The internet abuse you went through is unbelievable. I never understood the big deal about the song. It was a tongue in cheek record performed by a teenager. Was it perfect? No. Catchy? Quite. Rebecca certainly didn’t deserve all the hate, bullying, and harassment she experienced over a little song. Your resilience is inspiring.
Want to say well done, to Rebecca Black, for following her dreams and something she wanted to do, when she was younger. Keep going, keep achieving your dreams and Goals.
There is some girl in Germany going through the same right now. Apparently young generation cares about the earth and bla bla, but you ain't gonna get misogyny out of most young teenage boys. Yeah I hate the term "old man" leftists (ab)use for that reason.
She didn’t deserve the hate but that song is genuinely horrendous even for a teenage girl. But you can definitely tell she didn’t have 20 ghost writers for the song
@@lookinfishy5987 I hope it all works out for you and that you can make a success so that you don't ever have to compromise your self worth for anybody.
I blast this song EVERY Friday for my 4 boys to wake up to! It always makes them pop up out of bed so quickly and with smiles on their faces! This has been a tradition for 12 years!
Rebecca seems like a lovely person and she's an awesome artist, just check her music, she didn't deserve all the hate for just a silly, funny song, it was not that serious.
I cant imagine the feeling of being bullied by millions of people. I don't post content on RU-vid because I know emotionaly I wouldn't be able to handle the negative comments. I just wish people could be nicer, whether in person or behind a screen.
If it makes you feel any better, I work in a plant with a bunch of other big burly guys and we ALWAYS play your song every Friday to celebrate the week being over. Makes the day a lot better and helps end the week on a great note!
Hi Rebecca, my wife has been a 5th grade teacher since 1990. In 2011 she found your Friday song and knew it would be a perfect song for the kids to sing before each weekend. We live in Eastern NC and generations of our children have wonderful memories of you and your song. I know the haters have done their best to talk down this song but literally thousands of kids who have grown into adults love this song!! Few people have had this positive, wholesome type of influence on generations of children. Thank You!
You were a child making music for kids. I’m so glad you didn’t let everyone’s hatred get you down, I’ve been listening to your new stuff all night and it’s fantastic! Artists have to start somewhere!!!
She is mentally strong to be able to handle the hate and now look at her!! That song has turned from people making fun of it to being nostalgic and iconic!! She is such a strong soul!!
I thought the song was funny, so funny that i learned every single lyric and covered it on guitar. I told everyone at school it was my favorite song and they all made fun of me, to the point where i got kicked in the nutsack. But I kept playing the song XD
I am not even in your age demographic and I LOVE that song. It's such a happy, innocent song, and always puts me in a good mood. Looks like you're having the last laugh. Bet those bullies wish they were you now.
That sounds like a really tough thing to go through, but massive props because it must have taken lots of courage to own your experience like this and put yourself and your art back out there!!
Honestly the overreach with the hate on her and the song was just ridiculous. Especially when it's so easy to listen to something else. She made a wholesome pop anthem for middle school kids I don't think it was meant to be taken that seriously. It wasn't perfect but it also wasn't nearly as bad as made out to be.
This song was in my head two Fridays ago at work. I played it for everyone and we all smiled and laughed. Catchy enough for me to wake up with it in my head. It's a great end of week happy song.
I really can't get enough from Friday now. Rebecca has a beautiful voice and I listen to her music alot. She's super talented. Not her fault people used her and that the internet is evil.
Nobody is laughing now ! Everyones first attempt at making a video is going to be a little off ! Actually, "Friday" was decent ! Look where you are now ! Much Respect ! You are a great talent, but what's better is how warm and open you are ! Looking forward to going to one of your concerts ! Props from one of your many fans ! Keep moving forward ! We love you ! 👍👏🏼❤ 😊
Most of the hate comes from the fact it was seen as Baby 2.0 and a lot of people projected their disdain of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber onto her. That, and a lot of the metal and grunge heads were tired of the lack of "good rock" on air. I still hate that song to this day, but I hold nothing against Rebecca or her new stuff. If you love it, more power to you, embrace it. I'm just sick of it having heard it on repeat for the last 11 years.
I can’t even believe what I just heard from Rebecca Black’s mouth. It’s 2023 and kids are wanting to make one’s ears bleed by being abusive with their language and to me I find that unacceptable. That hurts me to hear that come from the celebrity herself. I still love her “Friday song” very much! I feel as though I can relate to some of the lyrics because I was just like that when I was a teen in High School! And Rebecca’s song is very nostalgic! The lyrics and the background tune put me in such a free spirit! All I can do is look forward to the weekend! Also Rebecca looked so fashionable in her music video with her wardrobe and everything and even though I’m in my 20’s I enjoy looking back at being a teenager!!
I really enjoy this song! It’s cute & you did such a great job so many years ago. It is so fun & upbeat & brings such energy to the moment! When it came out I had dance parties with my children! Now I work with a wonderful bunch of people & we play it walking / skipping / dancing home at the end of our time together every Friday! Love it! I am so sorry for what happened to you and am so inspired by your resilience! You have blessed my life! ❤ Thank you for being you!
Can’t believe how these mean guys even think it’s remotely acceptable to put Rebecca Black through all of this online abuse I should listen to Friday more often now even when it ain’t Friday
