Reborn with Me! Part 10: Painting Reborn Lips, Nails and Other Details

Welcome back to Reborn with Me!
The complexion layers are done, the blushing is set and now we're ready to start painting those tiny baby details.
I'll show you how I blush the lips and paint the finger and toe nails on my reborn dolls. (The "other details" were painting the nostrils and inside the eye lids, which fell out of the video in order to squeeze everything into 15 minutes. :/)

You are amazing. I want so badly to get a baby. So I thought about making one. Can't afford the supplies. It is sad. I lost 4 pregnancies, can't afford to adopt, and can't afford to make one. Your videos make me feel like it's Christmas. The excitement of a new baby.. Maybe one day..

Good morning Kim...thank you for sharing with us the talent that God blessed you with... before you painted the purple paint on the nails, did you apply any flesh color to the nails...or is the purple paint the first paint applied to the nails?

Hi Kim, I was wondering how you got your lips blushed? did you just use the same blush you used for the rest of the baby or did you use the lip, nail blush for it?

Lip/Blush/Nail has a nice purple tint to it that looks good on the lips, which is what I typically use. But using your regular blushing color is also an acceptable way to do it if you like that better.

Hi! Can i use the nails tip paint as it? Or i have to mix it with a thinner to fix my reborn baby nails ( re do)

It's very bright. I think it looks like French Tips on the dolls nails. I recommend Flesh 08 for nail tips. Use your nail tips paint for teeth. :)

the thinning medium will give the wet look also or you need the glazing gel?

Thinning medium does have some gloss to it. I just like to add another varnish on top of that for extra shine. :)

Hi Kim, I noticed that you said to bake @250 for 12 min, most tutorials say to bake at 165 for 8 min is there a reason for 250 for 12 min? I love your work and congratulations of the baby.

+Doctor Furby Definitely! Working your lips in layers allows you to create rich color and dimension. For example, I like to leave the center of the lips a little lighter than the crease and corners. Layers enable neat little tricks like that. :)

That's right. There are several brands of air dry paints approved for reborning, including Luminaire, Hunnybun's Art & Magic, Miracle Blend, Jo Sonja and Che'air
