And in the village sending an image to the neighboring village via email actually takes longer than printing it out and sending with a rider on horseback

Angry german kid was way ahea of his time. he also made a couple of other videos that became absolutely legendary memes and despite it obviously being the same kid somehow people didn't understand it was just a comedy skit. As for Toamtolix his videos are some of the best content german youtube has to offer, definetly some very interesting stuff. He doesn't just try things he really does a deep dive into the subject matter.
I don't know if he was really ahead of his time. People still don't realize how fake rage bait and many other clips are. This guy just loved making little videos and into this one he was coersed and then it ruined his life. Back then it quickly became cult, even before YT was big I got it sent. I think it must have only been the people who knew him who made a bad thing out of it. I and everyone I knew innocently enjoyed the clip and cited it regularly.
I'm 31 now and when i was young I've seen the videos of the kid and also got told a million stories about him. tho i cant remember the truth being one of em. dude got bullied really hard. id say if it was murcia dude wouldve went through 2 school shootings just by the amount of bullying he had to endure. bc the stories ive heard about him back then where just that wild. i dont even wanna explicitly know what people told him in person. also yeah tomatolix is the greatest german content. the amount and variety of things he does is completely insane.

Blaming Merkel for everything initself is more or less a meme, representing a mindset you see more and more here in germany of people blaming others for things, that are either naturally happening or where they are at fault themself or where something/someone completly different is at fault. Which sadly also intoxicates the political climate a lot in my opinion.

Whenever there is any discussion or problem regarding digitalization and the conversation kinda hit's it's end, there is garantied a line from someone like this: "Tja, is ja noch Neuland." ("Well, it's still new territory.") Followed by a sense of shame by every party of the conversation. Cause it's rediculus how bad the situation sometimes seems.
The angry german kid was uploaded in 2005 and Norman did quite a lot of skits back then. For the time, they were actually pretty good, and a lot of people in my age (around 14 that time) knew them. Unfortunately, youtube was not really a thing that most people knew about, so no one above the age of probably 18 back then knew them. A few years later, around 2009, there was a school shooting in Winnenden that shocked all of germany because nothing like that really happened before, and it really changed a lot, we had to do "school shooter trainings" in school etc. Also, of course the media, especially media like the "Bild" and other completely trashy populist media, needed to find someone guilty, so they took the opportunity to blame "killer video games" because the school shooter allegedly had them on his computer which led to a witch hunt with videos of the angry german kid as an example all over the news. They did him really dirty, and as far as I know, of course, none of them ever apologized for basically completely running a big time of his life. He talks about it in some of his videos, and he actually went through hell because of that, but he has now come to terms with it. I dont know if i could ever pardon someone who had done that to me... but media like "BILD" is known for ruining innocent peoples lifes and reputation in germany. Peter Lustig, a TV Star with a great kids show basically died while knowing that most of germany was thinking he hated kids due to a completely disgusting smear campaign full of lies from Bild... It's really sad to hear his story as well because he was actually such a nice and lovely person.
As a German I can tell you Tomatolix is legendary, maybe you could react to one of his videos. The drug selfexperiment videos are entertaining and educational.
Tomatolix is one of the youtubers i am proud and thankful that they provide us with such good content. Not only are his topics always itneresting he is also a good journalist and diving deeply in the matter
that first meme is about honorifics; usually you adress children with "du" (informal "you"), but the woman adresses the child with "Sie" (formal "you"), so when she says sorry, and the guy says, not because of the "are you high" but because she adressed her as "Sie" despite her young age ;) the explanation given in the compilation about the angry german kid isnt really accurate, people bullied him because they thought he was really like that, had nothing to do with games or newspaper articles.
First time I experienced "the internet" was in ~1990 at university ... with all the usenet forums. The big problem in Germany was the PHONE COMPANIES USED TO BILL PER CONNECTION LENGTH ... which could become EXPENSIVE. At ~2000 this was still the case ....
Because of the weather guy... In fact, it can still be pretty cold in Germany in May. From May 10th to May 15th, there is still the occasional cold snap, which can also bring night frosts. This time is called the "Ice Saints" because all 5 days are the name days of Catholic saints. After that, warm spring weather usually sets in. That's why this Palatinate guy (I recognize this dialect from the left bank of the Rhine) doesn't need to get so worked up. It's still 2 weeks too early for that...
Chips (French fries) with Nutella are not typically German, but you can sometimes find them here and there, unsalted of course. It definitely doesn't taste bad. I generally find that fried versions of potatoes and mashed potatoes go well with something sweet. A typical potato and sweet combination found in Germany is potato fritters with apple sauce/purée.
9:22 the video was on Norman's channel at some point but people took it out of context and didn't get the joke which resulted in him being bullied a lot. Honestly the kid's humor was so ahead of his time and age but it seems like the people broke him.
I remember the time the video came out very well. It was back then where politicians blamed video games for all violence in Germany and took this video for the perfect example. People of course found out it wasn't real but still.
Regarding the amount of telephone calls I get when I apply somewhere vs. they just sending me an E-Mail I could access and answer to anytime, yes, the Internet STILL is massive "Neuland" for a LOT of companies....
I'm a teacher and last week we couldn't use the beamers, tablets or anything because of internet issues, so we tried to use ohps again. which I specifically couldn't because of a power outage. So yeah, digitalisation is a myth.

The french fries with nutella are more like a special dish from the restaurant they were visiting there, wich claims to have the spiciest Currywurst. The journalists also signed a weaver to eat really spicy stuff and they clearly overdone it and vomited on there way back (would be probably also an interesting Video). And that crazy stuff is not Berlin in general, but the Area around the Brandenburger Tor (and some distinct other spots in berlin, wich are prestigious and where are you likely to get photographed by tourists.
In the 2024 list of countries by Internet connection speed, Germany has the 58th rank. Romania the 13th! So... as a german guy, living in the internet-third-world country Germany, I'm greatful to be able to comment here at all. There's no need to sugarcoat anything.
It was rumored in my school when I was pretty young, that the unreal tournament dude was from my town and every time it came up, everyone pointed to the same house where he supposedly lived in and to this day I can neither confirm nor deny that claim, because I just don't know.

tomatolix videos are the absolute best content on german youtube. the editing and what shit he does. its just perfect xD well sometimes a bit too much porn shit, but the drug things are always really well made.
Yes, unfortunately the Internet is still uncharted territory. Nothing has really happened in terms of digitalisation since 2013. To a certain extent, this is also due to historical reasons, as Helmut Kohl (CDU) put Helmut Schmidt's (SPD) fibre optic expansion plans on ice in 1982. Instead, cable television was promoted in order to be able to influence TV programmes.
The worst of the 'neuland' is that the 'digitilization' is in most of the cases just a digital version of a former form without any change to the off-line process. So you sometimes are required to fill out a pdf just to print, sign, and scan it again. 😅
A couple of years ago, some guy on Twitter didn't have a printer, so he just took the PDF, edited his signature in and sent it back. It got declined because he didn't follow the process to actually print it out and scan it in again. So he wrote a script that rotated the PDF by 2 degrees, added a slight blur, some blemishes and a coffee stain. This time it got accepted :D He did put the script up on GitHub…

the scene with Nutella shurely was taken in the Netherlands, so a german familie visiting Amsterdam I gues, and it's not Nutella, it's Satee, with is a spicy sauce made out of penuts, quite commonly put on French Fries in the Netherland. I live only 3 miles to the border, I shoud know
I knew most of those before- a first for me. Is it just me or is it just a German thing or does it translate that I snort-laugh until I cry when I see people loosing it like that? And over nothing at all!
I actually had sweet french fries with red fruit dipping sauce but no nutella yet. Was pretty good but it was on a christmas market and i was a little tipsy😂
As to the Nutella fries, she might be right about the weed. Sounds plausible to me. The lack in digitalization is something you can feel everywhere in Germany, most of all when you have to deal with authorities. Things that in other countries have been digital for years still require a lot of paperwork here, mostly because they failed in introducing some usable electronic ID. And broadband internet connection via fiber in rural areas, that's just a nightmare. I'm talking from experience. That guy with his self-experiments, well, I agree that visiting a brothel or a dominatrix can be fun, but he shouldn't be talking in public about drinking codeine. That stuff can kill you if you take too much, so I'm not sure whether young people should know about such experiments.

Man I'd love to see you watch a Tomatolix video. Despite the clickbaity experimental nature of the challenge, it's (i think) well researched, very interesting content and presented in an extremely entertaining way I doubt they have subtitles though. Edit: maybe some kurzgesagt stuff though? I think it's Germany's most successful YT internationally. They have an update English channel that even uploads before the German one, they are super educative, and always make for good reaction videos. Well in my opinion
If you look deeper in any country you will always see they are no Nationalities but human beings. With same failures and same attitudes in different ways. But all love to be part of a group, called nation.
Our digitalization is one of the worst in all of europe and everyone Hates it. There are still towns in 2024 with basically NO Internet at all. You could even be in the middle of a City and get Zero internet connection. It is so Frustrating
