Hi! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN? Just joking. I like your nickname :) Is it common knowledge that her song Head in the Wall is an homage to Title Fights ´Head in the Ceiling Fan´? what do you think? Heeheeee
omg! i'm so excited for y'all to go down the ethel cain rabbit hole... preacher's daughter is a MASTERPIECE of a concept album and it changed my life... the story behind it and ethel cain as a character is so tragic. and the music is so perfectly reflective of the story. the fact that ethel (aka hayden) came up with all of this herself is just insane. she's so talented.
Love that yall brought up movie again because this was actually a concept album for like a movie soundtrack idea of a character named Ethel Cain. Hayden made up this character and an entire story/concept album based on her. This and family tree along with the albums before it on the album are like the first chapter/backstory of the character. There’s one more after that’s more of a backstory song but the next song is her getting out of town. Also Jake saying her music being there for people going through things made me giggle at first just because of the concept that happens throughout the album is insane, but then I thought about it and without knowing the backstory, absolutely. She builds such a picture of tragedy that it makes you feel less alone
personally i like the reactors to just listen to it for what it is and learn about the story after cos in ways i think it can cheapen it a little when u dont just take the songs for what they tell you
@@magpie685 definitely fair. Also what they’ll likely do! Think it’s easier to follow the storyline if they’d be doing the whole album but they can’t which is why I figured genius might be able to put things together a bit!
It always excites me when there’s people who actually take the time to comprehend the lyrics and meaning behind Ethel’s work. Looking forward to the next videos!
It started very slow n picked up with suffering n pain in her voice guitar, piano, etc, very sad! Her voice is nice , but damn, I wanna give her a hug* Hope she’s feeling better now?!
I think I mentioned it before, but it’s fitting you’d say it feels like a movie - the album was first conceived as a film, but she couldn’t make it so she made a soundtrack/concept album that would essentially be the score to that film
Brilliant style of reaction video lads. It's refreshing to see one where the host doesn't stop the song every five minutes in order to, essentially, get a ray of the lime light. Your faces convey it all, and that's what we want to see, to see if you're as moved as we are. Great stuff. Love from the UK.
