Reaction - BABYEMETAL - Legend of 1997 Headbanger 

Headbanger is about coming of age, but they use the tale of a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday to illustrate it. There are fan cam videos taken from concerts in France and Germany in 2014 (they played these two before their appearance at Sonisphere where they really broke through in the west) where Su ceremonially handed over the mic and stand to Yui (it was her 15th birthday) and Moa (it would be her 15th birthday within days) and each took over the lead vocals for the last verse or so and the end of the song while Su took their place.

That show, in 2013, was a special concert to celebrate Su-metal's 16th birthday. Hence "Legend 1997", the year in which Suzuka Nakamoto was born.

The 'ki-e-ro' crowd chant moment at 4:25 still gives me goosebumps to this day. Made all the more effective as the instruments all come back in. Cheers!

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 As ClawCarver pointed out, this was a special 2013 concert for Su's sixteenth Birthday, called 'Legend 1997'. This concert started with nine songs that included the "Baby Bones" miming as their backup band, but finished up with a five song encore featuring the live Kami Band. There were actually two more songs after this 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' performance. At this point that was one of their biggest hits, although this same concert saw the debut of 'Gimme Chocolate !!'.

This "Legend 1997" (along with "Legend 1999" on the same disc) was the first Show I ever bought from them on Blu-Ray. And you can hardly imagine the amount of joy I had just from watching the footage if you don't experience it for yourself. And it was absolutely crazy how I got pumped. This was the first and only time I watched one of their shows in the late evening because I couldn't get into sleep for hours after that.

BM show = amazing girls + amazing Kamis + amazing audience

If you want to see how they use the statue, you need to watch the last song: Babymetal Death Legend 1997. :-) An other amazing performance. Edit: I think the reason why this show (and Budokan) comes up a lot with reactions is purely for practical reasons, a lot of their shows are blocked on RU-vid. The other shows all have their own amazing elements too. Babymetal allows these shows to remain on RU-vid, more as promotional material I think.

Another enjoyable reaction guys I love this song .Do not worry they will tour again it is getting tickets which is the hard part .Every time I watch a song from this show I always love watching the guy in the Pikachu costume bouncing as high as he can. Little did he know how famous he would be . Wonder who he is ?

yes they are a show. now as others have said this show was for Su's 16th birthday. the last song was wild. the song death normally was the opening song til this show. it was epic to finish a show. it was for her to die and be reborn as a queen. not really a true song in the sense but a show with the crowd interaction. there are still so many of their songs to react to. they did come to the USA this year in May. there are several good fan cams from the Atlanta show that is good to react to. but Yui was not there so they still had Moa but then had two more girls in the background dancing to the mix. the Atlanta crowd was the best for here.

Even though Su can certainly hit some high notes, I really love her voice in this range. She's so powerful and mature sounding. Most of my favorite BM songs have her singing in this range. I am saddened knowing this a tune that probably won't be performed live again since all the "girls" are adults now. (BTW- I love the "I'm 18" ending, I've just always wondered if it was intentional)

Another video I'd like to recommend is from the Tokyo Dome show and features two songs that were originally created as a single one, but then split before release: "Tale of the Destinies" and "The One". The first one is Prog Metal at its best à la Dream Theater, the second is a more mellow, but epic tribute to the fans (The One is what they call the fanbase). There's a special gimmick in the show to incorporate the 55.000 fans in the audience that I'm not going to spoil, but it's incredible! The whole thing is 18 minutes long, but it will keep you entertained throughout. That performance will leave you speechless, I promise!
