Reading my last Butler and starting all the things || FRIDAY READS 

I feel the not wanting brain to work on anything too cluttered. I worked a little over 65 hours this week and I felt like my brain got laggier and laggier. Hosting people is just so mentally chaotic sometimes, even when they are the best guests. And Will too Battle was too much processing for the week. Reading sprints were very helpful for reading, so thanks for hosting them!

I liked the audiobook of Fire and Blood (House of the Dragon) quite a lot. Narrator really brought it to life and so I did not find it nearly as dry as I had expected. There is a lot of fun with sources who contradict one another as well

I'm a huge ride or die for Fledgling and I'm a visual reader and yeah, the beginning stuff made me super uncomfortable in my head, but it also made me love Octavia so much more that she is now one of my absolute faves. I just love the way her writing fucks with my head! And how she looks at power dynamics in this book is amazing. About to read the Xenogenesis series for book club, and saving Patternmaster for next year, cause I just cannot and won't believe that these are the last boks of her that I can read :(

I feel you on wanting to start all the things! I’m trying to resist and just read Persepolis Rising (Expanse 7) and Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes (a bisexual historical romance that admittedly I started from the library instead of something from my own shelves 😂) 🧛‍♀️

I'm desperately trying to finish reading A River Enchanted by Rebeca Ross (the writing style is testing me), which means I've picked up several other things this week instead, lol. I loved The Butcher of the Forest and I was dissatisfied with volume 2 of Witchy, and now I have to focus! 🧛‍♀

Saw the title and for a moment thought you were talking Judith Butler which probably says way more about how broken my brain is than anything else. Just checked and it seems even us poor Germans get the Patternist novellas for free on Audible so I might add them to my chaotic reading. The Will To Battle is pretty good, lots of Thomas Hobbes references in that one and it reminds me I really should do my reread of the series and finally make videos on it. For now I'm however reading The Plot Against America and preparing for my conspiracy fiction video which is trying really hard to turn into another multi-hour monstrosity.
