Martial arts (including mma) are a great workout and wonderful for cardio. Those who practice it correctly and learn the fundamentals will also learn self discipline. It saddens me to see some of the "professional" fighters whose egos have outgrown their humility. Folks, if you get into serious training of any sorts in the arena of martial arts, remember that humility always comes first. Discipline will follow quickly thereafter.
I just started kicking boxing at my local kick boxing gym. I started about 2 weeks again and my god; I think I found a new passion. I fucking love it so far. Even though I may be sloppy and may not have “power” which idgaf about, I just love feeling confident in myself and learning how to defend myself. I recommend everyone to give it a try
i started kickboxing about 6 months ago and i felt exactly the same after 2 weeks as you do. it feels so good and i have seen a lot of progression even in everyday life with cutting out bad habits and a lazy lifestyle. just remember in your training that speed and power will come later if you focus on your form and the execution of your punches/kicks/elbows&knees. I also recommend you attend an additional just sparring class if that is available in your gym (this will help build fight iq and increase the speed of your progression significantly)
@@paddyheneghan9165 appreciate it !! What really motivated me was to get the back out of my comfort zone !!! I definitely gotta get better with my kicks 🦵 but overtime I’ll get better. I’m still very new at it and the ppl at my gym are very good with being patient with new ppl and good at giving instructions; I really do love it and I definitely found passion to add to my everyday lifestyle.
@@ChildRebelSoldier for improving kicks i recommend using more of a muay thai stance (feet pointed to a 45 degree angle with the leg foot a little more straight) while also keeping a square body/guard it has helped me a lot
Never heard hip dexterity before but I believe it's a real thing. Cuz I'm in constant hip pain, and can't help but feel like there's gotta be aBetter way
aint nothing wrong with learning by yourself. I say it is the best way to save money, but if you need a partner to practice with you may need to go to a class.
Kickboxing a great sport I'm a brown belt kickboxing after training around 2 years it really foes increase confidence but if I could give any tips to beginners it is to start sparring as early as possible as that is where the true learning begins imo
@@troysanders9734 Because this is a very low quality ADHD level fast food type martial arts content Designed to gain audience by looking cool and cinematic
I actually just enrolled 2 hrs ago, and starting nxt monday... Kinda excited and nervous 😅 Did TKD back in grade school and missed it, so glad I was able to find kickboxing class close to my place.
I wanted to become the world heavyweight boxing champion, now I want and WILL be a 4-5 time kickboxing world champion. I started kickboxing yesterday and watched a guy named Gabriel Varga and learned the beginner basics and my older brother helped by sparring me after and I got my butt kicked literally and figuratively, twice. (incase anyone was wondering: my older brother is 15 and I am 14).
I've been learning the muay Thai and the Dutch style, but soon I discovered that the original kickboxing "Japanese style kickboxing" was better so I'm currently working on that one. Japanese kickboxing is just basically improved muay Thai kick with outstanding boxing. And I'm not gonna lie, Japanese kickboxer can really throw out a good boxing matchh
My kickboxing classes start near the end of the month, I think on the 26th or 28th, I've never done kickboxing before so I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm pretty excited.
Update: it’s May 9th now and I started in Feb 17th. I’ve gotten a lot better now with my form. I need to work on more of defense, cardio, and footwork. The gym I go to is more of a kick boxing workout so you don’t learn much of defense or footwork unless you’re actually trying to have a fight then you can go to sparring sessions. I actually have been thinking about having a kick boxing amateur fight. There’s a few guys at the gym who actually do fight and they inspire me and I definitely want to challenge myself in the future and compete against someone who also will be having their first fight too. Any tips anyone has for me ?
My daughter was molested. I lost the trial. I WAS ANGRY. STILL AM!!! Started kick boxing 3 days ago. I LOVE IT. First day I did go so hard I threw up. I took it ALL OUT. I need kick boxing and this CONTROLLED anger TILL I DIE!! I feel alive DAMIT!
start with kickboxing. dont risk your health. just learn the basics. then go into boxing and focus on defense and keep kicks in mind regardless. then go back to kickboxing or muay tai if the gym values health alot. then sampo for takedown defense.
What health? Are you on about both are sports that are risk full only once you become more advanced plus you're more likely to get brain damage from mma than kickboxing because of how many less rules there are
@@Your_local_green_forestI haven’t done MT before and took kickboxing in my early youth, but kickboxing gyms often incorporate multiple MA for a well rounded approach. Plus it feels great after each session, no anger just laughs. I got strong in a much shorter time than anticipated.
Muay Thai is aka “the art of 8 limbs” and incorporates elbow strikes along with hands, knees, and feet. kickboxing is a style using hands, knees, and feet
You will know how to wrestle, kick, punch perfect combination of everything but in a street fight I would be a boxer you will just punch if a kick boxer went up against a boxer all the boxer has to do is get a hold of you and it’s game over I would just do low kicks against a boxer and then wrestle him but it was a home intruder probably I would choose kickboxing because if he has a knife you will be able to know how to get it out of his hand and wrestle him to the ground
I have long arms and legs and I would say my legs are probably my strongest compared to my arms,I wanna do kickboxing but I weight pretty light and it’s hard to put on weight for me,idk where to start honestly
Your long arms and legs and light frame will actually benefit you in kick-boxing. If it’s what you want to do get down there and start training.. Don’t let apprehensions hold you back. Eat more protein rich foods and add a couple full body workouts with weights a week. With consistency and time you will be a force to be reckoned with
