In my head, midnights might seem like it has a messy storyline because it’s about sleepless nights ~throughout~ her life - it’s not just about one period of her life like her other albums. But love both albums 💙🤍

People who say she needs to get over Kim k have no idea what it feels like to have someone lie about you and turn a bunch of people against you lol

Third and i think "i look in ppls windows" shouldve been longer.

Midnights is definitely more of a concept album than storyline like TTPD - the concept of her reviewing her past relationships and how they failed to figure out if she is the reason her relationship with Joe was breaking down

Also, I totally agree on the reputation rumors and the tortured poets. I think we did not let the tortured poets have its time to shine and I think we need To calm down, this is getting out of hand, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, we are literally chanting more

My unpopular opinion is that neither Midnights nor TTPD deserve hate 😭 they’re both no skips! And no I’m not someone who just loves everything Taylor does, I have my dislikes too!

The thing about midnights though is it is supposed to be about 13 sleepless nights throughout Taylor’s life. So because it is all about different things and in different times it is hard to string the pieces together. For example I believe “bejewelled” is about Joe Alwyn and “would’ve could’ve should’ve” is about John Mayer, both songs are supposedly about sleepless nights in very different times of Taylor’s life. I imagine the album midnights as more of a summation of all of Taylor’s albums and a summary of her life. ❤

I personally share the opinion that the Anthology could've been released later, because though you have a point about it being evaluated together with the standard edition, versions of her albums like the deluxe editions of evermore, midnights, or others are still considered in the context of the whole album though released days, weeks, or months later

Why do people expect taylor to let it go, what Kim did to Taylor was horrible. I agree with you if that ever happened to me I would never let it go because I’m just a girl 😂

She really just needed the anthology songs out in time for Surprise Songs on the Eras Tour. Especially since there's an official end date now

I cant believe that there are people who are clowning for rep tv already. I love making silly little theories, but these theories are all about the next single or music video, not a whole new album. And these same people begging for reputation tv are the ones that hate on taylor for not letting go of the kim k drama, which was what brought reputation around in the first place.

I also think midnights might being messy might just be how she was feeling at that time. After hearing TTPD it just feels to me that when she was doing midnights she was feeling all over the place and so she decided to look back on her past. "looking backwards might be the only way to move forward" -The Manuscript.

I felt that comment about the clowning! I used to never fall into that but since she’s been so active these last few years I’ve just gotten more and more into the rabbit hole, even though I really want want to take my time and enjoy TTPD because I love it SO much! As far as seeing the two halves of TTPD as separate, I sort of did the first few days, but that’s mostly just because if you look at the tracks that would be, 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, closing they all work SO well in the category of those particular patterns she has made with her other albums. So it would be cool in that sense but it definitely feels like it’s one whole thing. And she definitely should have given The Anthology a separate cover, but this way she was able to leave Easter Eggs without us really truly guessing for the most part and that’s cool.

i dont think you can really compare midnights and ttpd by their storyline bc midnights is about 13 different sleepless nights in her life and ttpd is mainly about one specific thing and almost follows the same story. but i do think everyone is entitled to their own opinion and how you feel about comparing midnights and ttpd is totally up to you.

My unpopular opinion is that I think TTPD is my least favorite Taylor album.

I still think the anthology was better and gave me more of a tortured poet vibe. I think that was my biggest issue with TTPD, it just didn't match the title for me until the anthology. It's a good album, but isn't top tier for me. It's right above Rep in my album rankings.

Ohh this one won't be liked but it's a grammar fact. 'The Anthology' portion of the TTPD: The Anthology refers to all 31 songs and not just the songs not released on the standard album.

There are certain narratives that Taylor has been spinning for a while that I do think are overdone at this point, like the "nothing new" thing, but I'm letting her have her moments with the Kim narrative. I think people forget just how bad that was when it happened, and don't think about how they would feel under the same circumstances. I'm not surprised it still comes back to haunt her, so if she needs to process that still, I'm all ears.

In my opinion, I keep seeing people who rank ttpd put waolom in first and the manuscript in last. I think that people should appreciate other songs and stop hating on other songs. (Another opinion: I like the anthology more because songs like peter, the bolter, how did it end? Have such good storytelling and emotion, I feel as if the first half is good, put not as poetically well written)

I think that the “who’s the song about?” theories went too far at initial release, I saw more about that than people liking the songs

The title track “ the tortured poets department” is the best song
