I left traditional teaching very quickly when I was still in school precisely because I did not find it fun. I focused on what I liked very young, but it is a luxury sport; for example I understood the interest of trigonometry 28 years after my first lessons on the subject because I liked flying planes ... I am very close to your way of thinking that one could baptize "the joyful difficulty" ! A new step in Blender and for some perhaps even in existence ... Thank you for the advice which we should remember the vital importance every day ! After all it could be something like an Open Source way of thinking ?

Pro tip for making it easy for everyone: . .. ... 1. Get your bedroom emptied out. 2. Take a picture as shown in the tutorial. 3. Make a box room as shown in the tutorial. Render scene and named it "My Bedroom." Now tell people about this video and say you've also successfully recreated your bedroom in blender.

Yeah I started off on my blender journey by watching a RU-vid video on how to create a frosted doughnut back in the day. It taught me the basics but I soon got bored. I had created a character in 2D and thought what the heck. I'm gonna make him 3D. I watched more advanced tutorials and was able to create Pal 5 in 3D who features in my profile. I recreated the DELOREAN and made a short clip. I've tried to make more complex scenes but need desperately to upgrade my computer. Anyways you can have real blast with Blender and its improving all the time. There are plenty of great videos out there and yours is one great example. Thank you for the tips. I'm always learning.

This idea has been in my mind for so long, but I never felt motivated enough to actually do it. Like you, I've left blender and 3d modeling in general for a couple of years, not because I felt it was hard to do, but because I lacked motivation in doing almost anything 3D related and also I've never been able to actually criticize my works, as I tend to discard everything. You made me see how easy and fun this project could be, and I'm going to try it on my own. Thank you! Nice work, btw :)

Just a suggestion, to decrease render times, using fewer light bounces helps a lot. By default, the max is set to 12, which is way too high. You usually don't lose image quality by going as low as 5 in some cases, but I find 6-7 to be the sweet spot. If you want to go further, it is better to have higher values for things like transmission, but lower ones for things like diffuse.

I made my bedroom in Blender a week before I saw this. I spent about 6 hours trying to get my extremely complex wallpaper seamless and flat-shaded (I had brighter light spots and darker light spots on the photos). Well now it’s done! Also, I took the long, architect-like road to making it all by measuring every single length, angle and thickness of the room and its objects.
@JoshGambrell
@JoshGambrell 4 года назад
Yeah although fSpy isn’t dimensionally accurate, it doesn’t need to be if you’re just doing a render. I rarely model interiors based solely off dimensions unless it’s specifically requested. Clients don’t care if they’re just receiving a render and not an actual scene.

While I personally work more within the EEVEE engine (HSC student trying to get to a full body animation to turn in, cycles is a bit slow... Thanks so much dude! This is challenging my blender skills to the max and I am close to finishing my bedroom off. Thanks to cycles my parents are convinced it’s just a photo not an actual 3d environment.

One thing that stood out to me was the chair being exceptionally small. I LOVE the amount of effort this took, its fairly complicated, and very well done, but that was my one critique, your scale on your chair looks like almost half the size as it should be compared to everything else in the scene

Yeah a lot of people said the same thing. I think the camera focal length added to that effect as well. I definitely could've made it bigger. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for making this video! And yes I agree with you at the end: Projects in Blender are much better if you truly enjoy doing them! One project I'm doing has led me to basic modeling, then to animation, lighting, and now creating reference points. I was obviously frustrated in the beginning, but I still find it enjoyable to do because I liked and wanted to make cool stuff in Blender. It was all part of the learning process. So yeah, learning new things can be both fun, challenging, and pull your hair out, but as long as you're willing to put up with that it's all that matters.

That was totally great! I'll definetly give Blender a try, because i quit at the first time. When i installed it i thought it was too hard for me to learn, but with your tutorial i think i'm gonna make it. Thanks a lot :)

I found another way... with the LIDAR Camera of the iPhone or iPad Pro versions you can scan everything and extract the Textures. Afterwards you can Export the scan as .OBJ and import it into Blender. Now you have a 3D reference to model. It is really awesome. You can search tutorials on RU-vid. I believe Ian Hubert also mentioned this method in one of his videos.
