets like fish and hamsters. I'm glad I know better now in case I ever get another hammy. Always research your pets!
As a kid it isn't your responsibility though. When parents buy their kid a pet they should research what that pet really needs and be prepared to take care of it if their child loses intrest in said pet (it doesn't always happen, but I have seen quite a few cases where for instance a rabbit was brought to a shelter once the kid lost intrest)
@@blep993 its so true; a lot of parents will get their kids a pet without doing research because they simply just don't see small pets as important or lovable. Then the only research the parents get is just deceptive marketing strats. Its sad that you can't get good advice from pet stores or breeders a lot of times; especially since thats the information parents will most likely listen to and go off of when getting their kids a pet
@@blep993 this is so true. I was the only one in our family who knew anything about aquariums and fish, but I was only 11 years old. My parents also often ignored what I said about the fish care, like when one of them got sick and needed quarantine and medicine (I had a book on fish care where it said so), but of course I didn't have the means to do that, so in the end almost all of them got sick and died. Have to add many adults also think you can take care of dogs and cats just based on that their parents, grandparents, etc. had pets 50 years ago. My aunt litterally thought I'd teach my puppy to pee only outside by pushing it's muzzle to the puddle of pee it made inside the house. While this was in the late 90's, even back then dog training was already based on science rather than folklore. Though the science of the time was flawed at the core ( = based on the assumption that wolf packs have a strong hierarchy). I'm glad that we learn more about animals all the time.
I wish people stopped arguing in these comment and accept THIS IS ANIMAL ABUSE putting your pet in a bottle without much air? Surprised it didn’t suffocate
I watched Victoria Rachel's WHOLE channel before getting a hamster and then realised I didn't have enough money for afford proper care so I saved up for 2 more years to make sure I had vet funds! My mum didn't understand me
I feel guilty because my parents apparently knew nothing about hamsters because we did all the hamster no-no’s and I had no idea it was wrong because I was four and four-year-olds don’t exactly have access to much animal care education.
@@billcipher8295 yesterday my hamsters eyeball swelled up and my mum told me to wait and see what happened (bearing in mind I have £300 backup vets Bill's so I'm prepaed) and she told me to wait so in an hour no matter what she says I'm going to give the vet a call.
Excactly! I have had my 2 hamsters for nearly 2 years now, and I did my research from Victoria Raechel. I’m a 11 year old now and kids these days have no clue about hamster care because of these RU-vid channels. I’m sorry but it’s not fair on the children and the hamsters.
Same, I feel like this video of Troom Troom should be taken down until some other poor kid finds this video thinking that these hacks are perfectly safe. I can’t emphasize how much you need to do your research before you get a hamster or any other animal in general, since too many pets wind up getting neglected. I also think the videos of bathing hamsters in water should be taken down too. If you want me to explain why bathing hamsters in water is bad for them, feel free to ask.

That was my first thought especially after she was talking about how old they are so sad to think about especially considering they almost definitely are not getting the proper care in a healthy environment
Troom Troom has obviously done some... questionable things to animals, and i think we can all agree that some are not that safe or humane for the poor pet😥
Finally - someone made a video on this. Troom troom is massive and is watched by many kids who'll now want a hamster and put them in such a small cage. Edit: forgot to mention they'll probably also want to house multiple hamsters together, likely two Syrians since syrians are just so popular.
Five minute crafts is undoubtedly worse, they have had videos suggesting you put strawberries in BLEACH, which we can all see the problem with...Maybe 2 years ago I got horrible burns by following one of their glue gun hacks involving a mass amount of melted glue. Troom Troom is still HORRIBLE.
Considering how young the hamsters are there’s definitely a chance that they got them just for the video and are planning on selling or even abandoning them after filming. I know this is sometimes common and you shouldn’t get a pet just for a video or popularity...
