I’ve seen a lot of videos about nyc apartment hunting and they do offer tons of information on how to navigate nyc apartment rentals. One thing that potential rentals should stop normalizing is view dirty apartments. There’s absolutely no excuse any one should do a walk tru with everything is dirty. Unless it’s a construction site project there should not be mold at shower tiles or dirty sink or dirty floors! I understand apartments rent fast but cleaning also takes a couple of hours at best. Brokers and realtors do your best cause viewing a dirty apartment says a lot of you and the landlord.

thank you for your comment and i couldnt agree more!! this is why i want to show these videos. i want to show the real insights on how apartments look. they are almost always NOT what they look like in the photos! and also take these to note improvements that i see and bring them up if i decide to apply for the apartments

For anyone who wants to rent in NYC with that type of layout, you need to look at newer constructions. Most buildings in Manhattan are old. Like early 1900s old so the current layouts we're use to are more rare in an old building. And the price point of $2400 is tough in certain neighborhoods like the Upper and Lower East Side that have apartments rent in the 5 figures. If want a bigger space for that price you'll have better luck in Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood. At the cost of being far (10 minute walk) from the train.

Great video. I'm bingeing your content. I move to Jersey City this summer and wish there were more videos like yours for that area since it's so close. I'll look into Hoboken, Newport or Grove St. I don't know if i should find a remote to help with costs. Decisions Decisions. I bet you'll find the best place soon. I liked the 3rd a lot but the living room lighting was disappointing. I prefer natural light in the living room

And same- I prefer natural light throughout especially in the living room! Will be posting more apartment hunting videos this week + next! Where are you moving from? Jah & Jahes love sista. I loved the tour and I thank you for taking us along through video. I love the East Village and I currently live in Midtown East. But, I prefer the eclectic and artistic vibe of the East Village especially because it has more older constructions. I loved the brick walls and the hardwood floors of the apartments that you featured in the video. But, they were small and I'm not sure if any had south-facing windows. It was also not clear if the washer and dryer in the one building that you showed was operated or free. I would love for you to see some apartments in East Harlem because it is a really nice area to live and I'm sure that you'll find some listings in your price range. (For me, as a Native Brooklynite, Williamsburg and some other parts of Brooklyn are my ideal areas to live in.) I can't wait to see Part 2. Blessed love.#1804#Ayiti#ToutMounseMoun#AbolishCPS#AbolishPoverty#DefundFosterCare#ProChoice#RawVeganforLife#HR40NOW!

Thanks for your comment! 2 out of 3 apartments were south facing! And yes I love the brick as well. The washer and dryer was operated. It’s so rare to find them in an apartment so that was a big pro for me. I do like the vibe of East village and could potentially see myself living there!

@@nk.medani Hi sistta. I just watched this other video about apartment hunting in NYC. And, she had a budget of $2500. She looked at a few places in New Jersey where she's from. But, most of the apartments featured in the video were in NYC. I LOVED the one that she ended getting. The lighting and amenities. I don't know how she found them. But, she has a really good job even though her budget is about the same as yours. I want an apartment just like hers. But, my budget is just $2300. Take care.

@@maroonrebel you have to look closely to what area she was looking. She most likely had a studio and/or something on the outskirts of the main Manhattan or not even in Manhattan at all! NYC is all 5 boroughs so I don’t know what area you’re referring to when you say this
@maroonrebel

@@nk.medani Hi sista. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and I grew up in the 1970s and 80s. I know about the 5 boroughs and my relatives live in all of them and Long Island as well as parts of Upstate. In the video, this woman "Mami Tiff" looked at places in New Jersey where she is from and in Brooklyn and Manhattan. She showed a really nice place that was in East Harlem and the last place was somewhere in Manhattan too. And, I loved the last 2 places. They were both 1 bedrooms with lots of light, good structure, and so forth. I think that she either worked with a realtor or looked on Street Easty, Rent Hop, Zillow etc. She also might have paid a Realtor. She has money because she works for a good Social Media/Marketing company. She paid movers to get her things from DC where she finished College at Howard University. But, she had a budget of no more than $2500. My feeling is that she had some guarantoors,like her mother and her job. I will ask her again in the comments. I just wanna go back to live in Brooklyn. I wanna live in an industrial area like Sunset Park, but we'll see.Blessed love.
