I lobs the whole project, but my favorite part is how you figured out how to make the guage work and then your execution was remarkable. Really nice work. Just fantastic.
Thank you. The annoying part is that my original 2018 design to stop the gauge at zero wasn’t far off. The issue came down to getting things to reliably lock. At first I used a pin to catch the gear, but this would bend due to the forces involved.
Absolutely love the end product, and as you said, has been a labour of love since 2018! Glad you finally managed to finish it, and am super excited for your other projects ^^
The plan is to get more projects done this year. The Semi-functional StealthBoy is here on my desk basically done prototyping and needs a final build put to video. Similar with the Radiation King Radio.
@@ethanspaziani1070 I might I'm more of a RU-vid enjoyer than a creator. For me it's just a fun project to do when I'm not working. It's just a rough design made with a 3D printer nothing is functioning right now.
Putting things to video does actually slow down my work. Stopping to setup a camera just to go drill a hole gets annoying. So I end up putting things together, then taking them apart and recording it only once I have every technique locked down. Still if you want you can share it on my Pip-Boy channel in my discord.
You should tweet at the producer or whoever is in charge of prop department for the show. Maybe you can make them one or send them yours and they can send it back. That would make yours, not only cool but now have serious collector value.
If anyone knows them, please share this with them. I think they need to use more fan props, and mine are obviously camera ready. The show was amazing with props, but there were a too many of them where they printed the low-poly game model instead of an idealized replica.
What about using a tire valve at the end of the pressure gauge, with its original internals. Not quite shure how you should have pressurized it, maybe a removable head and recharge with a bike pump, but anyway the depressing needle could have pressed the valve tip releasing the pressure with an audible “ppppft” and dropping dial!
Early in the project I tried to find ways to get the sound effect, or make it genuinely pneumatic. There was nothing (Small enough) that could hold the pressure to create the effect.
It’s funny, every time you post a multi tool video I’m like “who is this, why am I following this guy?”. Thankfully I never unfollow anyone without checking out the channel, so every time I’m like “oh it’s the guy who makes the coolest fallout props on RU-vid, I’ll keep following, maybe he’ll keep doing fallout stuff in the future”. Real happy to see this! Besides finishing the old stuff, do you have any other fallout projects planned?
Ya, my videos are whatever I happen to be working on. Several EDC videos in the pipeline still, as well as several props. (Functional Stealthboy and Radiation King Radio coming soonish)
This is absolutely incredible! I looked at your webpage and patreon, but I have seen anything for releases other than later you will put up printed copies of the manual. Will you release the 3D files for the parts too? I’d love to make my own!
I will have the physical manual listed on my website soon. They just arrived yesterday and I still need to take photos. The manuals will come with the cad files and an assembly document. After that the cad files will be available for cheap.
Love your channel, can’t wait for you to release the completed Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV. I’m trying to build one myself I was originally going to use my old Samsung phone, but instead I went with a Raspberry Pi. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do because I can’t find any program that has the exact look of the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy 3000 Mark IV. ☢️ 😊👍
Hi. This build is outstanding!!! Is there any more information about which exact syringe you used? Maker or any details so I can try to look for the same one. I already got the Dräger Airpressure gauge. 😊
So I am selling the manual on my website. It also comes with the cad files, and the bill of materials. However, the exact syringe used can only be done visually. I will put together a guide on finding that exact syringe. It has a particular style of wing grips.
@@nikolaylomov2996 Howdy, as the pop-up on my website state: Shapeways, my primary manufacturer has gone out of business. It will be a month or two before I have parts with a new supplier. (Due to prototyping process)
