For a school assignment, I made an animatic to Ready Set, Not Yet from the musical adaption of Beetlejuice. it doesn't look it but i put over 90 hours of work into it so enjoy
I still can’t tell if these are people who want kids but are over-thinking everything, or people trying to make excuses to not have kids. Either way i love the song and this animatic
@@lexa2310 Eh, I know they mention what "folks say" in the song, however I don't interpret it as entirely literal. What they describe the "other folks" saying resembles closer to an internal dialogue, as they give voice and face to their fears and insecurities about starting a family. What is spoken is not so much a message of "you should be having kids and heres why", but rather "these are your personal hang-ups about having kids". I think they do truly desire a family but are letting their fears and insecurities prevent them, irrationally believing that if they put it off and make themselves perfect, they'll feel prepared and ready for it. However, I don't present this observation as objective truth, just my personal analysis.
WOO!! Perfectly encapsulates the wholesome and literally unhinged vibe of this song. I love how each of them are always doing something in-character in every scene. ♥️
Wow, this is *very* well done! The artstyle is simply great, while a bit on the rougher, draftsy side, it has just enough details to be unique and convey tons of personality. I really like how scene transitions and snippets of animation were made, that camera pan towards the crib at the very beginning was especially smooth. Character design is nice and crisp and they have such rich expressions. Maitlands' couple cuteness was captured perfectly here. Also, I really like how the events described in the song were portrayed, both the metaphorical and more grounded ones, the symbolism and progression of the scenes is great in this one. Definitely an underrated work.
That is a very, verrrrrry well made animatic! Totally convey the song and the different parts, and quite a bit of visual ideas that were really great, good job and good luck for your next ones! :D
