I like the conclusion that it’s a pro-human book and that racism, like everything else in life, is intersectional and varies. Back when I was working at a town library, I assisted in an open house for a new collection of racial awareness books and Kendi’s was among them. ❤ I prepared table after table displaying all of the books; hung banners overhead with pictures of the covers of each book, helped prepare the refreshments, and stayed for three hours to work at it though I lived an hour away. One of most enriching projects I took part in during my time there. And many other great titles in the new collection! That served as a springboard for me to take an anti racism class with the local pastor and to join a regional committee for racial equality. I also began a special focus book club on the titles from this collection that met on Zoom during Covid. I know it sounds like I’m focusing on my career rather than the actual book, but it was this book that got me started! 😊 Thanks for sharing this review.

Frantz Fanon "Black Skin, White Masks" and J. Sakai "Settlers: The Mythology of the White Proletariat" are a must read in this month but also always, bc they go further in the studies of colonization (see palestine)

"I've lived in the south all my life and I can tell you that some people do seem to be lacking in intelligence" - best quote of the month! LOL Thanks for the chuckle. Here is my reply: "I've lived in the north all my life and I can tell you that the south does not hold a monopoly on unintelligent people,"

Last and most important part of my research black history month is also chance to learn about achievements of black people . Black history celebrated in Canada, England, Ireland , Germany since 1990 . Officially in USA since 1976 , origin in 1915 by black historian dr Carter Woodson . There are four colors for black month history each color have significant meaning such as black symbolizes resilience , red represents donates blood , yellow is optimism and justice, green symbolizes rich greenery . As I learned Toni Morrison is first black woman have Nobel prize in literature, President Al medal for freedom. Most famous black writer is James Baldwin. King luther is founder of American civil movement , he won Nobel prize in peace , presidental medal of freedom posthumous, Congressional gold medal posthumous too . Novel of Uncle Tom cabin is well known in Arabic too and I just found out that novel is written by white author Harriet Beecher Stown in 1852 and it’s main reason for cause of American civil war led by Abraham Lincoln to end of slavery. I hope everyone understand all of us are human begins created by Adam and Eva share same structures of bodies . We are different in languages , races , colors of skins , religions , habit but we all creatures of one god . I hope you like my research. Best wishes for you your loved ones .

Happy valentine mrs Linda . Thank you for your wonderful cultural channel. Honestly Iam Arabic musilm. Iam not black , I have white skin . In our religion the main difference among people not their races or color of skin but manner and their minds . I read as subscriber to interracial couples channels such racist comments from close minded silly people . They think themselves different creatures . Sorry some said they not married out of love but they paid money to men to white their race . Imagine black lady mentioned her experiences with her ex husband , I read how black cried and and other replied blacks and whites both are human begins. There are Nigerian author have channel title ( English literature) he hosts every week authors from different countries and discusses with them their notable works and sent comments to him sometimes. I just found out that month of February is known black history which is celebration of president Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass ( 1817 - 1895) he was former slave , American social reformer, state man , he taught himself reading and writing, he helped at least 400 slaves to escape, nobody knows his real birth day but celebrate on 14 feb while Abraham Lincoln on 12 feb .
