Huh, none of the other doctor-reacts videos I've watched on this episode -- and I've seen a bunch -- have mentioned WHY she freaked out so much about the spleen. Thanks for that!

OMG BLESS! I'm a nurse (and the only one on my unit who even knows what "an anime" is lol). I also thought of the infinite cells within cells haha. BUT I hate how this show is able to make me ship fucking cells. Nice to see another healthcare provider enjoying the anime version of the magic school bus haha

Haha yeh I think I'm in the same situation as you! Nice to see another healthcare provider who enjoys anime too! I guess we can't help being critical of creative inaccuracies, just have to keep reminding ourselves that it's still primarily a show haha

Haha I went through similar emotions 😂 I've reacted to a few code black episodes as well, I think I prefer it overall, more gritty (despite being less family friendly)

@@DoctorMIM same! The first one was very cute and wholesome, but I also reeaallly like code black (I also watched a few of your videos for that one too). I like how it has a neo-noir feel to it at times. And I'm quite impressed with how they've shown a body developing chronic conditions

Just checked, AE3803 is a hex code for the colour red. (It could be a coincidence though)

I'd guess the cells having blood of their own, and things like use of knives and the capsule as a smokescreen and stuff simply has to do with the process of anthropomorphizing the cells. It makes it easier for laymen like me (and most people) to understand.

I never thought about how dorky the receptor design is on the neutrophils in this anime. but now that this doctor mentioned it... I will never be able to take any of the fight/chase scenes seriously.

I'm glad you re-uploaded this, as it's my first time watching your reaction! Very informative and always fun to hear the perspectives of multiple doctors and nurses and students! I don't know if this was mentioned in the last upload, but in the pilot release of the manga, the lead Neutrophil DOES reach the end of his lifespan and has to say goodbye to Red Blood Cell. I guess they decided to forego that IRL mechanic for the sake of story and attachment to characters! (Being a very soft-hearted fan, I really appreciate that change, while also acknowledging that my hard-working cells live different lifespans! XD) Hope you enjoy the rest of the series, and Code Black too!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hadn't heard of that before, it sounds like the manga is even more accurate than the anime! I'll have to check it out once I'm up to date :) it makes sense that they changed things though to keep people invested in the characters!

@@DoctorMIM Totally check out the manga! Just to be clear, the pilot manga was, as I understand it, a "test chapter" to see if people would be interested. The actual series manga that has volumes in publication is essentially the anime, so U-1146 and AE3803 have longer lifespans! BUT I do recommend the manga series anyway! The notes are laid out for easy reference, there are translation notes that explain how some phrases are tied to a cultural meaning from Japan, and there are every so often, diagrams explaining the more creative-license decisions, like uniforms and equipment for neutrophils! (Apparently they can visit places like the spleen to get a new uniform if it gets worn out - maybe that replaces the shorter lifespan?) There's a lot to discover! I'm honestly glad all this conversation has been sparked, I've learned more in the past few months than I can ever recall throughout school! LOL

@@DoctorMIM Look closely and you'll see RBC jackets are flipped around based on what they carry. If they carry O2, the jacket is bright red, and for CO2 they flip the jacket to the darker red color. And if you haven't found the meaning of AE3803 yet, it's a hexadecimal for red color in computer. The bacteria hiding in RBC's box isn't just anime creativity. I've read on Google that there's new study of bacterias tagging along with RBCs to avoid immune cells. I wonder if you have heard of it.

I thought the coat might change colour but never noticed it myself yet! Ah yes someone did mention the hex code on the old video! So much thought has gone into this anime I love it! I haven't personally heard of that last bit, will definitely need to look into it, sounds interesting!

hey there doctor Mim I have a quick medical question is it possible to realign the jawbone structure if it's not leveled right! As in since the jawbone so that it can at the same level as the upper jaw?

Hm that sounds like something a specialist would have to advise on, I'd recommend speaking to a dentist/family Dr who may be able to refer you on to a maxillofacial specialist depending on what they find by examining you

Hello! If you want a totally original reaction to a medical anime, try "Seimei no Kagaru: Micro Patrol" ("Once upon a time... Life" in English) Nobody has reacted to it, and it's as accurate and complex as "Cells at work", IMO Best!
