The Dept. of Homeland Security has launched a new campaign to get Americans to accept the REAL ID. Here are some reasons to choose a standard state driver's license instead of the REAL ID National ID card.
I got a standard NON-Real ID Missouri drivers license last year. That was my intention, but what's funny is the girl at the DMV discouraged me from getting the Real ID, because she said it was "too complicated" because of all the pieces of ID required to get it. Haha!!
I was just at the DMV in Tennessee and as I saw the Real ID language, it felt suspicious. I told them I didn’t want that and they told me I have no choice as that’s what they have now. Hence why I started researching. This makes my blood boil. I’m going to go back and demand a redo to see what they say.
This is frustrating bc you need ENOUGH people to say "no" for it not to become a problem for you. If those saying "no" are a puny minority, life will just become more challenging for us ... and by that point, it may be harder to do something about it. Ugh ...
Skip to 7:10 for the argument against Real ID : “Secretary of Homeland Security has unilateral power to decide official additional purposes for where the ID is required” .. that’s a slippery slope argument worth remembering.
Being stubborn won't stop others from enforcing this. You need to actually get involved in local politics rather than burying your head in the sand like too many conservatives these days. And you wonder why your politicians lose or cave to people who DO speak up......
@@charlesaferg so your saying, " give in and cause change" ? And im no conservative. If you call yourself liberal or conservativr, left wing or right wing its still the same turkey
The new Real ID deadline is May 3, 2023. Air travelers will need Real ID-compliant documents beginning on May 3rd, 2023. For many services, including healthcare services, a standard ID will be good enough. You will not need a Real ID to enter a hospital or healthcare setting, but you will need one to enter airport security checkpoints, federal office buildings, military bases, and nuclear power plants Drivers will still be able to operate their motor vehicles with standard licenses and people will still be able to purchase age-restricted products with standard licenses and ID cards
I will not be getting the real ID. I believe in less government and constitutional rights and what America was originally supposed to be not the complete opposite that we see today
Ok so why should an illegal immigrant who got a drivers license in one of the states that allows it to be able to fly around the country and enter federal buildings?
Once you get set up for the real ID, things are real easy easy Peezy! I would recommend it for everyone! as long as your US citizen, it shouldn’t be a problem, but if you’re criminal, I would not recommend it
But this piggy backs off the drivers license where you need to show an id in more places. No bar is going to ask for your passport. These are sneaky mofos
If someone didn’t know this information, and was fooled into believing they needed one in order to fly, can they go to the DMV and choose to replace it for a regular driver’s license instead?
"Starting May 3, 2023, every traveler will need to present a REAL ID-compliant license or an acceptable form of identification to fly within the U.S. Passengers who do not present an acceptable form of identification will not be permitted through the security checkpoint." Acceptable IDs are actually considered a Real ID. Especially passports, and passport card. It is treated all the same. So, you are still using and getting a Real ID. The TSA has a list of ID you can use, which is basically the Real ID you are scaring people baout.
I'm tattooed now I have to pay extra for a ⭐on my driver's license sooner or later they will be stacking our bones like cords of wood God have mercy on us all Stop the pork ✌️
Thank you for this info. My Washington state drivers license is up for renewal and I’m really fighting the push to get an enhanced license. If I opt not to and have a U.S. passport and passport card will I still be able to travel freely ??? Can I get into federal buildings ??? I called DOL and TSA and they just direct me to links online which I find confusing & vague.
Sounds interesting, my wife is currently pondering to be or not to be starred. I would ask this though, how is their a red flag over the star but no mention that we already have a SS number that is required in many settings and for numerous legal situations??
im so scared i really am i didnt even know until i went to the dmv the other day and i instantly realized the implications. What do we do i will never ever ever get one
some confusion. You said Obama threatened that people could not fly without real ID but then you show picture of document from homeland security that states you can fly without it.
Absolutely right. So it's not a good plan. I wonder if this is the mark of the beast. Because it falls right in line with that, if you ponder it for a second. And they're saying I'm guessing a quote if I'm wrong. What about SSI, food, Something to think about
There’s no way I’m getting that I’d as I went yesterday to get one the dmv dint like my birth certificate as I was born on a USAF base But was fingerprinted for my renewal of drivers lic. The DMV has to much power and now the have my political party registration wtf FJB LGB
When you ask for the standard ID at the dmv you just get that look 🤨. No need, I have a passport 🤨. It’s not required to fly 🤨 I am but a stranger in a flock of sheep.
the entitled civilians don't understand what is involved with ID cards. Use the VA system as an example. My VA card lets any campus staff to see any part of my history. The wise use of that card is also much faster as each Veteran is locked into a particular primary campus for speedier care. The ID system has several "byproducts". it also helps the campus know how many vets are assigned to it. If a vet hasn't been seen for a while, courtesy calls are made.
Real ID or Driver License is deep mess when you're entering or exiting one to other states. Youre ending up while doing expensive paperworks. It's literally self incriminate yourselves. Goodluck.. rookies..
dont need id to fly but if the plane place refuses what then ,there a private business ,ya know, like you tube who tell you that you have no freedom of speech and face book you have no right in face book cause we a business .
Florida has had real ID With STAR For years. It was established for true identification i.e. prove you are in fact a legal resident of the Country and State. Lots of documents.MUST IN FLORIDA
It's a pain in the ass. They wanted my marriage certificate because I changed my last name to my husband's, and I lost that a long time ago. So now I have to get a copy from NY it's just a giant pain in the ass.
Greetings from Commifornia. According to DMV: "See how easy it is to apply for a REAL ID driver’s license or identification card. A REAL ID, valid passport, or other federally approved ID will be required to board domestic flights and enter secure federal facilities beginning May 2025." realid.dmv.ca.gov/ Say goodbye to our Freedom.
