One thing I do have to give him is that he didn't force them to say they believed in it or cut them out. Instead he kept in the people he interviewed who said they didn't believe in it and then disregarded it all right after.

What I recommend to you is a channel called "Super Eyepatch Wolf", videos of his such as "Space Jam 2 is a lie" and "What the internet did to Garfield" are some of the funniest + creative video essays I've seen to date. I personally love how in these vidoes he tries to tackle a silly subject in a serious tone and gets way too philosophical with it, I think it's right up your guys' alley!

One of the difference between being a doctor vs a film maker is that if a doctor lies they can lose their license and end their career. A doctor has to say the truth or they are heavily scrutinized by the field and shut down for lying.

Yes, and also it’s terribly irresponsible to try and diagnose a person they haven’t had any contact with. And I don’t know if it’s ever touched upon in the documentary, but the Catholic Church doesn’t just perform exorcisms just because someone asked. The very first thing they do is recommend people to psychiatrists and other mental health services to rule out any mental illnesses present. Official exorcisms are few and far between nowadays.

$20,000 is so low, it’s insane. I can’t imagine a movie with a theater release with that low of a turnout. Maybe he should have just sold it to Netflix, probably would have done better.

I mean, let's be real, as weird a guy as William Friedkin is, I don't think he's necessarily wrong. Uncurbed violence is indeed dangerous and having an outlet in the form of a hobby/job is a constructive way to curb that, with his outlet being making movies.

It’s actually sad Bc the fact he says “what would you do if I started slithering around like a snake or crawling on the wall” he actually thinks the footage he got is similar to that, he’s exactly the type of person they’re talking about.
