They are from my hometown of Flint, Michigan! Good group! My sister knows all of them. Gerald Valentine use to be in my English class back in the day! Plus, John Eaton and I got into a fight on the school bus. I got suspended and he didn’t! Besides, he was the one who started it! Still, I have been proud of this group. They had real talent, unlike the artists of today! Peace.
I never saw this video before now!!! I was 5 yrs old in the summer of 1988. that was the first time I heard this. my parents and I had just moved from Los Angeles to Philadelphia when this song hit (along with Groove Me by Guy, Just Got Paid by Johnny Kemp, and My Prerogative by Bobby Brown). we stayed at my aunt and uncle's house in Mt. Airy, PA until our house in the city was ready and I couldn't get this song out of my head. it stayed in my head for years not knowing who it was by until I bought RFTW's greatest hits CD. it was on there and I was pleasantly surprised. the song from my childhood had come full circle. very catchy.
that late 80's leather biker jacket style with those hoop earrings were so fuckin dope ! blacks make those jackets look much cooler then those white rock n roll boyz & this is comin from a puerto rican 🤘🏼🔥
Such a big fan, back .in 85 first time I heard RFTW.Still clasic music.I still bang this classic today. This when music was fun,and people used to dance.
I'm About To Date Myself By Saying This But These Ladies Still Got A Brotha Feenin' After 23 Years. DAMN :-)!!!!!!!! That's Right I Was Only 8 & Feenin'!
i come back, i had a "dejavu" , digital world, and my brain play the song....and i asked my second brain, RU-vid....lalalala Digital Display, this was the song. I love this memories of my brain and YT help me to find the song.
I hope Gordon is wrong. They deserve to be acknowledged. We are losing too many legends. They deserve to be on that show telling their story. They gotta know fans STILL love them!!
Another track that was tapping. At the club looking for a dance. This shiii right here put me in another world. Like Too Short said I'll bust a young blank out.
There def Unsung! Around this time music was starting to change and you could see RFTW was trying to keep pace. Hip hop was also starting to get more airplay. The Teddy Riley era was also beginning and you had groups like Guy, Today, Levert, etc. This was a moderate r&b/dance hit for RFTW.
Perfect example of that late 80s period when the jheri curl cats were hesitant to let them go. Hi top jheri curl fades with tails and sht. Ready For The World of Curls.
Can see why Devante/Da Bassment covered 'Love You Down' now, Jodeci were heavily influenced by Ready For The World with the leather and bare chest look.
" l met this girly , she had the biggest legs that cha' ever did wanna see...oh oo- woo And she , said she needed a man about 5 foot 6 who's description fitted me , oh ooo wo. And she's , my girly -- ya really do turn me , ya really do turn me on My girly....😂🤷🏾♂️
@MyJunior1975 That was also the year of Bobby Brown's Don't Be Cruel album came out on MCA, which sold nearly 9 million copies; but now everybody acts like they never liked him. I guess ghost where buying those albums.
Oh and if you’re wondering what they’re doing now, check them out on Facebook and follow them-the group still performs and Melvin’s voice sounds every bit as amazing as it did back then!!!
