Welcome back to Reborn with Me!
Now that we've completed the General Blush Layer and first Creasing layer on our Realborn Asher Awake by Bountiful Baby, we're not ready to start Accent Blushing.
Accent Blushing is one of the most important (and most fun!) steps in the reborning process. Warm cheeks and rosy toes create a doll that your client will not be able to put down!
One of the biggest challenges of Accent Blushing is knowing exactly where to blush. So, I recorded in three videos:
1. How to blush the feet
2. How to blush the face
3. How to blush the hands
This is video 1 of that series.
Did you learn something new? Then, please Like my video and share with your friends!

Thank you for the time and effort you put into your video's! I have just started working on my first reborn and although I'm using air dry paints your tutorials are more helpful then the instruction book I got. Thanks to some of your tips, I'm very pleased with the way my reborn looks so far and I know that it would look very diffrent if it wasn't for your channel! THANK YOU!!! I'm a great fan😊

I have been watching your series, and I just want to say thank you because I've tried to reach out sooo many people about tips for beginners and it seems like not many want to give me any information or they forward me to buying tutorials, which isnt a bad thing dont get me wrong.... But Im trying to save up for my first doll kit and starter kit, so having these tutorials here for free, are so amazing. Your videos on youtube are one of the very few where you can actually see whats going on in the video, and for you to take your time to provide us with this amazing information for free is just really awesome of you. If I was to completely start from ground zero, can you give me advice on what starter kit to buy? I am a portrait artist and im very familiar with face contouring for I draw alot of portraits, mainly of babies and children. So im not worried about starting with a kit like your baby asher with lots of indentations and creases - Ive been looking for realborn presley - i want him so bad but hes out of stock on bountiful baby. I had a hard time for awhile figuring out where i want to apply my artistic talent but couldnt find something i was passionate enough about to stick with....forever. Until i found this a few weeks ago, and Ive been watching your videos and taking extensive notes so im completely prepared when my supplies actually comes - that way I can jump right into it. I would love to have you as a mentor to be able to ask questions as I go along. What is your easiest way to stay connected with your, well, fans? :) -- Thanks! - Tianna, Boston MA P.s - can you help me understand when its best to use the paint thinner over thinning medium and vice versa, what is the difference between the two? is there ever a step where its better to use one over the other? ---Patiently awaiting your next video too!

+tianna russo Thanks for your kind and thoughtful note! I started with a Bountiful Baby starter kit: www.bbreborndollsupplies.com/page/17480196 It is always good to start with an inexpensive doll kit (seconds, on-sale, etc...) because you should expect to mess up the first one. My first doll was a discounted Punkin kit. The starter kit doesn't include everything you need (like solvents and primary colors), but it is better than starting with a massive shopping list. It's great that you have experience with contouring as this will help your shading and blushing layers look more realistic. Thinning medium versus paint thinner is really a mater of personal preference. I use paint thinner for large wash areas - neutralizing, base coat and complexion layers - because it makes the paint watery and easy to spread. I like thinning medium for concentrated areas, like creases, nails and lips, because it stays where you put it and doesn't spread easily. You're welcome to post your questions on the RU-vid video that generated the question so the rest of us can benefit from your insights. :) I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Thank you for joining me in the Reborning process! - Kim :)

Just letting you know...when you hold the pieces close to the camera, the light is so bright, you can't really see the color at all...when you hold it farther away, you can see it better!!! :)

I haven’t really noticed that problem myself. I think you’re doing a great job showing the detail. You have the best videos I’ve seen so far as far as detailing the reborning process and I thank you tremendously for this.

Can I purchase your pre-mixed blush? Or is it a secret family recipe that you cannot share? Lol, either way is fine. 8) I remember you said that it's similar to the blood red color we used earlier. Is there a huge noticeable difference?
@Customdollbabycom
@Customdollbabycom 8 лет назад
+Enchanted Creations The only difference between the blood red and the blush is that I add a little flesh tone to soften it and a little Genesis Red to brighten it up. I can make an extra jar next time I whip up a batch. ;)

What is pyrole red?
@Customdollbabycom
@Customdollbabycom 7 лет назад
Put simply, it is a pigment or a shade of red. Pyrrole Red is not unique to Genesis, but can be found in other brands of paint as well. It is a darker color than Genesis Red. BTW, there are many versions of Pyrrole Red: Pyrrole Red 02, Pyrrole Red 03 all the way through Pyrrole Red 08. Its just a way for artists to define a specific shade of red, rather than just saying "red."

Just to be clear, each layer gets cured, right?
@Customdollbabycom
@Customdollbabycom 7 лет назад
Great question! That's kinda up to you. Sometimes I like to build color by letting each layer dry then adding to it. A good rule of thumb is to cure when you're concerned that your next layer will mess up the one under it. :)
