You couldn't have been more accurate with Karl Ess (the let's call him "college advisor") being the German Andrew Tate. If you value your sanity, don't look him up.
Just another one of these guys who claim to be the greatest but fail utterly everytime you put them to the test. I remember when he decided to be a powerlifter. Won his state championship (probably without competition), proclaimed himself to be the best thing since sliced bread and then didn't even get a single lift in at nationals, iirc. That was a funny day. He's all talk like every other guru.

I was on a seminar about two months ago with my fellow trainees. On every occasion, someone of us said "Schaun wa mal, was wird" and the others replied "Was wird" to a point we drove our instructors crazy.
Es gibt aber von dem Kanal noch mehrere Videos. Ich find vor allem die Erklärungen nach den Clips klasse, mit dem "Orangensaft" konnte ich ohne Text gar nichts anfangen. 😅
I think you might be ready for "Harry Potter und ein Stein." You have seen Staplerfahrer Klaus and "Hamm wir noch pepp" and so much more, it's not really a meme but if you were born shortly before 2000 and were on the internet these videos are part of us.
@@LeoTheDarkAngel I mean yes it is too long format to be one single meme but I would argue that within it endless memes are contained. "SCHINKEN!" "Hast du sie gerade dumm genannt?" "Ich bin keine Eule." "ist Neville jetzt tot?" List goes on. It is like Staplerfahrer Klaus, every moment is gold.
This is probably one of the best compilations of these I've seen. Near-perfect subtitles, actually comprehensible context info, and a decent selection of clips. Good choice!
that guy with the pepps was actually doing a study on drug users in and around berlin I think. it was for is doctors degree and he started to study their manourisms in great detail while working on it. he was never addicted himself but he became so good at imitating them that his friends and him started to make these little videos. gotta tell you it's on point. I had multiple people tell me they ran into just such a guy in berlin. mad respect to him
A little explanation to Money Boy, the rapper with the orange juice: He's most definitely playing a character, the stereotypical "Gangsta" rapper. So yes, he's basically cosplaying as a rapper ^^' Out of character, he actually has a diploma in communication studies, which likely helped create and maintain that character
he clearly was a trained drinker to still be able to somehow drive with 5.5‰...usually the police will not even arrest you above 3‰, but send you to hospital first, as it becomes life-threatening.
A lot of these clips are so much better because of the dialect and/or slang the people use that just seems very strange. That is what made some of those lines unforgettable imo
3:44min I'm not into HipHop but I think I heard MoneyBoy is really just cosplaying. I mean he has a diplom and magister in communication and marketing - he knows what he's doing. He's just acting like HipHop fans expect him to act.
Money boy is playing a character no doubt but he has also been releasing music for over a decade now. There are some gems among his tracks that show that he is not just acting the part. While some people hate him there is a decent chunk of german rappers that respect him like Bushido or Kwam.E
Eine Nudel kräftigt ... eine Nudel kräftigt nicht nur, Energie bringt sie auch. Ich kann keine Nudeln mehr kochen, ohne die "Ode an die Nudel" von Peter vor mich hinzubeten.
that news report floored me. dude got primed with the drunken couple and then got sent with the Hohen Asch which he for sure misread as Arsch (ass) and almost misspoke Kackendordrein , sry Kaltennordheim. an then to top it off: "along the Rhön 84.000 [cubic]meters of wood are cut each year, and 100.000 meters are re-growing each year. sorry, that shouldn't be like this." implying the forest shouldn't regrow.. 💀
Even easier to get the Hohe Asch wrong if you're looking at the subtitles where it says "Hohe Marsch", there you already got the r for "Arsch" 😂 Since the Hohe Asch is basically around the corner where I live, the misspelled subtitles struck my eye immediately.
The Noodle guy was from a series that was broadcasted for years where they followed a family of just brothers owning a scrapyard. The guy cooking took over the role of the deceased mother and cared for the guys. They had an Incredibly messy place but one of them had the fascinating talent to without looking tell if they had a specific car part on storage and where to find it, so in a way it was an organized chaos.
I really like your reaction videos. You never miss the important parts and are smart enough to grasp the background quickly, which makes it ever so enjoyable
It's really cool to see that you actually seem to understand almost all of the nuances of these memes, which is usually pretty difficult from the subtitles alone. I really enjoyed this video, well done :)
I love that there are proper explainations I occasionally watch other people reacting to german clip compilations and they're always kept clueless what's happening half of the time because those video don't explain anything. Whoever made this one, respect.
To give some context about the guy getting his ski stuck in the bus, that was a scripted stunt for an insurance ad. The guy flipping the Ski is Didier Cuche, a professional Swiss skier. After a ski race Cuche would often flip his ski up in a similar manner and catch it, which became basically his trademark. I can't remember which insurance company this was for, but they've sponsored him for years
Surely one of the best: A fan of the soccer club Schalke 04 in a TV interview, but he was so dense, he did not understand any question and told completely unrelated answers.
Money Boy is most definitely cosplaying as a rapper :D He has a university degree in publicising and communication science. His songs aren't too serious but at the time he first released them no one knew who he was and he pretended to be quite serious and this was 2010 so the internet and it's humor was still a bit different back then. ;) you should check out "Dreh den Swag auf" (a soulja boy cover) it's pretty bad but people loved it :D
The noodle guy at 11:02 is one of the main characters in the German reality soap "Die Ludolfs - 4 Büder auf'm Schrottplatz" which with 93 episodes was a major success. The series is about the Ludolfs, a family of four brothers living and running a vehicle recycling company / junkyard together in their own, very quirky way and that does include cooking their noodles. Second clip from the show is the yelling guy calling two of his brothers at 13:01.
in germany it´s illegal to film and "publish" it without consent of the filmed people (it may be legal for private use). But its defenitely forbidden to film without consent in private businesses
Are you talking about the Hutbürger? No, you are wrong. It is not illegal for journalists to film people at public demonstrations, even close-ups of faces, according to German media law.
Best thing about money boy is that this guy has a Magister in Philosophy and his thesis was about "the reception of aggressive and sexist song lyrics and their effects on young listeners"
Oh, you have to check videos of the Ludolfs (the man with the noodles). The TV show followed the life of the 4 brothers (later only 3 as one of the brothers died) who are the owners of a scrap yard. Peter is the guy who cooks, there are quite some funny things he says about different foods :D Topics of the series often were finding parts in the very large heaps of stuff, recycling of old cars, and some silly stuff like races or experiments with cars. Peter is the brother who knows where each part is which the customer wants to have and also cooks for the other brothers.
the elderly couple is about him reapeting her words. it became a popular thing to just do that in everyday business. so if someone says "lets see what happens" (schau'n wir mal was wird) the other person present replies with "what happens" (was wird)
sven and michel was great and im actually a old friend of sven we lived together back in 2014. this was not the only clip, they did a lot more stuff like that and as we lived togrthrt as teenagers we didnt stop doing stuff like this ^^ it was a great time back then.
To give a little bit of extra context to the Hutbürger thing: Under normal circumstances, he would actually be right, you aren't allowed to just randomly film people without their permission as Germany recognizes a right to one's own image. However, since he was participating in a demonstration and demonstrations are meant to be seen, the law doesn't apply in this case. Participation in demonstrations means you are giving implicit consent for your image to be broadcasted in news reporting.
There was an Austrian rapper who had an international hit song in the early 1980s, Falco "Der Kommissar". It has been covered twice by English language bands. But the original was already "Denglisch", Austrian dialect German mixed with English. Still a great song today.
The clip around 11:40 'Haben wir noch Pepps?' is part of a mockumentary about a roadtrip to Barcelona. It even has a short entry in the IMDB. :) The scene you see is during a break at the autobahn and has become very famous. He later looks at the red flowers in the background and asks 'This is Mars? UNNORMAL!' Love&Peace Shen
The guy with the delicious pasta is out of a documentaion tv Show about a Family of car recycler on „DMAX“ called „die ludolfs“ very funny and a meme generator at it self.
Hey I am coming from Germany. And I need to change some subtitles because this will make u thing differently from this older man with the glasses. At 3:58 this woman was asking him if he has a girlfriend or a boyfriend waiting at his home (and not "You probably have a loved one at home right?") And this is the reason he says he rejects these insinuations (4:01). In short, she asked him if he is gay publicly, this one is really insulting and disrespectful especially for older people.
I can’t believe they left out the funniest part in the ‘haben wir noch pepps’ video, where he goes ‘Ich sag immer, wer einen smiley zu viel macht, hat irgendwann auch nichts mehr zu lachen’ (I always say, those who do one smiley (LSD) too many will eventually have nothing to laugh about anymore)
My Favourite meme is the first one! we allways use these line when going out with friends... i make so, car makes so, accident... you can pretty much change car to everything that fits xD
"That's like really through there" was a funny observation. 😂 It's very german by the way to not really react in the face of something veeery out of the ordinary. We're so stiff.
That RU-vid Series by Thomas with the clip about Amphetamines is a comedic road trip documentary that was made for a Bachelor Thesis (like other clips here) if I remember correctly.
Great video, I was really entertained the time ! You should react to a video/ meme of farid bang (german rapper) in which he can’t stop laughing. Also a classic, which i would like to know if non-german speakers think of it as really funny as well :)
I have some context to the ski flip scene. The Ski in this Flip if done correctly should've landed in the hand off the skier. This was a signature move from a swiss skier.
7:54 a very old clip. The scene is filmed twice, once without the boys. In the first shot the wardrobe falls. The second shot the kids pull the tablecloth. Mixed together the two shots. Great stuff because the people thought it was real.
That has to be explained to people from Scotland because Kevin is a very common name in Scotland, Ireland and English-speaking countries. It comes from the Gaelic and means "handsome". It is not negative at all in English. So for Mert and other people from the UK: In Germany, Kevin is a chav name. It started to be used in the 1980s, presumably after films with Kevin Costner became popular. It's a generational thing along with names like Chantal, etc. In Scotland, the best and funniest illustration of these name fads is a sequence by Kevin [!] Bridges (a stand-up comedian) called "Scotland with Style" in his "The Story So Far" tour (look it up on RU-vid) making fun of how people call their children. Have fun with the accent, and if you need help understanding what he says, I'll help.
I want to add to the Hutbürger thing: The man is absolutely right. Without a persons consent you are not allowed to film them in germany. And I kinda like that its like this because when Ive been to america I was *sgocked* on how many people stuff their phones into your face and either record or directly live stream it. As a german I was *horrified.*
No, you and the man are absolutely wrong. It is not illegal for journalists to film people at public demonstrations, even close-ups of faces, according to German media law. This was no private person filming with a phone, it was a team of the ZDF with a TV camera documenting a Pegida demonstration.
And additionally, even private people with a phone are allowed to film others without consent if they are at events open to the public like concerts, conventions, fairs etc. and not in private environments or safe from view locations etc.
12:22 the "Haben wir noch Pepps" guy, Thomas, produced these videos for his media production class. It was basically a video project he made for hia studies. It was supposed to be like a Vlog about that amphetamine loving young man. Dude lives not far from here and he HATES his project. I met him in a club a while ago where everyone was just "Ham wir noch pepps? Zwei noch? GAR keine mehr?" until he left...
And the beginning is missing. First the guy flips his ski in the air and caches it perfectly than the one with the camera asks "could you do that again?" and than the ski is landing in the bus
