I empathise April ❤I’ve been in business for about 12 years and 98% of my customers are white from my website stats. I realised early on that It is beneficial to market to all races. A black owner business dosen’t mean that we only have to sell to black customers.
And to the wife about we that we are entrepreneurs in diaspora ,it’s not easy i still very much investing into my fashion business in uk though I’ve started but it hasn’t been easy to break into the market with the mentality of our Africa customers but your husband has said everything an entrepreneur should do in the video..presently I’m just thinking outside the box planning to do things beyond my race(Africa) and put God on it to crown my path
You’re really doing well to be honest .The wellness program just started and I think expecting a lot of people turning up the first time is not realistic coz we know our people. They want to see testimonies, evidences before they venture into something. You’re a good entrepreneur truth be told. Don’t feel down. Your future wellness program will work out ,you will look back and thank God .I have learnt a lot from just following you as a potential health coach.
Be focus and don't get distracted. The right people will come to you. You will have to continue to believe in your calling(business) and trust the process. It can be a lonely journey atimes. You have to be your own cheerleader.
Mr Akin is totally right black people have a mentality that we would rather haggle for everything but if its a white person they will go ahead no problem. However i will say that historically black businesses have not given the best goods and services so some people are hesitant to support. I agree don't lower your costs, if you believe your service is worth that amount then stick to it but i will say you dont have to market just for black people. Everyone needs to lose weight April so go out of your comfort zone, market to EVERYONE who is interested and watch your business boom. Why do black people always want to market to blacks only, look at other races, the chinese restaurant, the turkish restaurant, the white spa's, the nail technicians, the asain hair shops, they dont target their own they target everyone or the people they know will purchase. Keep your head up and yes keep doing what you are doing and the right people will come but dont limit your target audience
Omg! Helen, you’ve spoken and dropped the mic! Thank you so much for your comment! I love the insights you’ve shared and I’ll work on broadening my audience. I really appreciate your words of encouragement and support. It’s everything! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
April don't be discouraged stay focussed as you are doing. All will go well by God's Grace. Be patient. You will reap your hard work. Steadfastness is the key. Very soon people will get to know you more and how important your wellness program is to them.
When you establish a business abroad, don't focus on a group of people or race. Broaden your target clients or customers to all races, then you'll succeed. Talking from experience. Ask me how you can do this 😊
*Embrace the Challenge.* Most of our goals are not impossible, they only call for thinking out of the box and harder work. Many of our aspirations are within reach; they simply require a greater level of effort. Discouragement often sets in when our goals aren't immediately realized. However, true failure only occurs if we choose to abandon our pursuit. Frequently, we anticipate smooth sailing and view any obstacles as insurmountable. What we truly need is to push ourselves further, fueled by unwavering resolve. Ultimately, it's not a defeat but rather an opportunity for growth and learning. As a new day dawns tomorrow, let's approach it with renewed determination and strive even harder.
Just like Akanni has said , keep doing your great job. I know it can be emotionally draining instead focus your mind and energy on the positives - the fact that many people who can afford your products and are willing to pay will come to you - Faith. Before you know it, they will
It's a black people thing. we are so carried away with competition that we always see everybody as a competition. However, time would tell you would meet your tribe one day.
