So Calliope Mori (Cuh LIE oh pee More ee) is an English speaking v-tuber. She produces more music than the average v-tuber in Hololive, but she does a healthy mix of all sorts of streaming (just chatting, music, game play, even some ASMR). She speaks Japanese pretty well and tends to bring both Japanese and English into her raps. The person behind the character has been active in the Japanese rap scene for a much longer time than this particular project, but I think all her best work is here. It won't take much digging if you want to find other stuff she's made, especially if you follow up on these comments about Tophamhat Kyo/FAKE TYPE. I recommend End of a Life from her if you want the most professional sounding listenable song. I fully believe it's mainstream quality. Everything she has made has been incredible though. I see other people have recommended Tophamhat Kyo to you, which is probably a good place to start if you want more Japanese rap with some swing elements. He has a lot of solo work and also works under a group called FAKE TYPE. La Primavera is a personal favorite from Fake Type, but honestly everything Kyo touches is golden. Kyo's newest song Good Luck, Clown is actually HIGHLY listenable and very much worth a look.
If you're looking for more Japanese from Calli, she did a collab recently with a Japanese group Boogey Voxx, which includes a rapper (Fra) and a singer (Ci) and their stuff is primarily in Japanese with only a bit of English thrown in usually. I'd recommend the song Graveyard Shift they did with Calli, it's really good! If you wanna do a twofer, they also did a song called Crown together that's also good, I just personally liked Graveyard Shift more.

There are no limits to what vTubers can do, but Cover Co doesn’t pay for their talent’s music videos, so this one was paid for by Mori herself, right when she started, so still images in slideshow style is much cheaper, now she’s doing fully animated/live shows with effects
Calliope Mori (pronounced Cal-lie-owe-pee More-ee) was a rapper born & raised in the US, but has been living in Japan for a few years before she became a vTuber. Her raps are very lyrically technical and she often weaves double or triple meanings to her lyrics (augmented by the use of both English and Japanese wordplay working in tandem). Her vTuber character is that of the Grim Reaper's first apprentice, but she's taking a temporary break from reaping souls to pursue her music. As such, most of her music references themes of death. The character's name Calliope is a reference to the Greek muse of music and poetry (and by extension, the instrument of the same name), hinting towards her musical background. The family name Mori is derived from the latin phrase "memento mori" ("remember your death") hinting to the death/reaper themes of her character.
First off, subscribed! Secondly, you've probably been told dozens of times (or found out yourself, this is the first video of your's I've seen), but Calli's whole shtick is that she's a Shinigami - or basically the Japanese version of a reaper. Her character that she portrays is that she's taking a break from reaping to focus on her rap career - and doing other things with streams and other vtubers and whatnot. Hence all the references to ending lives, taking their souls, etc. She refers to her fans as "Dead Beats." She's actually super sweet when it comes down to it, but often plays it off like she's in denial and whatnot. Also a massive dork at times. Also, one line literally nobody mentions that I love is at the beginning... "modern day killers really must hate fun, more often people takin' lives rockin' knives & guns." Callie is what is known as Gap Moe. It's a way of being cute by denying your cuteness and trying to act cool but actually being a dork. It's kind if like the concept of adding salt to sugar to make it more sweet.

So, big Calli fan here, and gotta say She an awesome combination of what you describe in the video as, "a beautiful cake WITH BLOOD INSIDE," and just an incredibly sweet dork One minute she's on a tangent threatening her viewers And the next she's completely flustered because her chat is showering her with superchats and affection, or she's fumbled something in a game, or she doesn't understand how to play the kazoo (Seriously, look that last one up, it's so funny) Been an absolutely joy to both watch her streams and listen to her music (Also, a bunch of others have recommended it already, but you should check out the artist DemonDice if you like Calliope's work)
I guess the best way to describe hololives V-tubers are, that they’re V-tubers, but they’re not just V-tubers. Calliope made this for her fan base, but her other stuff is a mix of things.
If you want another really good vtuber song you need to check out Reflect- Gawr Gura. It is more of a pop song but it is really good and I like it, it is a really well done song that is delivered amazingly with her voice. you will have to watch it with captions on to know the lyrics but the captions are red and blue, red being her evil side and blue being her good side
A bit of fun fact about calliope mori's name is that the name calliope came from greek mythology who is a muse who presides over eloquence and epic poetry Which is cool considering that calliope mori is a rapper
This was her 1st original song so it was mostly an introduction to her reaper character and design. But after that, it is mostly songs that she writes or covers which sometimes are for fun, some emotional feel or some really good bars. There's alot of Hololive girls and boys [Holostars] And I can tell you for certain that EVERYONE in Hololive can sing since they are idols [mostly comedians] As of now there is Hololive JP [ Main branch, it has 7 generations as of now ] Hololive EN [ Has 2 generations and Project: Hope which is 1 member and the middle between gen 1 and 2 ] There is Hololive ID [ Has 2 gens as of now and honestly pretty underrated ] And of course Holostars, the boy's branch [ has 3 gens as of now and is probably the most underrated.] Some minor notes is that JP isnt 1 - 7 because it has Generation 0 A member of Gen 0 is Azki who is primarily part of a separate singing branch but can appear on streams too The only sad part is that some members have left Hololive, the most recent one I think being Kiryu Coco, one of the members of Gen 4 in the JP Branch but she was really really good at english too I think a good way to slowly get into the community is watching a video called "A Guide to Hololive" as it does really give basic info which is very easy to digest. Some songs I do recommend tho are: Houshou Marine's Original song Ahoy Hoshimachi Suisei's cover of Saga Jihen Amane Kanata's cover of Ghost Rule Kiryu Coco's Original song Weather Hackers and her cover of Fansa And lastly Kureiji Ollie's cover of Hey Kids But trust me, there are MANY MANY MANY songs to digest.

You are quite new to V-tubers I would assume. So please let me explain. V-tubers is just youtuber or streamer that use a virtual avatar as their persona. They don't want to show their self as for personal reasons or following contract as some V-tubers are under certain company. Their content is same with any other content creators just with a virtual avatar. As for Mori Calliope, she is a V-tuber under Hololive. It's a Japanese company that has hired many talents as V-tubers in Japan. Mori Calliope is part of the holomyth and are in a group with few other, their are hololive first english branch. Her specialty is her rap songs, but she also do other genre to like jazz. She always have a new original or cover each month and have already released an album with 4 to 5 songs. So you really should check her out.
