I am new to soap making and making candles. It helps with my PTSD depression and anxiety. All of the soap makers i have watched have been very helpful. I enjoy the way each one of yall get excited about your soap. Being a Marine I did some time at the Miramar navel air station before it became Miramar Marine Corp air station. I want to say thanks to your husband and his family for yalls service. God bless and Semper Fi.
@@EllenRuthSoap I hope you are working on a recipe to substitute some of the olive oil! I know there is a way however since my head injury (5 titanium plates) I have a hard time trying to figure out how to put things together. God bless you sweet girl. Granny from Florida
The prices are out of control. I went to Mexico over the weekend and brought a 5 Lt container for 49.00. My friend was laughing but she knows me. Beautiful soap as always Ellen and I am glad your family keeps you going on.
I cannot believe the price of Olive Oil! I wish I lived in a part of the world where I could have an Olive tree and make my own oil. It is crazy the prices of stuff now days.
Love your videos! You are definitely the Queen of Soaping! After watching so many of your videos I cannot get a feel for what your favorite combo of oils are. In your (4 different recipes) test I was impressed by number 2 with no palm. However none were done with fragrance so we know that can change up the game. If you had to choose 1 of your staple recipes, which would it be? Thanks so much for all of the lovely content and soap on!
Thanks so much! I have a hard time choosing a favorite, I've tested so many recipes over the years... My core ERS recipe is one I have not shared yet ( I plan to when I hit another milestone).
Love the idea of splitting the lye out. Gives you more control and working time. Gotta try this recipe! I think I have everything except the kokum and cupuacu butter.
So beautiful, your Sister is going to Love them! Thank you so much for talking about the usage rate of the micas. I had made a soap with purple layers and think I put too much mica in and the bubbles were purple.
So pretty! I love the lavender scent and those purples are so wonderful. I like purple even though it's lower on my favorites list. Those you used are wonderful. Keep up the good work. You're work is awesome.
Another great soap and video. As I always tell you, it is a great way to start my day. I have made your triple butter recipe. I was anxious to make it, so I used butter I had on hand. Turned out great! I look forward to trying the butters you used. Have a blessed day.❤❤
Very pretty soap, I love lavender but I would have just used the darkest purple and then added TD to lighten the other 3 layers. That way you wouldn't have had such different colors, you would have had the ombre' you were looking for. Doing the ombre' would have been so much prettier. These are very pretty but the colors are off for what I think you were intending and using TD to lighten each layer would have been so much better. That one color that turned to a fuchsia really don't match and the other that turned more grey really don't go with the first layer either. Using just the one purple and lightening it each layer you know exactly how each layer will turn out and there won't be such a drastic change in color. But I do see where you were going with this, but next time try using TD and just the one color. You can still use your gold mica and the design paddles but again these are pretty.
❤❤❤❤ Ellen you are such an inspiration. I am just learning about soap making (I watch you before work and after). The knowledge you impart on people is absolutely priceless as is your work! Thank you for all you do and share!❤
Can’t wait to try this recipe, I’m a newbie so I hope I do it justice. Have a question if you don’t mind, what is the difference in using the different milks in soap in the final product? Coconut vs goat vs buttermilk etc. they all seem amazing but wondering if there are any major differences. Thanks for all your beautiful videos!!
Hi Ellen, Karen here from the cruise. I have the fragrance oil of French lavender also but what percentage did you use? Plus did it stay after the cure or is it faint? Beautiful soap with the layers. I shall try it. I have made your triple butter recipe about 3 yrs ago. Love it❤
Hi Karen, the usage rate for soap was 3-6% so I used 5% and it was light but present after the cure. I really wanted this to be special for my big sister💜
To the person commenting on olive oil being so expensive. Ansa Smit from Saponify has a video on 2 oils which can replace olive oil. She is based in South Africa.
Hi Ellen, could you please put this recipe into Soap Calc, my numbers aren’t coming up right whether I use oz, grams or %. Confused, please help I’m trying to learn how to transfer recipes into Soap Calc
