I thought it was a brilliant idea to buy the cheapest 2015 L405 Range Rover Vogue in the country. This car could of been fixed with very little budget but instead of replacing the parts like for like ive decided to not only replace and fix but also to upgrade. Making a SVO replica whilst also at the same time giving the car a 2018 facelift, but it seems now the budget is spiralling out of control.

That plastic tab is a jumper connector. It will connect across the terminals in different sequences for different settings or to use on other models.

2:43 its a jumper. The litte black plastic piece connects the two pins under it, when the circuit is closed, the buttons behave in one way, when the circuit is open, the buttons behave in a different way. Jumpers like these are very common in electronics.

Loving this series and can't wait to see how the car turns out. A small suggestion- try to keep the same wheels. These wheels really go with the range rover and they give the car a different presence.

Hi Matt, love your videos!!! Waiting for new ones everyday! One thing I wanted to point out on that plastic piece that you removed from the steering wheel button that wasn’t working before, it’s not just a plastic cap, it’s a jumper that connects those two pins that are not connected now that you removed it, it’s probably required for different year RR or something like that, so by removing that jumper connector you unlocked the left button to work for your model. You can actually see it in the video when you remove the plastic piece that there is brass piece seen at the bottom of the cap.

Mat for info the small plastic part you found on the switches is a jumper. the pins underneath don't connect to anything but the plastic part makes a connection inside that changes the way they work. The sequence that you need to both install and switch things on and off is so the CAN mapping is correct to the ECU. great job getting it all working. Great car to work on and own.

Hi Matt loving the Range Rover series, iv got a Range Rover sport myself and I had the airbag light on after Googling the problem as you do🤣 there’s a common problem with wires under the passenger seat if you move this forward and back a couple of times and turn the car off and on it clears it I can’t promise you it will work but it’s worth a try 👍🏻

My mum used to own a Nissan qashqai which had the airbag stuck on but we found on Google that you can reset it by turning the ignition off and on 3 times and it went away. Don't know why it's this way but it's better than having to reset a code or have to tear things apart 😅

the "black plastics" you removed from the steering wheel control switches are jumper leads/shorting link. It's just an easy way for manufacturers to have different functionality using the same product for different models

Mat check under driver and passenger seats. Wobble the connector cables. My airbag light kept coming on but was a bad/loose connection under seat. Good luck. Great vid.

Range Rover evo, Audi S3 (looking like RS3) and that C63, I struggle keeping track of what has been done to which one, but I'm just watching, you are actually doing all of this, respect my man! EDIT: 2:45 that thingy you just pulled out is called a jumper, it allows the user to usually control some one-time-set setting or operation mode, it bridges two points which are wired on the circuit board, so those were actually going "somewhere" but well once you pull it out then yeah it kind of goes nowhere lol (still makes a difference to the circuit ofc).

Matt the plastic cap you removed was a shorting link on those pins beneath, look inside the cap you will see a metal link that shorts the pins .

Coupla things Bro! Check the wiring under passenger seat for the airbag light, common issues if the seat is moved a lot 👍🏻 Those aftermarket rear lights, if they’re not genuine LR then they will cause issues with DAB radio/tv amplifier, don’t ask me why but it’s another common complaint pal! Where did you get those steering wheel upgraded switches???? 😎
