Very interesting. It's nice learning from others work. Often going to back up plan. I have a 12 with plastic stock I filled with some old hardware and sand. That gave 3 pounds, 11 total. it's too much to carry around a lot. Haven't shot it yet. Don't know how much it helps. I'm thinking it'll help for sitting in a blind.
Yep, I do recall it was expensive but not 200. It came from overseas and took a long time to arrive....probably is radioactive or worse ..hahaha but it sure tamed the recoil
@@neuromanglers I've done a little bit of research and i think what you have is tungsten carbide. A 3/4 x 8 tungsten carbide rod is just shy of 2 lbs, if it were pure tungsten it should be about 2.5 lbs. Not as dense as pure tungsten, but more dense than lead and not nearly as expensive as pure tungsten rods. I see some 3/4 x 4 tungsten carbide rods for about $50. So paying $100 for an 8 inch piece sounds about right.
