Stop using that term "boomer shooters" real baby boomers didn't have FPS they had Pong and arcades. Gen X is who played all these games and we didn't have Monster we had Mountain Dew and Surge. It would make sense to call these X shooters honestly

Thanks a lot for the recap. Dad issues on my side too prevented me too follow the event this year, but I am so happy to see actual releases incoming, some games I waited for a long time. Last year I was sceptical with all the new announcements but little updates of already running projects. Aftershock, Warth, Graven were expected for so long. Those upcoming months will be busy ones. I am also looking forward Prodeus, Selaco and Age of Hell. There is Core Decay I’m expecting too. However, for Kingpin, I barely see any difference… Dusk HD does a better job in overhauling the visuals.

I'd most likely be the only one who has dismissed each and every single title on the list 🤣. However, that's not to say that the path illuminated by Zlim didn't lead me anywhere. 🕵‍♂ As there were other games showcased in that event, and since our generous host has directed my attention toward this Realms Deep, i have discovered "Islands of the Caliph", an old-school RPG that is a pixel-art masterwork. Damn, you've got see this one to believe it. Which in turn, lead me (already via Steam) to "Hand of Doom", - another uniquely made oldschool dungeon crawler, which i just couldn't say 'no' to, with its style and art-direction. And now, i am on my way to getting both of them as we speak. Kudos to Zlim! 👍 Not everything that results, results from a direct path. Hidden passages reveal themselves when the main road has become too obvious. Just like in an oldschool shooter.

I just happened to pick up Cultic and my dumb ass brain forgot what Interlude means, thinking instead it was a prologue, so I played that before the main campaign >< Its a great game overall :) having a blast. I can't wait for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, heck everything on the list looks amazing. I really appreciate the recap, while I love catching you live, going back to watch a stream I missed for 4 hours just isn't the same, so super glad to get a nice summary.

Dusk is basically what got me into this genre of games and out of all I played is the best for me. I can't wait for the HD update. A lot of the other games look great too. Selaco and Prodeus DLC especially as I enjoyed both. Thanks for updating my future games list man, subbed.

Started with Amid Evil DLC, some Brutal Doom Platinum, Turbo Overkill, probably going to play Forgive me father again to keep me going untill december. I can't wait. They should have made this update payed, even something like 5-10 $ I would gladly pay for it !

As much as I love proteus the one thing that still urks me to this day is the imps they can throw lock on fireballs that straight aimbot lock on to you and in harder difficulties it can be uber irritating to get killed by a fireball that lock tracks you from 100ft away.

Aside from being excited for literally every game in this video, I am extremely happy to know that Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is still being developed. I absolutely love that game. That, and I've been waiting for Ion Fury Aftershock since it was announced ages ago. That being released caught me off guard and I went and bought it immediately Saving it for this weekend though.

I am most excited for Core Decay -- anything that says one of its main influences is Deus Ex will get my full attention. Phantom Fury is a close second (though I am bummed about the reported quality of the demo -- I'm not going to touch that, and hope the full release is better). Selaco looks great, Fallen Aces looks great. I tried the demo of Extraneum and was surprised at how much I liked it (I don't like the fact that you have to pay in-game money for respawns, though). One game (not an FPS) that I tried a demo for is "Laika", and I loved it. It's a 2D metroidvania crossed with a shooter crossed with a motorcycle game, which sounds crazy but it totally works (and is totally fun).

Since it's not been on Realms Deep it's not included in this video but I also highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out the demo for "Tha Last Exterminator". It is dripping of Duke Nukem 3D vibes in all the best ways the Duke himself is not able to pull off any more.

I watched most of Realms Deep through your livestream but man… it was hard to stay focused with some of the things that didn’t interest me. You HAVE to play Project Warlock!!! This game caused me many sleepless nights and thus hard times at work. But totally worth it. It is also hard af (first episode is ultra hard) so it is very entertaining

lol Buckshot Software really announced another Project Warlock game without finishing Project Warlock 2 which has been in early access for 1 1/2 years and hasn't even gotten chapter 2 added to it yet. They also say on their EA page that it would be in early access for up to 1 year lol

It feels like a shame the first impression of Phantom Fury you got was a bug-ridden, relatively undercooked demo. For something with all the hype that it carried, I can't help but be a bit worried about things to come for it.

I have faith in them making it better, I wouldn't say that the work needed to make it really good is overwhelming, some A.I work, polish and bug squashing, they should be able to do it :)

I hope Twisted Tower is *not* a roguelike, that would be pretty disappointing for me. When I think of Bioshock I think of handcrafted levels with a good story. Maybe they are just going for the look of Bioshock, though.

what bug on the phatom fury demo? i dident see any bugs. i thought the level was really good.. it kind of reminded me of the train level in soldier of fortune. but within the sin universe. which is not bad at all.

For one my weapon kept dissapearing and I could shoot with an empty hand when I used the robotic arm. The enemies dismemberment and ragdoll was all over the place, the upgrade bugged out and so on. And that was from one playthrough

@@ZlimBratSki o yea i recal the invisible weapon actually my bad. . changing back to it removed the problem though...other then graphic bug, I dident have any of the other issues you mention. I still think the level was top notch though. it's just the demo was really short.

Man I was disappointed. But I was pleasantly surprised at the end with the release of Aftershock. DUSK HD is cool and Selaco has come a long way (even though I didn't like it's demo a year or so ago). I also don't believe will be a "good" game since I've had it for awhile and the gameplay is just blah.

No news about Coven? At some point i thought the game was abandoned, but rather recently you have mentioned that it isn't. Is its absence from the event a coincidence, or has it really slowed down until further notice? I also see that in the Ion Fury DLC,- the devs still didn't fix that ugly-ass thing that is supposed to be a shotgun... Fun fact: there is a proper fan-made shotgun (and SMG) graphics replacement mods, and either of which is looking a thousand times better than the default flop-tube...stick...thing...whatever 🤣.

The developer is in the discord sharing some news now and then. Unfortunately the game got delayed from it's October release, there are still two more maps that are unfinished that the developer needs to finish before it drops but we are looking at a fairly soon release :)

While I understand your feeling. We did just recently push a fairly significant update. And we're going to push a new update with some fixes that we managed to introduce in that update. But the biggest reason that Doombringer e2 has been taking a lot of time, is because Kristus and Reki both has been working super hard to get Wrath done and since Doombringer is a project we do on our free time, it has had to stand back a bit for us to be able to not drive ourselves too hard. We have considered pushing smaller updates of Episode 2 so you can get some of the maps earlier. But we're still missing some stuff to make that an option (mostly sound and music). Hopefully the day job is going to be less stressful soon, so we can get the final maps for E2 done and get this out to you. :)
